I know that this establishment gets a lot of hate from non-locals, but even though I, a native Texan, do feel that the place is hyped far too much, it is in fact good. They're good at what they do. The dogs and buns are fresh, they sides are what you would expect from a fast food spot except fresh, and I found myself actually enjoying a fast food experience - a rarity nowadays.

I love the saucebuns with cheese. Fill that bad boy up with fries and you've got yourself chili cheese fries that don't make a mess. Having said that the portions in my last visit were a joke. Ordered two sauce buns and the both came with barely a smear of chili and cheese. Well under half of the filling that is supposed to come with it, or at least has in years past. As a rule of thumb I don't send food back just because the portion I get is small, if that is what the restaurant intends to give me for the price I paid then so be it. If I had not already drove away I would have in this instance. Hopefully this was a mistake and not a new cost/portion cutting attempt. Still 4 stars in the hopes that this was just a isolated incident.

My family of 7 has always loved the food at Jaenike's. Sauce Dogs, Sauce buns,cheese curds are our favorites. So why only 4 stars ? Stay away from the drive up if you have a large order. Problems with their speaker system. Couldn't hear correctly even after shutting off my car. At drive up orders have been wrong 4 times.

I have to get a cheese dog and green river when I’m in town. Pretzels are good too, excellent root beer and floats. Remodel has added covered seating and bathroom.
