I love Hojoko!! This place is super super fun. The food is always incredible & fun to eat (i have a soft spot for their chicken wings- best in the city!). The whole restaurant has a very cool vibe with great music, games, & bright colors mixed with beautiful wood beams & traditional Japanese windows. The staff is friendly (and good looking), all very knowledgeable of their different sakes & cocktails, & helpful explaining the menu for those less adventurous diners. They also throw the best parities throughout the year. Absolutely one of my most-favorite restaurants in Boston! #hojokoloves

We started with drinks at the bar & were very happy. Lively place with music & movies. Then we decided to sit & eat. I got the Dogzilla & it was delicious! My friend is gluten free & they were very accommodating. She also enjoyed her food. We agreed to come back for the normal dinner menu soon. We ate off of the Late Night menu. Great place!

My friend and I came in for a quick bite before the Bosstones show...and LOVED everything. We started off with a gelatin like peach sake which was delicious...and tuna rolls and eggplant appetizers were spot on...my rice bowl was perfect as was my friends pork belly plate. Definitely will come back again. Great food..and super nice staff which was there to answer any questions we had about the menu.

It's an amazing fun spot for the adventurous eater and drinker. Be prepared to be asked if your allergic to anything multiple times. Second time eating there and first time staying at the verb. The restaurant and hotel staff are both awesome. I highly recommend a visit!

Great food, great vibe, great drinks. We tried a variety of things and everything was excellent. The foie gras and duck pot stickers were the star of the evening. Crispy chicken thigh and waygu steak were both excellent, too. Sushi was delicious. Wished I lived in Boston so I could eat here more often. But next time I'm in town, I will return.

This place has the best miso soup I’ve ever had, the plating is thoughtful, and everything I tried was excellent. The only improvement I could suggest is stronger wasabi.

Warm, helpful, and attentive service. Fun decor. Great drinks - cocktails and sake were super. Delicious food, and strong offerings for vegetarians. (Many items can be made vegetarian by request.) Tempura tofu was out of this world good! Eggplant and brussels were tasty enough that I keep thinking about them. Well seasoned edamame. Enjoyed my hamachi kama from the grill. My vegetarian enjoyed her yakisoba bowl quite a bit. No dessert, but some lovely sweet sake (or mini Ben and Jerry's cups) are available. Can't wait to go back! Easy walk from Kenmore.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 "Hojoko: A Five-Star Flavor Fiesta!" Roll up your sleeves and dive into the culinary wonderland of Hojoko, where every bite is a bold adventure! πŸ£πŸš€ Starting with the Spicy Tuna Roll, it's not just a roll; it's a rollercoaster of flavors! Imagine pickled Thai chiles doing the salsa with cucumbers while tempura bits cheer on the sidelines. πŸŒΆοΈπŸ’ƒ Chicken wings? Oh, they're not just wings; they're crispy, fluttery dreams! Soaked in buttermilk brine like they've just returned from a spa, and you get to choose between garlic soy sauce or gouchujang. It's like picking your favorite superhero - each one packs a punch! πŸ¦Έβ€β™‚οΈπŸ’₯ Sipping on the Kukai Nigori Mango is like a tropical vacation in a glass. The milky orange hue whispers 'sunset', while the sweet mango flavor does the hula dance on your taste buds. πŸΉπŸŒ… And then, the Spicy Miso Ramen, a masterpiece in a bowl. It's a symphony where 48-hour chicken broth is the maestro, conducting a flavor orchestra of hatcho miso, spicy pork, and corn tempura. The soy egg? A velvety encore! 🍜🎢 Don't forget the Funky Chicken Ramen, where the chicken, after a 48-hour spa session in broth, comes out wearing a robe of soy egg and menma. It's so funky, even James Brown would approve. πŸ”πŸ•Ί As for my Spicy Ramen with the works - it's like challenging a sumo wrestler to an eating contest. Spoiler alert: the sumo won. 🍜πŸ₯Š And yes, there's a plot twist - parking is $18, which feels like the price of admission to a flavor theme park. πŸŽ‘πŸ’Έ In summary, Hojoko isn't just a restaurant; it's a joyous, zesty, flavor-filled gala that your taste buds will RSVP 'yes' to every time. πŸŽ‰πŸ‘…

Pretty decent food and nice atmosphere for before a concert in fenway! Tons of options for small and large plates. Really great presentation. Pleasant server. Interested to see what the atmosphere would be like on a weekend night!

We sat outside in the patio. Service, atmosphere and food were excellent! It was a busy night but our food came out in less than 10 minutes. The staff was really busy but was still super friendly. We ordered 4 different dishes and all of them were tasty! Highly recommend!

The restaurant has a funky aesthetic and our waitress was awesome. The drinks were middle of the road. Spicy tuna roll was *actually* spicy which was a surprise but overall, food was fine? Just, nothing to write home about nor worth really coming back to.

Cool place to grab a bite to eat if you're staying at the verb hotel. Sushi was good, burger was okay. Granted, I'm sure that isn't their best seller, haha.

I had an amazing experience at Hojoko! The food was delicious and the staff was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was also very nice. I really liked the ramen it was quite different than most places. I can't wait to come back and visit again!

Super cool atmosphere with great food and drink selection. Small plates are definitely small though so I would recommend ordering 3 things per person. The sashimi bowl was very tasty as were the calves brains and shrimp sushi roll. The service was also great, attentive and friendly. I would recommend this for dinner and drinks.

Great Japanese bar with good food and a terrific atmosphere! The food is fresh and has great flavors. The cocktails are also very good. The staff is warm and friendly and all have great personalities. The fact that it is part of the Verb hotel is a plus. I highly recommend this place for a quick bite or drink.

The vibes are very cool in the restaurant- whether you sit at the bar or the dining are, the decor is great but not too over the top. The cocktails were pretty good- standard price-wise for the area but nothing amazing in my opinion. The sake and beer might be the way to go next time. We got the shrimp toast which was flavorful and crispy, with a hint of rich truffle which was a perfect balance. This was the first time i tried karaage fried chicken and it was delicious- crisp and juicy, the lemon added a nice brightness as well. The okonomiyaki was interesting but not my favorite. Flavorful and salty which washes down well with a cold beer. I liked their rolls a lot- not too much rice which allowed you to really taste the fish! Snow crab roll was great and the spicy tuna was actually spicy which we loved! Overall, I recommend coming if you want a cool fun vibe with a group to share the small plates! The serving sizes are good for 2-3 people just FYI. I think 4 people would be too much.

OMG! This is now officially one of my fave restaurants. Ordered so many items off the menu and everything was terrific. And I mean everything. I was with two carnivores and would not have ordered anything vegetarian, but the waiter recommended a dish that I think is one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. Seriously: Shiitake Mushroom Tempura Roll (truffle salsa, miso, fried garlic, truffle froth). Wow. I want to go back right now. I’m going back and will try to stay at the Verb Hotel that it’s part of. #25MemorableMeals

Hojoko has some of the best Japanese fusion food we've ever had. The menu is fun and peppered with unique dishes. Thankfully the plates are small and intended to be shared, so you can order multiple items and try a wide variety of food with your friends. The sake selection is also well curated. Hojoko has plenty of sake brands we hadn't seen before, and we found some new favorites in trying them out. Hojoko itself has a very cool, retro 80s/90s style record store/bar vibe. It's casual and fun. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Definitely one of our favorite places to eat in Boston. Highly recommended!

Was staying at the verb walked down stairs and ordered carry out. Doorman was efficient/personable checking IDs and stamping hands at entry, the bartender was friendly gave me the option to relax at the bar even though I wasn't drinking or come back down when my food was ready (20 minutes). As I wanted a quiet relaxing evening I opted to come back down. Cucumber avocado roll was delicious (possibly best I've ever had). The atmosphere in the restaurant was lively/fun if in the mood to go out I could see it being a great time.

Early date night. Sat with view in the pool. Hamachi sashimi was delicious, spicy tuna roll was great. Chicken ramen were enjoyed as well. Tasty dessert on special - rice cake based. So good! Played a round pac man on the way out

Overall, the food and atmosphere was excellent! The food is a bit expensive for what it is, but you're also paying for attentive waiters and the environment. - Shrimp toast: would recommend, the truffle kewpie mayo added some depth to an otherwise already delicious dish. - Okonomiyaki - standard okonomiyaki, tasty but some "creative points" like the sourdough batter fell short, since I could not tell the difference between that and a regular batter. - Brussel sprouts: surprisingly good, salty sweet and smoky, with a large portion size. Highly recommend. - Pina colada with marshmallows: they very kindly split one drink into two! Just a note, this Pina colada is definitely on the boozier side of Pina coladas.

Sashimi is great! Kimchi fried rice is too ginger-heavy. Wagyu burger is meh. Bun was smushed. Flavors didn’t work well but the patty was juicy. Pina colada is *chefs kiss* Service is amazing! Great vibes too. Will be back for ramen in the future!
