Not bad..... Had dinner here with friends who live in Boca. I'd give this place a B minus, but my friend said it is by far the best Chinese restaurant in Boca. He has lived in the city for 10 years.

The highlights of the meal were their table fried noodles (great) a nice cabbage salad (nice touch) that are both gratis when you sit down. We ordered the ribs and they were good. We also had General Chow's Chicken and Shrimp with Black Bean Sauce and both were good. Also had two types of fried rices...both average to good.

The place was very crowded. Owners very friendly, too. If you go here, you will have a good (not great) Chinese meal. Apparently, that's a good thing in Boca.

Richard S.. This restaurant is one of the finest chinese eateries in south Florida. Tucked away in huge office complex .
My wife and I dined there one weekday afternoon to checkout the quality of the food, and the ambiance as well as the service.
The setting is on a lake, which is inhabited by huge white swans. The food was served piping hot and was as tasty as that of the more well known places in Boca.Service is freindly, efficient and helpful. I highly recommend Shanghai City after repeat visits.

This is the Best Food. Awesome Chinese Food away from NY. The fried rice is to die for. The General Tao has incredible flavor. The staff is very accommodating. The chef is always creating specials that are very inexpensive and full of flavor.

This place packs value and flavor of any budget.

Try It and you will keep going back.

Excellent Cantonese/Hong Kong... as close as you'll get to NYC around here. Mao Po tofu - excellent. Chicken cashew - pretty darn good (and not stingy with the nuts), tofu seafood soup - outstanding, and fish with ginger/scallion - pretty darn good, too. Everything fresh and served with authentic Chinese bok choy, which is a rare. And the Tsing Tao served in a frosty glass.

Spare ribs were moist, fresh and full of meat. They accommodated our gluten free diet. Early bird special has many choices. All of our dishes were delicious. Very busy place.

Stopped by here as my wife and I are staying nearby. First off, the staff are absolutely amazing! Attentive, knowledgeable, great suggestions for dish pairings, and they ask great questions to make sure that you, as a customer, have a great experience, even if you are ordering to go! Food was ready pretty quickly (<15 minutes), and the quality was absolutely phenomenal! I'd rank our food easily as some of the most authentic Chinese we've had here in the US, and this is compared to what I have had in LA, New York, and in Atlanta (Buford Highway area). The steamed dumplings are absolutely fantastic. The fried rice has a great flavor that consists of all of the ingredients together (not like that of many places where either the soy sauce or onion take over; every ingredient can be identified by taste alone). The mongolian beef had a fantastic flavor with just enough heat to add to the flavor, though maybe tad bit too much onion (this is a really petty nit-pick, though... I always want more protein.). We're absolutely going to stop by again during our stay. And definitely going to stop by here whenever we're in the area.
