I love this place. You have to come early to get the good stuff. If you come past 12 then it's slim pickings...but I love this place so much that I'll settle for slim pickings 😅 I didn't even get to take a picture of what I bought cause we already dug into it 🤣2 hr drive! Yes we're definitely filling our stomach up with this first lol

WOW WOW WOW!!! What a great place! Being Moon cake season, there are so many different types available. The staff behind the counter can be a bit matter-of-fact. That's ok. It adds to the mystique and authenticity of this bakery. We ordered the old wife cookie and the white sugar rice cake. So so good. Words can't describe what those 2 items take us back to our childhood. Enjoy!!!

BEST BUN EVER! My friend recommended this place to me and told me to get their large meat bun (大包) only. The bun is HUGE and they stuffed an egg, sausage, and Cha xiu pork along with the regular pork inside. For $2.5 you really can't ask for more.

Roast pork buns are $1.50 and are soooo goooood. The red bean moon cake was delicious and different, too. This place is a must if you're in the area

I had a days-long craving for mooncakes just AFTER mid-autumn festival and found myself calling Chinese bakery after bakery asking if they still had them. Lucky for me, this one did. They were a bit pricy ($6-$8) but, bear in mind, they were HUGE. It took me three days just to finish one. Also they accepted cash only.

This place definitely brings back good old memories of baked goods such as pork buns, dumplings 粽子 and various types of cookies. You should never miss this!

Just tried a very simple thing and I love it. Unfortunately, I had no time to go back to try others.

Hing Shing is always great! There is always a wide selection of breads, buns, and various pastries. Everything is fresh and easy to order/know what you are getting if you may only know English.

Very nice. The taste is authentic and the lady is very kind. Gave us a dollar off because we were a dollar short in cash. The place is cash only.

I love this place. The pastries are perfectly soft and slightly sweet. My go-to is the pork bun, and if I'm feeling adventurous I order the hot dog bun or egg custard. The parties are consistently delicious and baked to perfection. I always order a ton of them when I go to visit my parents. I think this is the best bakery in all of Chinatown for those who are looking for savory buns.

This has been the Chinese bakery go-to my whole life. They have 1 display case with some items on the sides. Unfortunately when I went, weekday afternoon, a few of my faves were long gone. So I only got a few items. Char siu bao, etc. They have a swiss roll cake that is so yum too. But I can say that they are always consistent, everything I eat has tasted and looked the exact same for 4 decades. And the prices stay very cheap too. They only accept cash though.

The buns are doughier than the buns sold at some of the more modern bakeries in the area. Also, not as expensive compared to the other bakeries.

My favorite bakery in Chinatown. Definitely less polished than the others, but they know what they’re doing with those pineapple buns

I’ve been going to Hing Shing since college, when I found this bakery right at the gate of Chinatown that baked the most delicious, warm-from-the oven buns and tarts and cakes. For the 35+ years since, it has been my first stop whenever returning to Boston. The sweet bun with the crispy “pineapple” cookie topping, the savory bun with unctuously good roast-pork filling, the delicate egg-custard tarts in their flaky pastry shells, and the crispy-chewy deep-fried sesame balls with sweet red-bean filling are all musts! The prices are unbeatable, too.

Good place to get some authentic Cantonese bake goods, small place and has a bit less options than other bakeries, but a lot of items are freshly made.
