Great food in the north end, pizzas were very good. Definitely not the very best we have ever had, but a great spot to check out! Would recommend if you are looking for nice Italian in the north end. The rolled eggplant ricotta was a star.
It is authentic Italian cuisine. Very tasty and excellent size. We have plenty of succulent and different tastes.
We ate for three pers with pasta and pizza/ wine and beer for about 100$.
We will come back without hesitation!!
Atmosphere was busy in the evening with windows opened but that’s give us the opportunity to share food and have great discussion without the feeling of hurting someone at other tables.
We were looking for an Italian restaurant and we found the best!
This restaurant IS Wonderful! The food is really and truly delicious. The staff and atmosphere were great. We ate in and came back later for take out. The pasta and sauce were fresh and decadent. The pizza was great when it was hot and the leftovers still good the next morning, cold. That's when you know it's good stuff!!
Pretty decent selection of clearly labeled vegan options for an Italian place. The spaghetti was super flavorful and I also enjoyed the vegan polpettes. However, even though I made a reservation on yelp, I’m not sure if it was honored as we waited at the bar for a very time long time before being sat down, though perhaps it was just because restaurant was very busy, as the place was packed and super loud.
Hands down some of the best Italian food I've ever had. Veal parmigiana is to die for and the fettuccini Positano was perfection. Fabulous wine selection by the glass too!
Outstanding. I am a vegan x 21 years - the food brought me back to my Sicilian grandmother’s cooking in Queens. The staff and the atmosphere are fantastically one of a kind.
All of our food was great. The servers were helpful and know the menu. Obviously popular with the locsls... I would Come back for Saltimbocca or wood fired pizza. Arincini app is the starter for sure.
We had a quick 3 day work trip. A lot of our employees were new to Boston and the North End. Antico Forno was the perfect spot for our 30 person group! We had a set menu that tailored to everyone. The dessert was magical, nutella pizza!
Good excellent, Marcos the server was very friendly. I almost have it a 4 because we had a reservation and was told we either could wait outside or at the bar. We. Hose the bar and wanted to order a drink we went to the bar and waited almost 20 minutes along with another couple and no one ever asked us if we wanted a drink. Jo one went back to the people already sitting at the bar for their refills I even tried to get his attention and nothing and the other couple was like how do we get a drink and I said we don't obviously he never comes over here he doesn't make
Eye contact nothing. The another couple came and same thing nothing and he tried to get his attention and he wouldn't
Look or respond so no drinks and then our name was called. So I guess there is no drinks at the bar since all three of us couple were there and we got nothing! We were concerned that same Serb ie would carry on at the table but thankfully it did not. We made these reservations 5 months ago after looking at over 100 places to eat in the north end. We are Italian and we don't traditionally eat Italian food out! But when in Rome, lol, you just try. They lived up to my expectations and would gladly recommend for dinner but not the bar!
Can’t say enough about this place! Both dishes were absolutely delicious and would definitely come back. While busy and tight, I felt like I was in authentic European city! The staff was attentive and kind and made sure we were taken care of. Can’t wait to come back!
If it was politically correct to lick the plate we would have. We ordered fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and the Ravioli alla aragosta. My husband said that it was the best Alfredo he has ever had. So grateful they brought us bread to get every last drop of sauce on our plates.
The food was great and the atmosphere was fun. But, we did have to wait ~30 minutes to get seated although we had a reservation. We ordered the calamari and 4 different pizzas, and they all tasted great.
Lobster ravioli was delicious , not too heavy. We had later reservations at 7:45 mid week & still had to wait awhile for food, but I have no regrets.
Rustic Italian dishes, delicious wines, tempting dessert menu await! Great selection of brick oven pizzas and pastas. Excellent entrees with variety for dietary preferences. Larger dinning room is good for groups in the North End. Reservations are recommended for weekends and busy evenings. A true classic!
Go for: Highly underrated pizza, red wine, and well-executed dishes all-around.
Avoid if: You didn't make a reservation and you're not willing to deal with the North End crowds and delays on the weekends.
Something surprising: It's heartwarming to see an Italian restaurant owned and operated by somebody that's actually from the neighborhood.
Reservation needed? Yes, unless going outside of prime meal times.
Overall Experience: 4/5. It's almost always extremely busy during peak hours, but every time you go here, you actually feel like you're part of the family. The service is accurate and the food is high-quality, yet the overall atmosphere is totally unpretentious. Salem Street is underrated.

Drinks, food and ambience was good.. Dessert was not so great. We had ordered banana pudding. Expensive. So plan accordingly.
