Merengues as a food destination has been on my list for quite some time now, and I'm pleased to say I was not disappointed in the slightest 😊. Once you walk in, you feel right at home with the neighborhood energy and charm. Decorum is creative; I'm pretty sure there's a moped hanging from the ceiling 😅. The food was wonderful, with old-school portions that left you feeling full with extra to food to take home. We didn't have to wait very long, and the service had us feeling right at home. I will definitely revisit 💯

I haven't been in many years and they never disappoint. Brought my husband for the first time and he got the stewed chicken and Spanish rice mixed with beans and it was amazing. The service is always good and the ambiance welcoming. Can't wait to comeback.

Food is always on point. So delicious. However, I think my daughter and I got food poisoning after eating here. My daughter told me she vomited when she got home. I didn't notice anything until the next day. I tried to eat breakfast and threw it up. My stomach hasn't felt right for days. May not be visiting Merengue again for some time.

Parking can be tricky but not super bad, I would recommend use street parking. Food was good temperature and the taste was also good. The service was fast and good. Only aspect that wasn't as a good thing as everything else was the bathroom, it needed some attention for example the lock was kinda messed up, but it shouldn't be a deal breaker, because so many other things there are worth the visit.

I indulged in their breakfast offering, which is remarkably hearty—essentially a dinner masquerading as a morning meal. The menu featured an enticing blend of mashed plantain, salami, and fried white cheese, all beautifully accented by sautéed red onions. Both the price and value are unparalleled, making it a must-visit for those seeking an unforgettable dining experience.

Second time here love the remodeling. The food was awesome and we didn't have to wait long. The only thing was the coffee machine was broken😪. Overall I will definitely recommend anyone to go there🥰🙏👏

Ambience here is really nice. The place has beautiful art work and scenery the music is great and the service as well. Love walking into a place that feels like home in terms of culture. The food is seasoned really well and everything seems very authentic.

Best Dominican food in Boston! My Dominican mother in law was skeptical at first, but when she tried it was blown away by how much it tasted like her mom’s from when she was alive. I highly recommend the salami y queso to start and steak for main course (all options are amazing)! Don’t forget the garlic sauce for the steak, maduros (sweet plantains) and passion fruit smoothies! The atmosphere is wonderful as well, music, paintings, general environment , all very immersive and easy to picture being back on the island. All of this, and it’s affordable!

Only problem too much food! It was hot quick and my entire Dominican family loved it. They played bachata the entire time but it's called merengue😂

I have been here three times and the food is amazing! This time I took my parents with me. They ordered their usual plates. I wanted to try the lobster rice. I was wowed! Usually when have seafood dishes the plate comes out salt forward. However my rice came out perfect. Delicious and full of flavor. Not dry. Ordered a side of fried plantains. I always eat good with their healthy portions and pricing is fair for the quality of food. The bad apart of it is the servers. Our first server must have been having a bad day. She forgot to bring silverware for 3. Threw a menu at the table. We immediately asked for another server and they made it happen. Smooth sailing from there! I would recommend this to anyone looking for authentic spanish cuisine! Plus the artwork there is inspiring. #DiamondSquad

Overall experience and food was good. Nice vibes in the restaurant while i was picking up our takeout order. I did have to wait 15 min after my pick up time for the food to be ready. Maduros and tostones are great, but I wish the tostones came with a sauce. Definitely order one on the side. The chicken a la plancha was good but a little under seasoned. The steak was very good! I’d come back but maybe try eating in the restaurant.

Great food and service every time with very reasonable prices. Expect a bit of a wait but worth it
