Review Church's Chicken - Boerne

Chicken was freshly made. But would have liked a bit more friendliness from the guy taking the order. When you are traveling and tired you really dont want to see long faces.

If I could give a minus 5 star, I would!!!!! We have been to many restaurants and fast food establishments, and never have we encountered a manager who is so unhinged. We ordered the 10 piece mixed chicken, but did not get the order we asked for. The pieces were different than what we asked. We called Church's after we got home and upon discovering the error. As it is a 20 mile round trip, my husband called and explained the situation and the woman who answered said to bring it back in. Because of the distance in going back in, he asked if he could to go in the following day to talk to them about the error. She agreed to that. The next early afternoon, my husband took the receipt and went in to speak to them. Upon arrival there were no other customers in the restaurant or in the drive-through line. My husband explained the situation that we did not get what we asked for. The manager said, "Well, you should have brought it back yesterday, and you got what you paid for". My husband reiterated that we did not get what we asked for, as the pieces of chicken were different than what we had asked for. After receiving a very rude answer, my husband said he would call the manager's boss to speak about the situation, and he asked for the receipt back. When my husband extended his hand for the receipt, the manager jerked the receipt away. In something out of a crazy movie, the manager said, "I DON'T BOW TO POWER" My husband said that that was okay and he would just call Corporate Headquarters. The manager starts yelling to the other workers to call the police many times over and over again in a total psycho manner. My husband starts to walk out the door in the middle of the chaos and said, "You A-hole". He noticed they were taking a picture of his car and writing down his license number, so he walked back in and gave his name and address and said it directly to the police who were on the phone with the manager. The manager tells the police that my husband threatened to do something to him, and based on my husband's age, it's very unlikely that he would have done it. The police called my husband and after hearing the explanation, said okay and that was all the info he needed. My husband offered to go in and sign a statement for them, but the police said it was unnecessary. Needless to say, we will never darken the door of that establishment as long as that manager is. there.

It consistently take 3-5 minutes for them to acknowledge you in the drive thru but I usually don’t care since there are so few restaurants in Boerne. Today it took 28 minutes from the time I pulled into the drive thru till I got my food and they still got the order wrong. No biscuit and I ordered a side of mac and cheese.

Food was fine, but the drive thru service was horrible. We ordered our meal but when we tried to order the sides we kept getting cut off. The person in the mic would just tell us the price. If I had been driving, I would have left like the car in front of us did. My husband was much nicer than me. I tried to do the online survey but conveniently there is no restaurant number on the receipt. Just the employee name Joseph. I know the two new chicken places in town have hurt their business so you would think they would go bn out of their way to provide good customer service. If I knew how to contact the owners I would. Hopefully they will see this review. If I could give no stars, I would.

I never had any interest in going here because they only serve fried food, but I decided to try it because I saw a sign outside the store promoting the baked smokehouse chicken. So I went to the drive-thru twice in two weeks with the following results. The first time I waited and waited in the drive-thru even though there was only one car in front of me which got their food and left halfway through my wait. I asked twice if she could take my order and she asked me to continue waiting. I had other things to do so I gave up after ten minutes and drove away. The second time I waited five minutes with one car in front of me at the intercom waiting to order. When he was done ordering and drove forward to the window, I pulled up to the speaker and was told to wait. I waited another five minutes before she said she was ready to take my order. Ah, sweet victory, I was finally going to taste the smokehouse chicken! But alas, it was not to be! They did not have any smokehouse chicken despite the numerous signs promoting it. I told her they needed to rethink their drive-thru methodology and left. The only reason they get a second star is because before I drove away, she gave me a sincere and polite apology despite my brusque and impatient remarks.

A major disappointment. They didn’t even open till noon and we had to get that information from the person in the drive thru. No explanation. Nothing. Not even a well thought out “We had a problem with equipment” or whatever. A few night before it was a 20 minute wait unless you wanted chicken strips. I’ve eaten here off and on for years and the service and quality of food is simply hit and miss. I don’t care for any competitors chicken but this is unacceptable. Please please please get it straightened out.

It's a great place if you enjoy eating garbage. They got the order wrong twice. Left out sides. Gave me slivers of grease that looked like french fries when i ordered mashed potatoes. Their biscuits tasted like deep fried cotton. I asked for hot sauce and they gave me an empty bag.
