Roof top bar, local brews and a delicious chef inspired menu. A hidden gem in East Boston
This is my spouse and I new favorite place we have been at least a dozen times since being open. Sid is a delight and one of the reasons we keep coming back . Food is good , great atmosphere and great beer list
Had my wife’s 40th bday at the Cunard Tavern this past Saturday. Discussed the menu with the head chef prior to our arrival and settled on a sampler of apps for 20 people (+\-). The food was by far the best we’ve had in Boston in a long time! Our entire group decided to stay and hangout at the bar after dinner since we felt so comfortable. Will most certainly be back again soon!
Highly recommend the scallop dish!! Seared scallops on top of corn and lobster salad. Loved the atmosphere and fun cocktails. Can't wait to revisit soon!
UPDATED REVIEW:
After my first few times in I left a so-so initial 3/4 start review. I'm pleased to say they've been really upping their game and have found their groove. I've now been in 6+ times and I think this is becoming my new favorite place in the area.
BTW.. It's also just the perfect brunch fix I've been seeking in the area. The french toast casserole is incredible.
5 Stars well deserved :-)
Everything here is amazing. All of the apps are great (and I've tried them all!) but the Cuban Spring Rolls and Bacon Wrapped Blue Cheese Suffered Dates are my favorites. The Cunard Burger and Brick Chicken are especially good, and service and atmosphere are great! Love this place.
We had a small party on the roof deck this past Thursday and everything was perfect! We had passed apps and each tray that came our was better than the previous one. I think my favorite was the bacon wrapped dates stuffed with Gorgonzola... good lord! The service was great, the bartender was friendly, and I'll be going back soon.
Definitely one of my best meal I had in a while, great food and services.
Thank you Chef Alex and the team
A perfect spot for dinner with friends! Amazing food and drinks, wonderful staff and an excellent atmosphere. Can't wait to go back!
We came here because it was in walking distance of Downeast. We were not disappointed. Atmosphere was very hip, groovy for a Friday night. Service was fast. Food was veryyyy tasty. I wish the portions for appetizers were more clear. We got mushroom ravioli (not pictured) which only came with 2. But the hummus (pictured) was HUGE! You might want to ask first 🤷🏼♀️
Overall, we were so happy with this spot
Return visit for late afternoon dining, and it didn't disappoint. Friendly staff, casual atmosphere, excellent food. Tried the Brussel salad with shrimp and for an appetizer, the tricolor hummus, delicious.
I had a marvelous time here as a first visit with a buddy. The food was delicious and drink options plentiful. Great atmosphere, too! Rose was a delight at the bar. We're definitely coming back!
EDIT: I have been back a few times and it continues to not disappoint! It's now been over a year and it's still one of my favorite places.
I really want to give this place five stars. There's a lot to like. They've got some good options for food and for drinks, the staff has been great the two or three times I've been, and overall, a nice place to eat. Not wanting to devalue my other five-star ratings, I'll be a bit critical and say that the Brussel sprouts were a little too firm, the chicken and waffles were a little too dry, and not having a mac & cheese dish on their menu full-time is silly (it is on their kids menu and they have some sauce, maybe a chipotle aioli, that kicks it up a couple notches). A few years ago I added a scrambled egg to a tater tots dish (brunch menu) and that was great, now I don't see tots on the menu at all. Rotating menus keep things fresh, but at the cost of losing some favorites. Solid four and a half stars.
Food is good. Service is friendly and quick. Cool atmosphere. Price point seems reasonable for the neighborhood. The hummus trio was delicious and had interesting unique flavors. Our mains were ok, didnt blow out minds but would still come back and try something else.
This is now our favorite spot to go to for amazing food, great service and super chill vibe. My husband was skeptical but I was "pregnantly" persistent 🤣. Now we have been to Cunard Tavern 2 nights in a row and the food & service gets better and better.
The appetizers, the spicy chicken sandwich and the banana pudding are to-die-for, mind-boggling mmm-mmm-good! I can't get enough of it and i look forward to bringing my family here and trying everything else in the menu. I highly recommend this place! Five stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from this Google reviewer all the way.
OK open-space restaurant in Eastie. They had no clue about our reservation for five--had to show them. Eventually they found us a table. Unbelievably noisy on a Sunday afternoon, with all hard services. But pleasantly lively and the food was good.
The drinks were perfectly blended and sweet potato fries was amazing. Most don't do it right and there limp. But they had a nice crisp to them n crunchy. They played some nice house music and the service was quick as well as friendly.
The Atmosphere of Cunard Tavern is great. Highly recommend if you are stopping in for a drink. The cocktail menu is always interesting and tasteful.
I think the food leaves something to be desired, the steak frites if good, I would suggest ordering the cooking temperature one level higher than you normally do, as it’s usually a little more raw than most places.
It’s definitely a good cocktail stop before making your way to tall ship.
We come here about once a month after a Downeast trip. Food is really good: both burgers are great. The spring rolls and the bacon wrapped dates are good appetizers. Seating is also great, especially in the summer when they have the whole place opened up
We stopped here for dinner on our first night in Boston and were were blown away. The servers were so friendly and kind, and the food was delicious. We ordered drinks, burgers, shrimp and fish Tacos, poutine, raw oysters, and beignets for dessert. The oysters were super fresh and refreshing- and at a great price. The poutine was also great- it was better than poutine I've had in Canada! We devoured it all in no time. The highlight of our night, however, were the beignets. They were drizzled in peanut butter and chocolate, resting atop a soft bed of fluffy, white marshmallow spread. It was crispy on the outside but soft and chewy on the inside. For all the toppings on it, the beignets were actually not too sweet, but are instead perfect for the adult (or child!) palate. Overall, highly recommend!
Our experience at Cunard was great. We went after work and arrived after the kitchen had closed the service. Even so, host Kesy made a point of making every effort to offer us something. She brought a great cold cuts board! Kesy also helped us with suggestions for drinks, always striving so that we had the best experience there. She was fantastic. The atmosphere is quite cool and we will be back soon to try other dishes on the menu and new drinks. I highly recommend.
Saw this on Phantom Gourmet and said I gotta go! We went for brunch and it was very nice-music was a bit too loud, but diverse chic crowd and space. Food was superb- shared the stuffed dates (couldn't taste the blue cheese though not a bad thing in my case), then each got an entree. Sweet potato hash with fried eggs, crema, and toast for me-really flavorful and delicious. Grilled corn arepas with fried eggs and bacon for my partner which needed some hot sauce but otherwise great. Worth the trip and price :)
This is a fun and lively place. The rooftop bar has a decent view. The food and drink options were more than just typical bar food but less than a higher end restaurant. Great place for a casual and fun night out.
