Backwater Bill's is consistently excellent. It's impossible to make a bad decision, but my favorites are the crab soup, wedge salad, and prime burger or black and blue chicken sandwich. Chef Andy is one of Hampton Lake's many treasures. The special theme nights are always fantastic, and he is always out on the floor, just to make sure it is. Excellent food, service, and prices.

Was lucky enough to be staying with someone who lives in the community. What a fun place. Staff was incredible, patrons were very friendly. Talk about a great community amenity. Wide variety of drinks and food. Try the Argy Bargy martini, you won't be disappointed.

My mom lives at Hampton Lake and we always make sure we have at least one meal here while visiting. The food and the service has always been excellent. My biggest issue and the reason for 4 stars is Backwater Bill’s hours. They’re hardly open, very strange hours and I don’t know why. We would eat there more often if they had typical restaurant hours. Recently ate at the pool bar with my mom and daughter. So relaxing and beautiful water views. We all had salads and they were great! Large and very tasty. We also each had a Miami Vice which was delicious, but you couldn’t tell that there was any alcohol in them at all.

Amazing food overlooking, one of the many lakes in this beautiful development. The waitress who I would love to leave her name ( but won't because the interest is crazy) so everyone knew how great she was polite fun and welcoming like it was her home. Keep in mind this place is only open for lunch to non-members of the development! I bet dinner is even better but lunch was worthy of 6 stars.

Backwater Bills is a little secret you all need to know about. Located in Hampton Lake, Backwater Bills is open to the public. The atmosphere is lake-like and dress is informal. Grab a seat at the window and enjoy a view of Hampton Lake while enjoying food and drinks from the best, and moderately priced menus in Bluffton/Hilton Head. The employee define service and friendliness, and drinks from the bar are perfect! A note to all, if you are not a resident, or member, there is an 18% up charge, but it is worth the experience and food at Backwater Bills.

Well, this is a hidden jewel. The food is consistent, the atmosphere is really great, you are overlooking the fake lake, and the real treat is Herman the Bartender.....what a happy smiling welcoming guy...along with several of the servers, including my favorite, Alicia ..most of them deserted the stuffy confines of Berkeley Hall Club...and brought their skills and super personalities to here. I have a few favorites when I go there, but there Alaskan Fish & Chips is GREAT....and the Southwest Shrimp Burger is a must have if you haven't had it!! Their prices re very reasonable....you can't go wrong, and drres casual!!

Went in for lunch. Great views of the lake. Food was excellent. The pork tacos were awesome. The margaritas I had were the best I've had from a restaurant in the area. The service was very good. The only thing i didnt like was the 18% service charge they add to your bill if you dont live in the community otherwise this would be a five star review

Found this place on Google. It's nestled deep inside a gated community but open to the public. Non-members are charged a fee ($15-$16). They do not accept CASH. It's an upscale version of a casual restaurant and bar. GREAT food! Most of us got the Sunday brunch buffet that featured shrimp and grits, an omelette bar, and a great selection of other breakfast items. The atmosphere was very laid back. I hope to visit again when we're visiting the USC Beaufort campus.

Our waitress was one of the most friendly, efficient and just an all-around pleasure to enlighten a Sunday brunch experience! And they have started "Forgiveness Sundays" where they no longer charge 18% for non-members for Sunday brunch!😇

Good food, good service and reasonable prices. Nice staff and see Herman at the bar. Usually not crowded but best to call for a table during peak hours. Members get preference.
