We were taking our son who just graduated highschool up to the start of the Appalachian Trail and this place was a stop that was 4 hours away from the start of the AT. A friend of ours stayed there before and made the recommendation and what a great recommendation it was. We arrived at about 3 am from traveling all day coming out of Washington DC and they had our itinerary taped to the door after informing them that we would be arriving late. The beds were comfortable, the view of the harbor was breathtaking, the continental breakfast was on point, the staff were very friendly and accommodating, the local shops were within walking distance from the Inn, and just an all around great experience. If you need someplace to stay while traveling in Maine for a nice getaway this would be the place. Mark Conn

I have to tell you...my husband and I were so very delighted and pleased with our visit for lunch! Your lobster bisque soup was the very best I have ever tasted....pure heaven to my taste buds!!! And my apple cheddar salad with maple-cider vinaigrette dressing was yummy x yummy!! Every forkful was packed with delightful flavors that pleased me so!! We loved our waitress who was precious to the core, our wonderful waterfront table with lovely views and the absolute charm of the old tugboat as one approaches your entrance!! Charming, charming, charming! This was by far my favorite restaurant that we experienced while enjoying our stay in Boothbay Harbor!

We arrived just after lunch opening (mid September) so not too busy yet. There's a nice view of the harbor from pretty much anywhere in the restaurant. It was a cool day and their air was on, when we commented about the cold air, the waitress promptly adjusted the temp (even though it took our whole meal to finally feel comfortable). Service was good and friendly, food came out pretty quick (we had 5 people). The haddock strips were WONDERFUL, I know they were just fries but those were very tasty as well. I didn't taste any but the salmon is HUGE, it would be 2 orders back home! Very reasonably priced, especially for location. There's a door and a step to the restrooms with no handicap access and down that step platform are 2 flights of stairs, so not the easiest or safest for a physically challenged person, like myself. However, there is a handicap parking spot right Next to the ramp to enter and there's a ramp to dining room. I was able to fit through the dining room with a walker. I would definitely eat here again.

Extremely friendly staff from the reservations desk to the maintenance staff as well as the restaurant staff. Prices were very reasonable for the rooms. Rooms were clean and the view of the harbor was fantastic. Will definitely be staying here again.

W were there with a group of 50. We had choices of steak or steamed clams and lobster. The food was great and the service exceptional. We had one guest alergic to shell fish and the wait staff was able to tell her that the clam chowder contained some shrimp. They opened at 5:30 so those who arrived early May have been disappointed by not being able to get a cocktail or beer before that but once they were in motion things moved swiftly.

Very nice staff and beautiful location. We had a great room, upstairs, in the main hotel overlooking the harbor. Would recommend this section of the hotel as the best!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay last fall. The breakfast buffet was over-the-top with everything you could ever want. And dinnertime had a romantic feel with delicious menu items. I highly recommend staying and dining at Tugboat and am looking forward to our stay this fall.

This is a a bit of a quirky a seafood restaurant in the heart of Boothbay Harbor. It's attached to the hotel that we stayed at. We had the opportunity to dine downstairs in the converted tugboat, by the bar. We even had some musical accompaniment by a local singer at the piano. We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, service, and food (including dessert).

That upper deck area has the nicest view in town. Food was really decent. Drinks were good. Service was perfect. Definitely recommend. My only recommendations, the price for the 1 little crab cake is a but steep. It's good, but a hockey puck portion could be a little cheaper. The pain killer drink was good, but it could be perfect with a little splash of a second rum. Other places have the coconut rum too, but throw in half a shot of 151 😁. All around though, wonderful place and great staff.

Let me just start out by saying this: the lobster bisque is really amazing! .. the best I've ever had. The seafood Alfredo is so good too! It's loaded with shrimp, scallops, and lobster.

We ate here because we were staying at the inn but we were pleasantly surprised. I got the seafood medley and everything was cooked perfectly, including the scallops. My husband got the pot roast special and it was amazing! They had a good selection of local beers, too. We went at night but they probably have lovely ocean views during the day. Definitely recommend!

Great place, great food, great service. You enter the restaurant by boarding an old, actual Tugboat. The restaurant has lots of seating and several tables looking out on the harbor. The inside is a little dated, but the food and service had our attention the whole time. We shared a bowl of clam chowder which had decent sized chunks of clams, potatoes cooked perfectly and a nice flavor. My wife ordered the Seafood Medley and I ordered the Captains Platter. The food was very fresh, hot and delicious. Our server was very friendly and funny and checked in on us often. We highly recommend this place. BTW, they have parking behind the restaurant so you don't have to try to park your F250 in a spot the size of a small sedan (which I did successfully 😁)

Place was packed and we thought we would be waiting for hours. The staff was amazing. They worked quickly to get everyone seated and fed all while never making you feel rushed. The service was truly above and beyond. The food was very good and not over priced. Casual atmosphere and very family friendly. Almost forgot to mention the beautiful view!

My favorite lobster roll was from here, and the steamed clams. I was just looking at the souvenir glass from their signature drinks (pay couple dollars more) - remembering the good times. Reminded me to leave a review. Lobster meat was there, roll was done properly, clams were better than the co-op we went to night before. When I think back, this lunch was one of the best meals in the area.

Upon walking in, we were greeted with a huge smile, and made to feel truly welcome! Melissa our waitress was top-notch! Our H2O glasses were never empty and she was super attentive and kind. From the time we sat down to when we got our food was about 20 minutes which was wonderful! The Seafood Newburg was delicious with a perfectly baked pastry topping. The seafood Alfredo was really good, and I was shocked at how authentic the sauce was! (Being an Italian New Yorker I can be hard to impress but they did!). Both seafood dishes were chocked full of fresh seafood and they were generous with the lobster meat which was a pleasant surprise. The chicken Potpie was to die for and one of the best I’ve ever had. The vegetable of the day was rosemary carrots, and they were superb as well. If it is definitely worth walking the extra footage to get to this awesome restaurant! The view of the water was pleasant and decor was warm and kind of felt like the 70s but the whole experience was wonderful and what I was looking for on my vacation. I know this is one place I will definitely return to!

We come to the tugboat every year that we are in Boothbay and it never disappoints. The Haddock Monhegan is a favorite of the group that we dream over when planning our visit. The service is always great and they did an especially awesome job on Monday night considering that their food dumbwaiter broke in the middle of service. The rooftop deck for drinks and a smaller menu is also amazing. It offers panoramic views of the harbor and is especially wonderful to be on top of at sunset.

Outstanding experience! Breathtaking views of Boothbay Harbor from nearly every seat, friendly and professional staff, very reasonable prices across the menu. My daughter commented her Mac & Cheese was one of the best she’s ever had, my Lobster Bisque and my wife’s Clam Chowder very both very flavorful, my broiled mixed seafood platter was spectacular, my niece was very pleased w/ the fresh Crab Roll on a grilled buttered bun. This was our 2nd visit in the same week, would happily return again, absolutely recommend this excellent local small business!

This is another great restaurant in Boothbay Harbor with fantastic views of the harbor. They just recently built a top deck with a bar and eating area that is probably the best view in the harbor. There service and food was also great with average prices. This is a 2021 update to this restaurant, I have been eating here for several years and I have never been disappointed with the meal or the prices, I have never had a bad meal here in all the years I have been going and the meals have always been prepared just right. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area.

Down at the end of the street, it was less crowded than other places...which was perfect for us. Walked up to the upper level patio. Really nice view! The food is very good. We had the haddock reuben which was very good, and the burger which was just ok. Seemed like it was made from a frozen patty. Still decent, just not great. Nice selection of beers, including my fave...Allagash White.

My waitress recommended the blueberry mojito, which was refreshing. The lobster bisque was the BEST I’ve ever had. I also had the broiled seafood medley with a baked potato and carrots, which was equally satisfying.

My moms favorite meal of our week long trip in Maine. She had the seafood newburg. When we arrived it was very busy with a tour bus finishing their meals but once we got seated our waitress was very kind and service was good.

Excellent dinner at reasonable prices. We both had the pot roast dinner. Absolutely delicious! The wait staff was friendly, personable and fast. Think about it and it was there. We will go back. The pictures are from their Christmas decorations.
