This place is cash only, so be ready for that. If not, they do have an ATM on-site. My daughter and I came here for lunch. We really enjoyed everything we got. It is all made to order and fresh.
After years of crushing Peanut-butter Chocolate malts, I recon it’s time we leave a review. As much as I’d like to sling 5 stars their way, I can’t do it. The first three items my wife ordered were each met with a prompt and harsh “can’t make that”. No apology, no explanation, but the a teen weave with a seeming bad attitude. Nevertheless, we ended up with items they could make, so that’s a plus. Food and shakes all came out at different times, but they were all pretty good. It’s cash only, so be prepared. All in all, was a good evening.

When I got to establishment everything it was nice and clean. You have to walk up and look at the menu on the windows. They have a lot of food to choose from. When I knew what I wanted I went to the window to order. The staff behind the window was very nice and friendly. She took my order and ask for a name. I ordered a strawberry milkshake and they had it ready within mins. Which was made with real ice cream and strawberries it was delicious and amazing. I also ordered a Philly cheese with French Fries. The only way you can pay is with the cash, but if you forget to bring cash they do have a ATM machine there. The rest of my order took about five or six minutes to come out. They take your order at one window and you pick up at another window. Pretty nice process, and the also have tables there where you can enjoy your meal. It’s outside but it do have two ceiling fans going. The wind blew some, so that was good as well. Everything was good I’m definitely going back to enjoy this establishment again. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone to enjoy.
Fun long term local gem. Order and eat outside to enjoy the beautiful Florida weather. Get the banana split!
I love this place! It is truly a Bradenton gem that has been faithfully serving our town the finest ice cream and comfort food for generations. Everything I've ordered has ALWAYS been well prepared with quality ingredients. The hard and soft ice creams are fantastic, as are the shakes. My favorite sandwich is the chicken BLT. Chick you know what can't compare to it in my opinion. My son and I always share a large chili cheese fries when we eat here. The hot dogs and hamburgers are great, too.

Cash only here. They do have an ATM machine on site. It is a small, cute place. I had the breaded tenderloin and a side of mushrooms. It was good, they put mustard on both sides of the bun, it was too much. I did not try the ice cream nor a burger, perhaps nice time I am in that area.
Lived in Bradenton all during the kids’ school years but moved away 15 years ago. This is the first time we’ve been back so we were delighted that the Shake Pit was still here and stopped in for quality burgers, fries and spooners! Aside from no inside dining, it was a definite blast from the past. Everything was as good as we remembered.
This place is like stepping back in time to where a meal was not based on how cheap and fast it can be done. The double cheeseburger with bacon was massive and was cooked to perfection right in front of me. The cheese dripped out the entire time I was eating every delicious bite. The fries were crispy and were also deep fried to a level of goodness that can not merely be described with words and must be experienced in person. It's the best burger you can get in Bradenton and make sure you bring cash because that's your ticket to what you see on the menu!!!
Five Stars for Shake Pit!!!
After driving by this place at least a hundred times, I was in the area with time to kill and of course an appetite... so it was about time to see what the Shake Pit was all about!
I ordered a cheeseburger, fries, soda, and a shake...

Good shakes. You really should accept credit cards. Kind of sleezy making people use your ATM and hit them for $3 just to buy your food.
We stopped in for a late night bite and got the biggest banana split that was amazing!! all the food was hot and so good. Ice cream, sundaes. Highly recommend.
The food was great. You sit outside in a covered area. I don't recommend going on a windy day unless you are getting food to go.
Shake Pit has become a staple of Bradenton. It's been around since before I was born. I love that their building has kept its classic design, while also updating its amenities. They have a very cool old style diner/bar on the inside, and plenty of shaded seating on the outside. You order out of a window in the front and then they call your name when your order is ready. Most people go there for their large amount of ice cream and shake items, but they also have simple food choices like burgers and fries, which are also pretty darn good. We ended up getting a cake ice cream with pieces of cake blended in and it was delicious! Most of the locals know about this place, but if you're visiting, this is definitely a great local place to check out and take the kids for ice cream and/or get a bite to eat!
Visiting from Boise Idaho, got wind of this place and decided to try it out. Note they are *CASH ONLY* so plan ahead. Every thing was awesome and probably the second best milk shake in my life. "Peanut butter fudge".
This place is a great place to go to their ice cream is great. I got a strawberry cheesecake ice cream cone made from scratch. It was the best ever.
