From someone who loves New Orleans this place was on my "must try" list - and it did not disappoint! The ambiance was great and the food was fantastic - made me feel like I was right back in the French Quarter!
Our waitress (Taylor?) was super attentive and very knowledgeable of the menu - food came out at a nice pace and we never had an empty glass.
Our table shared the pickles, biscuits (melt in your mouth), chix sliders, burger sliders, wings (fall off the bone - perfect), thighs, BBQ shrimp, and mac & cheese. For dessert we shared the maple pecan soft serve (so flavorful - amazing) and beignets. Highly recommend all of the above!
Cannot wait to return!
It was super good! We had the biscuits to start with and loved the cinnamon butter and pimento cheese spread! I had the kale salad which I would say was fine but needs more flavor, it is very mildly dressed. My husband got the wedge salad and really liked it. Then we shared the aged Gouda mac n cheese and the buttermilk fried chicken ( boneless thighs) sweet and spicy! They were both very very good. Our server had them make a Bloody Mary for me with the liquid nitrogen to make it appear to be smoking! It is not on their usual dinner menu and it was very nice of our server to have them fix one up for me! Over all outstanding service and great food and the indoor and outdoor areas are both super cute. The outside dining is really cool! I wish I had had room to try more of their dishes because there were several more I would love to try if I hadn't been so fullš!
Went there for lunch with my wife and daughter and ended up trying 6 items off the menu. Grilled corn was outstanding and the chicken and beef sliders were great. Enjoyed everything so much the three of us went back for bunch the next day. The chicken fried steak, brisket hash, velvet pancakes, and French Toast were exceptional. The Watermelon Sorbet Mimosos were also an unique way to start off our bunch. Finished both visits with their delicious beignets. Next time Iām in Boston I will be back to enjoy their Bourbon selection as well as all the great food!!
Truly a delightful experience tonight, a wonderful array of eclectic foods. Only sore point: none of us could eat the oyster chowder - the fishiest tasting chowder ever made. That said, the biscuits are extraordinary as were the cracklings, peanut hummus (phenomenal), rabbit stew, mac and cheese, and salads. All jaw-dropping. I'd highly recommend it, just avoid the weird chowder.
Everything we ordered was delicious, which means nothing on the menu gets a thumbs down !! The food was sooooo good I have to experience brunch at this place !!! Our waiter was wonderful and he made sure to explain/answer any questions we had ! Be sure to get the biscuits and the hummus !
Amazing atmosphere, to die for fried chicken and biscuits, delicious rose, and our waiter Cameron was the cherry on top - so sweet and helpful! Can't wait to come back!!
I am an executive chef and I could not pick anything apart... my fiancƩ and I did not eat all day and we had ended up sharing 9 dishes... lol... all were so amazing!! One had a slight issue because they are new and human... but they made it more than right and that's what matters!!! The price is spot on for the quality!! We sat in the voodoo lounge and service, food and drinks were amazing!!! I have one day off a week and this is my new home!!! I appreciate your efforts and keep up the good work... oh and we were in on Sunday march 19th at 6pm... thank you to the chef and our server... thank you to the entire staff... its a rare evening when so much is perfect!!!
I want to wrap my arms around the whole Buttermilk & Bourbon ā¤ļø About a month ago I reserved a place for 10 people because I was turning 30, I had asked if it was possible to accommodate us in the restaurants Voodoo Room, that room is absolutely LIFE. Sunday evening about 7 of my girlfriends showed, we are had the most amazing girls night at Buttermilk & Bourbons. The food was exceptional, the drinks were delicious! Our server was great, thank you so much ā¤ļø All of my friends loved the place that now they want to celebrate their birthdays there, which is the right thing to do. I cannot wait to go back for another girls night. Actually my next girls night is going to be there, yes, back to back! Thank you Buttermilk & Bourbons for making my #Dirty30 a lifetime memory that I will forever rave about šā¤ļøš
Place is beautiful, couldn't ask for a better location in the Back Bay. Food and service are fantastic, fresh oysters and a creative southern menu. Drinks are creative and delicious and I recommend this to anyone who wants to have a fun night out. Patio is beautiful and the inside is very cozy with different rooms to dine in, bar is about 13 seats and has a nice flow. This is a must if you haven't already been.
Fantastic food! Try the buscuits, WOW! Everything was very well done. Perfect if you like a little bit of everything like me. Great for sharing with friends.
The beignets are a perfect finish. Yum.
The outdoor patio is great. Very comfortable.

After visiting NOLA last July, we were craving the amazing food and drinks that we experienced down there. Buttermilk & Bourbon hit the spot!! We ordered the guacamole, buttermilk fried chicken wings and the "buffalo" oysters (very close to the chargrilled oysters in NOLA). Everything was delicious. Our server Rubins was quick and attentive, and he even made a special order Grenade for us because it was a little too frozen. We will no doubt be regulars at B&B!
Great night out! From the time you walk through the door until you leave Amazing experience! Food, drinks, and service A+. We had the biscuits, fried pickles, burger sliders, and mac and cheese best I've had! Great New Orlean's experience! Thank you for a great night!
Great food! Chef knows what he is doing. We had a majority of the menu and it was all excellent. Tons of flavors, chicken wings and thighs were very crispy and very moist. If there is one thing you have to try it is the Biscuits! They are some of the best I have ever had. Don't forget to save room for their dessert!

Excellent food. Recommend the shrimp and grits and biscuits. Canāt go wrong with any of the menu items. I definitely will return.
This place is beyond amazing!!! The food and drinks are out of this world!!! Shout out to Ethan, hands down one of the best waiters I've ever had!!!
Food is on point, great cocktails and I love the tapas style dining! Donāt miss the biscuits - they are incredible!
I am from the south so good southern comfort food is hard to find up here! The chicken and waffles are delicious! The waffle and the syrup is wonderful, but I do wish the chicken was more seasoned and crispier
The salad was absolutely delightful and the hash was pretty good and well seasoned, not enough brisket for my taste
The service was excellent, the Cocktails were unique and delicious. The tapas style menu was hard to choose from, however all 5 options were outstanding in flavor. We finished the night off with beignets, which were straight out of New Orleans.
Normally, I donāt enjoy tapas style but this was fun and good. I ordered the fried chicken boneless thighs with the white BBQ sauce. It was excellent. The street corn was pretty good but the special Swordfish came blackened and so over cooked I only ate one bite. I did eat all of the potato salad though. I was a little surprised to be charged full price for it. I should have sent it back but my server disappeared. All in all it was a good meal. Iād go there again, probably.
Style AND Substance!
My favorite spot all around, that I ate at in Boston last weekend. May you have to wait a minute for certain items? Sure. That was no issue for my family or me though, as Jonathan was an amazing waiter despite some familial tension that arose while we were thereā¦he handled us like a true professional! All the dishes were so fresh and well seasoned! A favorite of mine was my sorbet beverage, and salad with arugula and goat cheese. The biscuits were divine. Very stylish in all ways, and I can not wait to go back!
Didnāt expect to find southern comfort food in Boston, and it was good. I got the catfish and chips. The texture was perfect as the fish was juicy but the batter was crisp. Came with two sauces and my favorite was the caper tartar sauce.
I came up here from NYC for the Mets v Red Socks game and this was a must stop. I loved the decor. It gave me an early American feel. The bar area had a neighborhood vibe to it. Seems like a good place to mingle. The staff was friendly and helpful. The Warm Honey Glazed Biscuits would be a must have!
We had a great brunch here this past Sunday. The place is right off newburry and super close to the back bay station and copley station. The atmosphere and decor were great and I liked how the place was set up. We had a nice table in the back room which was very comfortable.
The staff were very friendly and always around when you needed them. Ordering was fast and easy and food came out quick.
We tried their biscuits which were incredible. Served with a spreadable cheese and brown sugar sauce, they were so worth it. The buttery and sweet dish was biscuits on another level.
I had the french beignets and tried the biscuits and gravy, a rare option from what Iāve seen in the area. Both were extremely tasty and with a deep flavor. The biscuits used were tha same as their signature ones so you can imagine the flavor.
The whole brunch experience here was excellent and very worth it. Prices were great and food was very delicious. I will definitely be back!
Really enjoyed eating here. The food was delicious š¤¤. We made a reservation the morning of and it was a good thing we did, but it was during open Newbury St., So it may make it quite busy. The only downside was you have multiple servers. They did pretty good with us, but I could see some frustration from surrounding tables. I got the house special and I recommend it!
The andouille sausage was too good we had to order more. Also the jalapeƱo grits were unbelievable! This place was so good we cancelled other reservations and went back! * the coffee, however cute the milk container is, was average at best.
I'd say Buttermilk & Bourbon is pretty good across the board, but not amazing. They recommend about four plates for two people, which is a lot of food. I'd recommend three plates (depending on what you get) if you also want dessert.
We got the biscuits (amazing, but the spreads it comes with are just okay);
Chicken sliders (amazing);
Fried chicken (good, but it needs to come with some picked something or other to help break up the flavor);
Brisket Mac and cheese (just okay, the person I was with liked it more (very, very little brisket, btw));
The ribs (great, but the sause they come with makes the Mac salad kind of sweet, which was off putting to me);
The bread pudding peach cobbler (amazing!)
My fiancƩ and I have been coming here since our very first anniversary. The food, people and atmosphere bring us back every year.
The drinks here are the best drinks in town, let me tell you. Theyāre delicious and strong enough that you donāt feel jipped. I got the special drink of the night (if Iām being honest I donāt know the name. I heard āpeachā and had to order it). It was VERY good ā but the BB hurricaneā¦ AMAZING (drink pictured with the fog coming out of it)
Every food item will NOT disappoint you. The ribs last night fell right off the bone. I was worried about it being messy but I did not even have to pick them up because they were so tender I could just use my fork.
You just always have to start with the biscuits. They come with cheese and cinnamon butter. Both are amazing.
The mac and cheese was a great mix of cheese and spice.
Lastly, the atmosphere will not disappoint. The staff is amazing and every room I has itās own character!
Tips: definitely need a reservation. Dress warm in the winter, light in the summer. Gets very cold/hot in there. Pricey but worth it!
Love the fried chicken here, biscuits, and beignets. Other dishes, never as much. Stick to the basics here. Mussels were way too buttery for our taste. Chicken is always amazing, a must order
We loved everything we had and enjoyed the ambiance and New Orleans-styled look of the restaurant. Between the two of us, we had ample food + leftovers with three plates (brisket mac & cheese, fried boneless chicken thighs, honey glazed biscuits).
The only picky, one-star knock I had was my southern roots were really wanting some classic, bone-in chicken (legs/thighs/wings/breasts etc.), and all they had were bone-in wings (no other pieces available) and boneless thighs. I was really happy with the thighs, and they reminded me of countless dinners growing up where the fried chicken was the hero of the meal. The flour breading was seasoned and fried delightfully. I just wish I could have had the bone-in pieces this oldhead remembers so fondly from times past.
The fries chicken sliders and honey glazed biscuits are really good. They used dark meat for the dark chicken sliders which makes it much more tender. I love the thin layer of sweetness that glazes the biscuits. Delicious!
I highly recommend the mussels, chicken, and beignets! We (2 people) ordered quite a lot, but the bill was much lower than we expected.
Great menu. Our meal came quick and the staff was super accommodating. Will definitely return next time we pass through town. The wings and sliders were really good.
Great spot for a change of pace. The atmosphere is nice, it's loud with conversations but nicely set up. The fried chicken is brilliantly fried and flavorful. The sweet and spicy sauce is spicy to me, but could be good for you. The brisket mac is very cheesy, it has a nutty undertone that is delicious. We also got the beignets- PHENOMENAL! So flaky and sweet. It was a great finish to a savory meal!
The soft serve mimosa is a nice cold refreshing drink. The bartenders made sure to keep an eye on us and all their other patrons with some very attentive servic.
