Hey come down to meet Mr. Sunny Umbrella he's the Porter at the Lounge Downstairs... Its a gentlemanly place to hang out and get your belly dancer gaze.
Tangerine is a wonderful restaurant; the food is great, very authentic...and the atmosphere is incredible. Our waiter was attentive and let us take our time to enjoy our dinner and tea. Thank you for a great dining experience.
My server was fantastic and the food was great, but the fat white server and the slinky bar wench with the 12 year old boy haircut were very standoffish. Your typical run of the mill Charlestown riff raff. Will definitely come back for the food and the Moroccan service, but those welfare queens have got to go!
Very bad service, the food tasted bad, less stuff working,it was a bad experience from the host to the chef, nothing special about the restaurant ( no Moroccan decoration or the tasty food) unfortunately it’s something else not a Moroccan restaurant
Was weird at first because we made what we thought was a reservation, but arrived at 8 and it was all dark.
Lucky there was a server who opened it up for us. It turns out that they had changed their hours and actually closed at eight but neither Google nor their website mentioned it. Definitely call to make reservations just in case.
Don’t go by the menu online at their website. Its all changed.
They didn’t have Bastilla which we came for but i got the Lamb Tagine at least.
Ordered the Mogador Octopus appetizer.
It came fried and i thought it would be grilled. Had fried potatoes which were very good and olives.
The lamb tagine was on the bone and so tender with potatoes, dates, olives, garlic to create a wonderful flavor.
The accompanying cous cous was very flavorful with raisins and chick peas.
Suddenly my wife took my dish.
Absolutely wonderful service from our waitress to make it a memorable evening!
We loved our brunch. The food was outstanding, tasty, and affordable. We all agreed and asked the chef to visit with us to complement him. Our server was charming, fun, and attentive to our big group. Will do it again and again.
Very tasty food in a calm street, very good service ! Went there for lunch outside of lunch time and I ve been welcomed warmly with some free tasty appetizers ! Food came in a fancy original typical marocain plates! Meat was cooked tender and smelled nice! Was not expecting such a good quality ! Tea and coffee are home made and comes with a variety of cookies! Keep it like this !
Wow, this place surpassed all expectations! This space was great for large parties. We had WONDERFUL waitresses who were so kind the entire night, especially Rebecca. The plates were sized on the larger end - great for sharing! We got about 10 items and every single one was delicious! The food was authentic and well made. We had an incredible experience and will definitely come back. The downstairs hookah lounge was also great but the waitresses were a little rude. There is a belly dancer on Friday and Saturday nights who comes out around 11 pm.
The atmosphere was weird. I enjoyed my dinner and the service was helpful. It was really odd being the only couple there at 6:00 on a Wednesday.
The Brussels sprouts are a meal in themselves.
I went there for the 1st time this past Wednesday evening with a good friend and business associate. We wanted to meet somewhere where we could sit in a lounge and simply enjoy a good cigar and some conversation.
When we first arrived upstairs (I thought this was the place to go) there was a little initial confusion. There was no staff available to greet us or explain the layout at first. It was a Wednesday and they might not have been properly staffed for a slower night respectfully. A customer at the bar actually walked us to through to the adjoining restaurant next door and then passed the inside cigar shop, over to the proper door leading downstairs to the hookah and cigar bar.
Once we got there we found a great atmosphere and décor. Very clean. The staff was friendly. We both were impressed that their Cigar Shop actually had a great selection of premium cigars right there inside. We had brought our own Cubans to smoke! The food also was really fantastic (my friend happens to be from Morocco). This was the reason I had selected this place to visit (I wanted to be able to eat something as we sat there for awhile). We ordered a bunch of appetizers to pick on as we sat (Mezze Platter, Shrimp Tagine, Lamb Kofta, Calamari, etc.) and I can we agreed everything we had was absolutely delicious. I had some Baklava I didn't care for, was a bit tough when you tried to cut through it with a fork. BUT, everything else, perfect. Both my friend and I also got, to go, a dinner order of Lamb Tajine for our wives. My wife is from Beirut, and she raved about the dish, saying it was amazing (and she is tough to please when it comes to outside cuisine).
The server we had, though very pleasant and friendly, in my opinion could have been more attentive. We had empty drinks, and plates on the table that I think could have been cleared, not a big deal and I'm probably someone that cares or pays more attention to this. She could have easily sold us more food, and/or another drink or two without us having to ask. If it had been a busy night, I'd be more forgiving, but we were just about the only people downstairs at the time.
But listen, don't let this be a deterrent, I wasn't angry at all, my friend didn't even notice lol! We had a great time and we both would 100% go back there. Tangierino's has a lot to offer. This is a great place to hang out with a friend, enjoy a cigar, have some fantastic food, a drink, watch the game, and RELAX.
I'd upgrade to 5 stars if I find those few areas for improvement are present on my next visit. These were just a few areas that could easily make the overall experience a bit better for a guest.
I plan to bring my wife there very soon and maybe the rest of the family (upstairs to the restaurant) for some exceptional Moroccan food.
Our first experience at Tangierino was fantastic. Recently renovated, the restaurant feels romantic, warm and, without trying sound hyperbolic, sexy. The staff were very welcoming, and absolutely made us feel very special. I can't say enough about the hospitality we received.
The menu presents an array of Morrocan dishes, and the cocktails and wine selection is lovely. I enjoyed the Morrocan mojito (loved it) and mango-infused margarita. For starter we had the hummas plate served with warm pita bread, which was very nice.
We ordered to main dishes and shared them, a good choice for sure. Our server selected a perfect red wine and delivered a perfect pairing for our main course. The first main course was lamb royal over a bed of seasoned chickpeas and couscous with rich carrots and potatoes with a subtle sweetness. It was wonderful, and I will be dreaming about it for days.
We also enjoyed a lovely short rib dish also served with couscous. The best was the tender meat sweetened subtlety with a dried plum or raisin of some kind. It was tender and... I couldn't stop eating it.
We finished the evening in the lounge downstairs - hookah cave. Loved it. Atmosphere was beautiful, cocktails on point. It was a very nice conclusion to our evening.
The service is outstanding! The place is nicely decorated and the food is delicious! I will highly recommend this place! Plus, the dancing show is beautiful!
Happy New to all starting my New Year in the happiest place
Servers are great and always focused on you. Food was outstanding. Definitely going back.
