Hands down, the best Mexican food in Boston. Does not disappoint. The Orient Heights location is just as delicious. Both locations are easily accessible by the blue line. Great ambiance and real, authentic Mexican food. Try the guacamole! And the margaritas are great, too.

I went to Angela's Cafe a couple of weeks ago and took a friend's advice to get the guacamole and chips which were phenomenal. The homemade guacamole is the best I've had and the burrito was to die for. The waitress who served me was attentive, caring, professional and best of took pride of taking care of me and my needs. She did her job so gracefully with a smile on her face and I was happy to tip her more than 15%. I highly recommend this place for best authentic Mexican food ever!

Been dying to brunch there for nearly a year. I may have heard about it on WCVB's "Chronicle." My super-foodie son Dan and I got there early. I had their Huevos Poblano, scrambled eggs, green peppers, etc. It included spicy home fries, refried beans and an avocado quarter. Dan urged me to order their Michelado, a Mexican drink that is more or less a beer Bloody Mary. I chose Tecate for mine. Dan went all in, ordering a huge Mole with chicken, frijoles negros and so on. I sampled the sauce. It is, in my not too humble opinion, the greatest Mole I have ever tasted. Most moles tend to be thick, heavy, overpowering and off-putting. Angela's is lighter with beautifully balanced spices and notes. Great service and charming decor. A small place set in the middle of a purely residential section on East Boston's Eagle Hill. Get there early to find on-street parking, and to be seated. It has definitely become a local institution. And the waitress looks like Salma Hayek.

Always excellent! It's nice that my son just lives up the street! We've been here evertime we visit. It wouldn't be an awesome trip without having breakfast before we headed back to PA! Thanks for the most delicious food! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had a great brunch on Father's Day. My husband misses his mom's food in Mexico so this was a great treat for him. We loved the chilaquiles and the mole was fantastic! Everything was delicious. I hope you make pozole or birria for the fall and winter months. And we look forward to your chile en nogada! -Nikki, Eduardo and Eva Miralrio

I feel out of my depth reviewing a place like this since I'm not an expert on authentic Mexican cuisine, never having been to Mexico. However, I can taste love in any food when I eat it, and it was obvious that our meals were made by someone who is genuinely passionate about sharing their culinary heritage. We stopped here for a late lunch and ended up ordering a variety of dishes, each of which were excellent, but the standouts were probably the 'taco arabe' and the tamale.

I'm looking forward to coming back for dinner so I can enjoy some of their excellent sangria (we had a free sample) and some more robust dishes. Even though I'm not a big breakfast person, the comments by other reviewers have piqued my curiosity and I do love genuine cafe con leche.

Hidden gem in Angela's Cafe. Looking for authentic Mexican? Look no further. Angela heads this family owned restaurant, bringing with her favorite recipes passed down through her family in Mexico. The restaurant is small, clean, comforting and as yet "undiscovered" which means there is hardly a wait and there are no tourists or cookie cutter menu items. The breakfast is great and the mole sauce is out-of-this world. The best thing about Angela's is that they understand the meaning of Family. Everyone is made to feel at home, Luis greets you with a smile and the rest of the family make you feel like you have been just invited to a meal at their home.

Mexican grandmother's kitchen food. There is something very special going on at this restaurant right now. Angela recently came over from Puebla, Mexico (the culinary capital of Mexican cuisine) after working professionally for 40 years as a chef. Although she has a high food IQ, she brings a "Mexican grandmother" quality to her food that makes you feel as if you have an intimate connection with her as your private chef for a meal.

My wife (also a Mexican) and I have been going to Angela's Cafe several times a week since it opened a few months ago. Every time we go, we are surprised with a new personal recipie that Angela has learned through generations of her family. She makes a mole poblano from scratch (even the best New York restaurants will rarely make a mole completely from scratch). She uses over 100 ingredients and it takes 3 days to make. The flavors are complex, simple, subtle and strong all at the same time. A trip to East Boston only for her mole is something you would never regret.

One of the other cool things is that because they are just starting, they are kind of in between an American-style menu (they inherited an old Italian-American restaurant), and a Puebla, Mexico style restaurant. Some of their Mexican specials are on a blackboard, others you just have to ask about. She always has something new she is cooking up and they are always excited to share their creations with the customers.

Some other things to try are the tinga (marinated pork), tacos arabes (carne adobada in a flour tortilla), tostadas de ceviche, or chilaquiles for breakfast. This week she is going to make pipian con nopales. Chilies en nogada are coming up within the next few weeks.

There is a real buzz in the Mexican community about Angela's food and the "gringo" community is catching on quickly through the various food blogs and websites. Get in on this great place before it is too hard to find a seat!

Who doesn't love a best kept secret? Angela's Cafe seems like that at first glance. A small, family-owned restaurant in the middle of a residential neighborhood in East Boston, it's easy to miss while driving by.

One of my favorite restaurants in all of Boston. The Taco Arabe is incredible… might be the best Mexican dish I’ve ever eaten. The guacamole is a perfect appetizer as well.

We had some extra time before a flight and didn’t feel like going back through the tunnel. Glad we stopped by because all of the food was excellent, and the service was, as well. Portions were generous and prices were more than reasonable. Will definitely make it a point to go back.

Angela's never disappoints with good food and drink. Be it breakfast, lunch it dinner, they'll have a good break waiting for you. It's a small local joint, that's constantly flowing with people in and out and the food is fresh and made to order.

We dropped in before a flight.. Easy parking in the middle of the day. We had pork tacos and poblano rajas(?) And chicken tamale with mole. The depth of flavor and freshness was outstanding. I would pass on tamale.. Was dry.. But would eat the mole on anything... So maybe I would?

We've visited that place several times, and every single one was great. Staff is nice, overall services is very good. `One of the best breakfast places, they serve not only delicious Mexican style eggs, but also AMAZING waffles and pancakes. Highly recommended. Little cozy place

Having never been to Mexico I’m not sure I can claim this is the best Mexican in Boston, but I can say it lived up to all the five star reviews! We got the guacamole to start, then fish, al pastor, chorizo and árabe tacos and mole poblano de Angela for mains. Everything was super fresh and the mole sauce had a really smooth hey complex flavor, definitely one of the best I’ve tried. Portions were generous, the place was cozy, and price was reasonable compared to other Mexican restaurants in the area. Will definitely be back!

I wanted to provide a detailed review as the experience here was beyond acceptable. I ordered a meal and also ordered an orange juice. Upon returning to my car my mom wanted food as well so I returned to the counter to order. I wanted to know if I could instead of getting the orange juice (which was 7$) Use that money as a credit to get my mom food as well. (Since the cup wasn't poured yet). The girl at the counter informed me she simply could not refund me or even give me a credit even though I didn't receive or have the orange juice made yet. The lady came off to me to be quite annoyed with my request and affirmed me that there was nothing that could be done. THIS is where the restaurant earned my 5 stars. Carlos is the man that made all the difference. He stepped in to professionally mitigate the situation and made a phone call to be able to make atleast a credit happen so that I could get my mom food as well. He was patient and understanding and because of him I would totally recommend this cool little Cafe. Keep providing 5 star service Carlos. It's much appreciated to business owners like myself!

Wow, stopped before heading to the airport and was not disappointed! Amazing freshness, flavors and originality! I had the hominy soup (pozole) with shedded chicken - it was wonderful! My husband had a pork taco, a shrimp taco, and a ceviche tostada, the pork taco was exceptional! We topped off the meal with an order of warm churros - perfect ending to a wonderful meal! Highly recommend and we will definitely be back!

The food here had incredible flavor and spice. I had the Chilaquiles and French toast with Nutella and banana. Both were so satisfying and reasonably priced. The portions were just the right size for one person. Would recommend and come back again.

Incredible Pueblan food. This might be the best Mexican food in all of Boston. It's a bit on the pricier end but well worth it. Apparently there's another location that is a little bigger, either way this place was really cozy. The burritos are fantastic, and some of the other menu items are really tasty. The service was friendly and very nice. Overall, you can't go wrong with Angela's.

Everything about Angela's is perfect. Both locations are wonderful, though if you're with a group, go to Orient Heights. Fresh juices, margaritas with Taijín, authentic Mexican dishes, and huge burritos. The guacamole is my favorite in the city.

I am not an expert in Mexican food. But I felt the foods here were different from the Mexian foods I had before. The restaurant was full for the rainy weekend lunch, so I had to take out foods. Even 30 mins later after take-out, foods were so nice.

I've lived in Eastie for two years now and Angela's is my fave local place to eat. Their breakfast always hits the spot, and their dinner is incredible - the chicken poblano or mole are my two go to's. The staff are kind, welcoming, and accommodating. Takeout is also super fast and convenient if you want to eat at home. As it's a smaller venue, there is usually a waiting list on the weekends for brunch so plan ahead! My partner and I like to take a short walk around the block - seating usually is available faster than you expect and sometimes we go the short walk back home only to get the call to come back!

Excellent. Guacamole lives up to its reputation. Freshly made with ripe, not overripe, avocados, big chunks. Tortilla chips fresh fried in-house. I had the veggie enchiladas and they were very tasty and simply but elegantly presented. I was pleased by the attention to detail: for example, the mushrooms in my enchiladas were nicely pan-browned and delicious, yet not overcooked and tough. Everything else we had (nopales salad, tamales, shrimp burrito) was likewise well prepared. I also like the fact that everything was lightly salted and the table had a salt shaker (which I didn't use, but appreciated the fact that it was already there and salt lovers didn't have to ask for it). Very worth the 20 minute wait for lunch.

5stars service and food! In town for work, we stopped by for breakfast, my husband have been to this place a couple times and he said it was good and I'll love it! My first time here and yes! I got my French toast (my favorite to go menu everrrrrr) I got the banana and fruit berries and asked them if I could substituted Nutella instead of caramel sauce: the answer is YES! My french toast was good but I prefer wet(?) toast, I hope they soak the bread longer, it's a little bit dry for me but maybe a lot of people like it. Also it was good with all the berries and banana, even the whip cream was good too! The most important: HOT CHOCOLATE, it's the real deal! I love their hot chocolate so much and it came in a mug that so cute and looks so cozy!! My husband got Chilaquiles Verdes, just to be honest I don't know much about Mexican food but this one was good. He said he got this every time and never change! I tried a bite (or more than that!) and it was really good, the chicken and everything went very well together, it gave a little bit of spicy but just tiny to gave you more taste and not too cheesy. This place is awesome please come and order some food, you will be happy eating!

The mole was nice and flavorful. Also really enjoyed the pipian verde, although it has quite the kick! All around solid spot (especially if you want to take a date for Mexican food) and the waitress was nice.
