Originally wanted the spicy tuna burrito but because of a misunderstanding I ended up with the Tuna poke bowl. Y’all…this slapped! The guacamole, tuna and sauce brings so much flavor to the plate I love it.
I frequent here for lunch and in regards to flavor they might not go home with the gold medal but they for sure take it home for how healthy and fresh the food is. You feel great after eating.
My criticism in regards to flavor; the veggies need a little love that’s all.
Shout out to the new kid on staff who put it together, I wish I could remember his name. It was delicious.
Really good! Fully gluten free. Felt healthy but had great flavor. Would love to try some other things.
Market noodles with shrimp-Very good!
Steak tacos- Very good!
Chicken tacos- Good!
I'm writing this review as I sit here chowing down on a burrito and potstickers (aka dumplings). I'm celiac and my husband got to enjoy a sourdough bowl of chowder up in the market, so then we had to find food for me. Score! The spicy tuna burrito is so delicious and the tortilla didn't fall apart. The potstickers were amazing, I haven't had one in years. Also, don't miss the blueberry soda. Just 3 ingredients, I enjoyed it so much when normally I don't do soda. Topped it off with a brownie! I'm visiting and this place has made me jealous of locals who get to enjoy it!
Yay for GF options! Overall, a great experience! Rice noodles disintegrated, but I’m used to that in gluten free dishes. Chicken was delicious, peanut sauce was a tasty but a little thick, needed a little more heat, veggies were AMAZING. Kale/bok choy and broccoli was the best. I had high hopes for the GF dumplings, but they managed to be both crunchy and dry on the outside and mushy on the inside. Thai basil lemonade is awesome! Overall, really fun space, great seating upstairs, and we will remember this place next time we are in Boston!
I like the bowl I made and their tacos were pretty cool as well. This Asian fusion cuisine truly packs some flavor for all to enjoy. Ingredients looked super fresh and things were constantly being grilled and restocked as needed. Lemon grass steak tacos and the teriyaki bowl both were good portion and reasonably priced. Also the seating at this location is extensive. Both floor level and upstairs dining.
Ordered takeout so I can't comment on the service or atmosphere really but I ordered the curry bowl. It was way too spicy, and wasn't labeled on the website. It's good, but I might've considered ordering something else had I known. I think they should indicate that on the menu.
I got the OG crispy tofu bowl with crispy shallots and edamame. The variety of veggies is good with awesome textures. It was a bit heavy on the sweet potato, though.
Dedicated gluten free: safe for celiacs. The menu is varied Asian fusion, they have tacos too. Both were good. Sometimes restaurants have too many options but this was well integrated.
I get takeout from here if I don’t want to worry about cross contamination for celiac, it’s also got a variety of flavor.
Southeast Asian inspired fast food that is great for a quick meal or lunch.
Recent came by to try their miso ramen with the lemongrass steak. When I finally got the bowl, I realized that it was a ramen in name only. The noodles used for the ramen were rice noodles typically used for Pad Thai, and most of the other toppings such as the pickled carrots and kale salad looked like salad bowl toppings. Nevertheless, the bowl actually turned out to be pretty good. Their approach to the dish was certainly unconventional, but with fresh ingredients and quality steak, it felt like eating a warm salad with a broth. Would probably return to try their other bowls.
I had the street tacos which were incredible. Gluten free. Dairy free. Absolutely fantastic. They were out of dumplings when I came but i will be back every time I'm in Boston in the future.
Fast food options similar to Sweetgreen and Chipotle. You can make your own bowl, or select from premade options. Price was decent, many healthy and wholesome choices, such as brown rice and various veggies. Good option for lunch, and still cheaper than Sweetgreen.
One of the best restaurants in all of Boston. I'm a Celiac and it's tough to find places that are truly Gluten Free. Grainmaker is a place that has an entirely GF menu. Not only that but the food is spectacular. I ordered a whole stir fry dish and finished it all in one sitting. It was fresh, tasty, and delicious. What was best was I didn't even feel bloated after which confirms this is a safe spot for Celiacs. The staff at this location are so friendly and nice as well. Finally, the location is in the heart of Downtown Boston and you can't beat that!!
I've been to Grainmaker around 30 times in the past month and a half. Sometimes twice in a day. Hands down one of the best takeout lunch places in Downtown Boston.
Everything they make has attention put into it, and it shows. For example, instead of just throwing some mushy bok choy in your rice bowl, they wok fry greens with a tasty sauce. Instead of giving you some mango on top of your rice, it's a medley of mango, peppers, and other complimenting flavors.
After trying almost everything in the menu, I'll say that my favorite is the Crowd Pleaser, but they unfortunately recently stopped selling it.
Great place to grab some lunch. Ample seating available, tap water and infused water. Got the chef curry with chicken. Flavors we're well balanced and the portion size was quite generous. I appreciated that there was the option of using reusable bowls if you choose to dine in. One star was taken off for the cleanliness of the bathroom.
Great place to grab lunch from during work! The location is great and in the financial district so its easy to get to. We go here frequently and they always have great food. The shrimp tacos are amazing and so is the orange line. They also have seasonal menu items so its always exciting to try the new ones. Would definitely recommend!
Clean. Delicious. Fast. Friendly. I had a great experience here. Was helped by the founder who made my bowl with love and care. The atmosphere and laid back feel of the dining room with the kickin’ tunes was welcome in the heart of the hectic downtown Boston area. I seriously recommend anyone checking this place out. The menu is so varied I’ll def be back to try some more dishes
