I was blown away by my experience at Bar Mezzana. The crudo was to die for! I highly recommend it. We also tried the pork belly, a few pastas, crostini, razor clams etc. (i'm sure i'm forgetting something) It was all fantastic. I've never eaten so much food in my life. Aside from the food being excellent our service was unparalleled. We were greeted by both owners as well as countless members of the staff during our visit. Good setting as well as lighting and decor. I will certainly be back again and recommend this restaurant to friends and family.

Excellent food and service.. The ramp and ricotta bruschetta , lobster pasta and the chocolate mousse cake were fabulous. Nice atmosphere. At full capacity , but was jot too loud to enjoy conversation. Our waitress permitted us to leisurely enjoy our meal too which was much appreciated. Cannot wait to return. Thanks for a great overall dining experience!

This is not the place to be if you just want to go out for dinner. This is thé place to go for a food festa, a food extravaganza where each dish makes you wish it was main course. From starter to dessert, prepare yourself for a taste explosion. Don’t rush through the dishes, sit back and enjoy the sensation that each dish brings. Molto bene Chef.

Although a bit expensive it was delicious. We had the chicken under brick and the salmon. Quite yummy. Excellent attentive service. Our water glasses were never empty. Loved the vibe of the restaurant. Sleek yet inviting. Also liked that you could sit away from the bar and not hear the loud music. Acoustics fabulous. You could hear the music, but it was muted and we could actually have a conversation without screaming at each other.

Great food. Great atmosphere. Very creative menu! The heirloom tomato salad was spectacular, as was the pasta. The blueberry desert was delicate and booming with flavor. Can't wait to go back!

Best new addition to the food scene! Celebrated their one year anniversary with Heather and Colin...Time flies when you're eating good food, drinking with good friends and making more in the process. The menu is exemplary of what today's Foodie desires and doesn't disappoint. Eat up, they'll make more!!

They have a pre-set dinner and wine option; totally chef's choice. Takes the decision out of picking something and a great amount of delicious foods! And $30 for 3 glasses of wine! Yes, please!

Been three times now twice with a foodie friend and most recently with my girlfriend, sister and her fiancé and bar mezzana never disappoints. Wine selection is on point and the crudo is my personal favorite in the city. Highly recommend to anyone that's looking for true, high quality Italian cuisine. Will be back many more times.

Totally blew my mind! The whole staff was excited, friendly, laid back, and passionate. The restaurant itself has a bright, open, lively atmosphere unique to any restaurant I've seen in Boston. And the chef has crafted a truly exquisite menu of exotic dishes. Can not wait to go back.

There is a reason Bar Mezzana is listed as one of the top restaurants in Boston. I came here for a work dinner and it was truly amazing. Each bite was better than the last. The restaurant is gorgeous. When you walk in the door you know it’s something special. The decor is beautiful and there is a buzz in the air. The service was excellent as well. We tried the Proshitto and Burrata, beef tartar, Brussels sprouts, pasta specials and lobster pasta. AMAZING! Everything I tasted was five stars. Love the wine list too. Put this one on your list when in Boston! You won’t regret it.

If the bolognese is an indicator of how good an Italian restaurant is, Bar Mezzana is it. Simply delicious, as was everything else we had. Great selection of wines, too. None of the names were familiar to me, but the menu helped out, with categories like Pinot Noir-ish and Cabernet Adjacent. Super-friendly service as well. My only critique is that they had no chocolate in the dessert menu.

Came here for an Italian brunch with friends and loved the vibe, food, and drinks!! The bucatini carbonara was very creamy from the egg yolk, so we kinda wished they used less yolk, but overall it was good! The Double cheeseburger was perfect. We also enjoyed the cinnamon bun.

We rented this space for a birthday party and it was fantastic. All the food was delicious! We had a bunch of apps and meals everyone loved theirs. The servers were the best I've seen. Never ran out of water, would check in but never too much. Always very pleasant and happy to help make our event amazing! We will be back!

Excellent service. While we were waiting for our table, we sat at the bar and Stephanie, the bartender, made me a delicious espresso martini. I was surprised though part of it was premixed. For $16.00, it should be entirely made fresh to order. I am curious what brand vodka is used. She told me it's vanilla flavored vodka but didn't say the brand. Every time I order this cocktail at various Boston bars, it's made differently! I had the duck hash with two eggs over easy and it was plentiful and tasty. A little too salty but honestly most hash is where ever you go. Our waiter (forget his name) was super friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is lovely with an octopus theme and the bathrooms are clean and spacious.

Very good pasta, 10/10 recommend the Orecchiette. They make it vegetarian with mushrooms if you ask. Olive oil cake with ricotta gelato was delicious. The place does get really loud for conversation but the food is worth it.

Contemporary Italian place with average appetizers and great entrées. Recently took a visit on a Friday night where we found the place quite empty. We were initially impressed with their intimate atmosphere and prompt and professional service. However, the first few dishes were a bit disappointing. Shima aji crudo had an overpowering citrus flavor that shadowed the rich fattiness of the fish. Similarly, grilled octopus plate had an overwhelming amount of parsley that ruined the overall balance of flavors. Burrata came in a tiny plate, but honey, fried rosemary, and roasted chestnut toppings gave it a nice aroma and flavor that we liked. Although the transition into the pasta and the entrées weren't as smooth as we hoped, the quality of the dishes that came afterwards was amazing. Paccheri came with a hefty price tag, but the subtle lobster flavor was a good pairing with the green onions and the chili flakes. My favorite was the duck confit agnolotti which had a good amount of sweetness and acidity from the fig and the balsamic glaze. Chicken under a brick was also extremely tender, and the nutty toppings and creamy polenta were nice sides to accompany it with. Overall, Bar Mezzana wasn't one of the best contemporary Italian restaurants I've been to in Boston, but I would highly recommend trying their pastas and entrées.

Everything about this place is fantastic. Staff is so nice, and it has a very chic atmosphere. Went here for drinks and apps, sat outside. Great outdoor space with heat lamps. Got the prosciutto plate and the whipped ricotta with apricot preserves. It comes with 2 large pieces of bread - perfect for 2 people. The prosciutto was high quality and perfection. The whipped ricotta was something out of a dream - creamy and sweet from the jam on top. If the appetizers are this good, I'm sure this is a great lunch/dinner spot! I forget the name of the cocktail, but the mezcal hibiscus cocktail had a very unique flavor, delicious.

Great service and wonderful food! We had started with the Rosemary and Onion Focaccia with whipped feta- delicious- we ordered 2! For our main, my partner got the Tagliolini- which in his words was the best pasta he has ever had. I ordered the Orecchiette- which I highly recommend! We finished off with a scoop of eggnog gelato- excellent and also highly recommend. We even finished off a bottle of Tiberio. All in all we left there at about $130!

Nice spot with great food and cool vibe. For appetizers we choose salmon crudo (very good) and octopus (BEST octopus I've ever tried). As a main course I did potato gnocchi with rabbit and beans and it was delicious . Cocktails are a bit simple, but still good

Amazing Italian food. Almost everything is made fresh daily. The drinks are amazing and well worth it to just grab a couple. The bar menu is nice and on the cheaper end to just hang out and grab a quick bite.

Bar Mezzana is very good, but the pricing doesn't make too much sense. The raw fish is very good. We tried the yellow tail with grapefruit oil and Fresno chili as well as the salmon with green chili salsa verde. Both excellent, but $12 each for 4 small pieces of fish. We also had the eggplant crostini, and some mixed drinks. The mixed drinks are great, both the 'i'iwi bird and the black monk julep. The crostini are good. The raw fish is very good, but it actually makes another new restaurant option, Saltie Girl, seem like a good deal with $15-$16 raw fish dishes that come with 8-10 pieces. 4 pieces for $12-$14 at Bar Mezzana is just a bit much. Good to try once, but at those prices, wouldn't be a regular, and the mostly empty restaurant sort of seemed to reflect that sentiment.

Bar Mezzana is one incredible dining experience in the south end. The menu is small but not too small, and they back it up with some delicious food. Seriously, you can’t order the wrong thing when you come here. They also change up their menu which I like so you get to try new delicious concoctions. We started with the Tuna crudo, the focaccia with the eggplant dip, and the soft shell crab. They were all delicious and would easily order it all again! For entrees, I got the bolognese and my friends got the gnocchi and chicken under a brick. Everything was super delicious and excellent portions considering the prices - I took half home! Their cocktails are also really yummy , I tried both the Things You Can’t Hide and the Maximilian Affair. The latter was a bit heavier and smokier, but the first one was super light and citrusy. If you have to choose one, go for the first! They also serve good aperol sprits and gimlets! Don’t miss this spot for fine Italian dining - you won’t regret it.
