Food
This just became my favourite Chinese restaurant in Boston, and I am Chinese, so I think that means something. They have a lot of American Chinese food, but if you look closely they have a lot of unique dishes that you won’t easily get in America. My favourite is their fan fried eels in casserole.
Everything else
The overall service was good, but ever since our waitress learned about when I am from, she became super friendly. However, they don’t allow reservations for two people, so you may not know how long you would need to wait for a table.

We ordered take-out dishes for 8 people. This is NOT Asian fusion style restaurant! This is authentic flavor of Guangdong style restaurant. Lobster is really good!

Malay tofu here is super good! We came here to try their popular fried squid but seems like not as good as others talking about. But the duck noodle and Malay tofu was a bomb here. Overall experience here is fun and enjoyable. Food is good. So why not stop by :)

Hands down my fav restaurant in Boston. It’s especially delightful when visited in a large group. Ironically, I rarely had seafood here, but the salt and pepper fried squid never fails to please me. A blessing in BU campus!

Best Chinese seafood restaurant in Boston area!!! Every fish we ordered is fresh, flavorful and super yummy!!! And not expensive at all for seafood.

Delicious food. The salt and pepper lobster was amazing. We also had fried rice, vermicelli noodles, snow pea tip leaves, walnut shrimp, and flounder. Everything was delicious and you get huge portions. I can't believe it took me this long to try this place. I am definitely coming back.
Was service great? No but honestly it's what you expect when you come to an authentic Chinese restaurant. Don't expect politeness here. Expect blunt efficiency. You don't go to a good Chinese restaurant for hospitality. You go for delicious food.

This is one of the popular Chinese restaurant in the area near BU. Not only because the reasonable price and the portion of the food; the quality of the Cantonese style dishes make me a return customer. Like I mentioned, the relatively large portion are welcome especially for the college student. One dish I want to mention is the fried rice, if you want to understand “Wok Hay” by Uncle Roger, try it yourself.

Best option is the $78 for two, including lobster, garlic chickens, roast pigeon, vegetable, soup and rice.

Don’t overlook this Cantonese seafood hideout by its unassuming frontage on the Commonwealth Ave. Besides a lack of natural light on the inside, you’d find everything you want from an authentic Chinese diner that’s perfect for friends’ gathering or a day-to-day cafeteria.
The waiters here are personable and efficient. The price point is ethical. And the dishes…you definitely won’t be complaining.
Since the day I discovered this place, I can’t help but including it into my weekly frequent list. For the number of unique yet authentic Cantonese dishes that they offer, it’s gonna take a while before I can exhaust all.

We ordered a lot of meat chicken shrimp and everyone enjoyed. All of these are well cooked. 糯米鸡 was chicken filled with rice which was new to me. Pigeon was nice we ordered two and finished them. Fish was fresh too. The only thing matters might be that it is a little expensive.

Decent casual spot for Chinese food.
It was quite the experience getting an 8 pound lobster for the table. It was fine but definitely not worth the exorbitant price. The meat to shell ratio was not in our favor and I think because of how big the lobster was, the flavor just didn’t penetrate into the meat as much as it should have. The experience of breaking down a massive sea creature made the experience worth it but never again!
Peking duck was also not particularly exciting. Lots of skin and not a lot of meat. The beef + ginger and onion hot pot was pretty good but had way too much ginger. Like I’m pretty sure there were several layers of it at the bottom. Not a huge problem because I love ginger but it could have used more meat!

This fish is so fresh and tender. Def recommend this to anyone wanting to try fresh fish. The stir fried beef noodles are so tasty too!

We had the clams and black bean sauce and king Tao pork. Both entrees were delicious. They only have a beer & wine license so you cannot get a Mai Tai! ;) Our server was excellent. The food came out in a timely manner and it was piping hot! The women's bathroom was clean. They should dim the lights a little in the evening. It was very bright like a school's cafeteria. It was busy with BU students eating. Its location is perfect for going out to Club Paradise afterwards.

A classic no frills, all substance Chinese restaurant. It is a deceptively large location, with space for larger parties in the back. Not only do they have live seafood tanks, where you can choose from an assortment of fish or crustaceans, but also offer roasted duck and the nostalgic pu'pu'platter.
Bei Baio
One of the very best seafood restaurant! So fresh and delicious, their salt and pepper calamari and ginger/scallion lobster is my favorite. Staffs are very friendly, there are so many dishes to choose from on the menu. No wonder there is always a long wait, it surely worth it.

Good lunch specials and fast service. I've been coming to Victoria Seafood for 20 years, back when it had twin lobster specials for $9.95.
July 2022: Update: Victoria Seafood came under new ownership in 2020, according to one of the employees I asked. This explains why I see one of the former waiters working in another restaurant. The food is still good, but the lunch specials are now $12.95. The furniture and carpeting are the same. The restaurant is no longer Cantonese, but more Mandarin style. No more soy sauce and homemade chili oil on the tables. On the plus side, the restaurant accepts American Express now.
The first 6 photos are from the old restaurant. The rest are from July 2022. With tip, I spent $17 on lunch. The hot and sour soup and the general Gao's chicken were both good. The service was better than under the previous owner.i

Every dish we ordered was perfect, especially the sticky rice-stuffed chicken wings(need to be pre-ordered)
