After looking on facebook for a place to eat in Bolivar, we found the Towpath Tavern.I am so glad we tried this place! We ordered the 12 oz prime rib special . It was nice piece of steak,cooked just right! Service was great, our waitress ,Michelle, was very personable and kept checking back with us.
I highly recommend eating here for the great food, drinks and warm hometown feeling!
Fun place! Great food and service. The atmosphere is casual, pub style. Prices are reasonable and it's a nice place to get a meal and visit with friends.
Stopped in last night and had the Wednesday lasagna special. If there's a better lasagna around I sure would like to try it. It was amazing. Great looking menu, cold drinks, very friendly staff and real nice patio. I will definitely be back.
Had the fish sandwich with crinkle cut fries. Best fries ever. Fish was huge. Gf ordered sloppy joes. Loved it. Great taste. Slight kick. Pretzel bite was wonderful

Amazing food, friendly atmosphere and awesome drinks! If you get the chance to stop into this joint, you won't regret it!! Some wholesome food that'll leave you so full because they serve helpings that remind you of your grandma's...huge!! You can tell there was a lot of thought and heart put into this menu!!

The Towpath reopened in Nov and this was our first visit. Even though the weather was bitter cold, the atmosphere inside was warm and cozy. The menu is nicely varied. Wife chose the potato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich w/bacon. The soup was hot, thick and loaded & the sandwich was tasty. I ordered marinated chicken breast and asked for Swiss and bacon on top of the chicken. With a side of honey-mustard, my chicken was exactly what I wanted and it was delicious. Our server was friendly and attentive. Given the very cold weather, an air-lock or baffle wall at the entrance would help to keep icy blasts away from guests.ala in all, we'll be back.
Great food and prices!! The waitress was beyond kind and accommodating to my 7 yr old who seemed to have ants in the pants when we were there.

My husband and I stopped on a fluke for lunch.I had the Chicken Parmesan Special and he had Grilled Cheese. I highly recommend BOTH. Onion Rings rocked also..we'll be back if in the area for sure.
