Food: The sushi here is pretty good, with a wide selection. There are sushi boats available, which are great for sharing with a large group.
Ambiance: This place is two stories, so there is plenty of seating. I've primarily gone here for group dinners, which is great if you work in the area and want to go out with coworkers.
Service: I have not had any issues. The wait time is average.
Sushi from here never disappoints, reasonable prices and the rolls are always great. Not exactly a fancy location, but a fun outing. Service is always great, we do birthdays here and staff is always super kind and accommodating for big groups
This is my favorite sushi place!! I recently moved out of Boston and had the chance to come visit and I absolutely had to come have sushi again before I left. I’ve sat down and door dashed in the past and it’s always been amazing! The luxury roll is my absolute favorite. 10/10 recommend.
Great little place in downtown Boston. Good miso, and nice tuna sashimi. Sapporo required of course. Recommended
I went back today morning. Lovely salmon dishes
I had salmon sashimi and salmon roll
Delicious
I suspect the team is Chinese, not japanese. But quality of fish was very good.
This is one of my solid sushi go to's. Great food and prices, and they have great delivery options too. Some go to's are the salmon nigiri, the sunset roll, and the double spicy tuna roll.
Stopped for late dinner after a Blue Man Group Show a block away. Fast service, excellent and tasteful sushis, good miso soup. Fried ice cream was ok but for us it wasn’t fried enough, dough was a bit too moist. Will definitely go back to Genki Ya Sushi…even if we saw one or two fruit flies (if you only knew what’s happening in other restaurants’ kitchen but just see it!!!). Our party of 4 felt great, nobody was sick of whatever like we read in another review.
Listen! You need that late night sushi good good, come to Genki Ya! I get off of work, you know I’m coming here!!!!!
This is a very good spot to eat sushi. They have a few spot in and around Boston. Their soft shell crab is so good and then their Alligator Roll with mango, spicy tune roll, etc they are all good. ITS A MUST TRY IF YOU IN BOSTON AN WANT SUSHI!!!
Genki Ya - Boston is an amazing restaurant with great food and drinks options. Genki has some of the most reasonable prices I've seen for drinks in eastern Massachusetts. The staff was also very courteous and friendly. We had a great time visiting before heading off to Royale.
Good food in a location very convenient to the theater district of Boston. The service was quick and efficient. The atmosphere suffers a bit from the tight quarters and loud noise but overall, good. A definite must try if you're in the area and enjoy Japanese cuisine.
Great Experience at Genki Ya - Overall Impressions -
Food was good - sushi was a solid 4/5 with some wonderful specialty rolls, which included tastes such as mango and banana, which I thought was very cool. The presentation was also great, as the sushi came in this boat, which I had never seen before.
Service was a bit on the slower side, despite being on the only people in the restaurant at that time.

The food was very delicious. The service was good. I would definitely recommend
Great value lunch specials and amazing sushi bowls.
Came across this place by a recommendation from a friend of mine. For being in a busy part of the city, everything seemed cheap, and their lunch specials were great for the price. Some of the rolls I had like the Doomsday roll was a bit controversial with banana and cream cheese in it, but the other rolls I tried were solid. On the other hand, chirashi don was phenomenal, and I could probably come here every week just to get that bowl.
The place is usually empty during lunch times, but the service could be a little slow. They are quite accommodating with the seat adjustments, so if you’re looking for an affordable meal option as a big group, I would recommend this place.
The sushi was delicious! The drinks were perfectly made.
My mom and I came down to Boston for the day as a girls trip. We stopped at the Tremont Street location on a whim as we were craving sushi. We shared the spicy triple roll (30 piece combo of spicy tuna, salmon and yellow tail) it was AMAZING. Easily the best sushi I have ever had. The place was very clean and the staff was attentive, kind and very knowledgeable when I had questions about things on the menu. Next time we’re in Boston we will make sure to stop here.

Hungry after not eating a proper meal with our flight from Toronto so we went downstairs from W Boston and ate at the closest restaurant we can find 😂
Surprise to find the place is packed, a lot of which are families with young children too. Turns out we are in the theatre part of Boston and they are here for the show down the street.
Fair price and decent taste, great pre-show dining choice for groups of friends and family. (I saw an ad that paw patrol will be coming in the new year!)
Overall we had a great time. We were seated right away. took a bit for our server to come over. The organic shrimp rolls with peanut sauce were amazing! The food was worth what we payed. Highly recommend this restaurant.
