Salsa and chips:very good, margaritas:very good@$3.50, fajitas:very good, nachos:good. Service:slow, getting bill and checking out: painfully slow.
I've been twice, once during a rush and another when they were slow. Food and service were both pretty good. Salsa for chips and salsa could be thicker though. Lol
Phenomenal. Huge portions. Great food. Big drinks. Yahhhhoooo! MIT Excellente
Best Place!!. Every time we are in Bradenton we go here!! They have some of the best mexican food I have had since leaving Texas! Always a must! The service is great, helpful and knows everything about the menu!!
Wasn't sure about stopping in, but glad we did. Awesome service, and the food was good also. Great stop after a long day, and don't forget to have a margarita!
Great authentic and cheap Mexican food!
Not bad. The food is OK but they skimp. They use a cheap mozzarella instead of chihuahua on their chilaquiles (they didn't used to) and they use a crappy, overcooked rib eye instead of skirt steak for their carne asada, so you have to be careful what you order. Not much to choose from in this area so it’s worth going to but I like Los Cabos more. I will say that the service is excellent.

Arriba!. I love this restaurant. the price is as amazing as the food! taco tuesdays are fun and their meals any other day are amazing. i have never had a bad plate from this restaurant. the bartender really makes the trip worthwile - he makes sure everyone is happy and personally visits the tables, and remembers you after the first visit. love it!
Fiesta In My Mouth. This restaurant was a refreshing experience. After eating at mediocre places the past couple of days for the purpose of trying out "the local" fare we had been disappointed. So we saw that Mr. Tequila had the best reviews on this website and decided to trust the people. The people are correct. This place had stupendous service and excellent food. I had the fajitas and my wife had the beef tacos. Both were excellent. The food tastes good in your mouth.
GREAT Food AND Service!. Best Mexican restaurant in Bradenton area...hands down. Service is extremely fast and friendly. I go here for lunch at least once per week, and dinner once per month, and I have never had a bad experience with either food or service. This place gets 5 stars.
Delicious! Best Mexican restaurant in B-Town!
Best Mexican Restaurant in Sarasota/Bradenton area!. Mr. Tequila is the best Mexican restaurant in the Sarasota/Bradenton/Venice area! Great, authentic and cheap Mexican food! Great Mexican atmosphere! Nice quiet Mexican music. Very clean restaurant, too--very clean restrooms! All of the servers are Hispanic, so you can practice your Spanish! Mr. Tequila is located at the intersection of Cortez Rd. and 5th Street West, opposite DeSoto Square Mall.
My wife and I love the Burrito California, it's big enough that we share it!
Cool, colorful Mexican spot! Had the Quesa Birria Tacos and those were on point and it's a 4 taco order for like $14 which is a great deal. The chips and dip are ok, the dip is good, the chips would be better hot/warm. Also, wasn't a fan of the nachos, they definitely were different and smothered in onions (not my style, but maybe yours). The service was very friendly and from the looks of it they serve one of my favs at the Bar (DosaRitas or CoronaRitas) with big screen TV to watch sports. The let down for me were the beans, they weren't good at all, didn't have any rice, so I'll try that next time. I'd surely return for the Birria Tacos and drinks! Overall a nice spot that I'll return to though.
We had a nice dinner with family and friends. The Fajitas and Enchiladas were very good and served in plentiful portions. We also ordered the cheese queso and we all left full and satisfied. The restaurant was packed and the turn over of the tables seemed to be excellent.
First visit and we enjoyed our meal. Not upscale but still a cool, comfortable Mexican restaurant vibe. We were seated quickly and our server was attentive and informative. The salsa had good flavor, tasted fresh and house-made. I had the Tacos Michoacanos, street style, with pastor and carnitas and verde salsa. The flour tortillas were grilled and the marinated and roasted pork was tender and delicious. J-Lo had the Special Enchiladas with chicken topped with salsa Verde, queso fresco, red onions. The portions were substantial with 4 tacos and enchiladas. My only criticism would be their happy hour frozen Margarita price at $13.99. I’m sure they try to justify it’s price by shot volume, but it was too strong and overpriced as a casual dinner cocktail. But overall we enjoyed our dinner and experience.
One of the best places we have gone to for mexican tacos. The flavor of the food was great and wery tasteful, and the portions were more than in most places for the same price. The service was really good and the place, although crowded, wasn't unbearable. If you are around Brandenton and want maxican food, this place a very good option.
This is worth the drive from wherever you are right now! Don't let the standard strip mall outside fool you. It's fabulous inside and the drinks are fun and delicious 😋. The food is authentic and the chips and salsa are spot on!
Delicious tacos and burritos. Chips and salsa are the same as most places. Waitress was super friendly and our food came out quickly.
Fantastic restaurant with a fantastic staff. The food was fresh, and it reminded me of my time in Mexico. The music is loud enough to hear, but I am still able to have a conversation with the people with me. With it being located right near Cortez Plaza, this is definitely a recommendation for friends and family!
The boss lady had a hanker’n for tacos so we figured we’d try a new spot and stumbled up into Mr. Tequila’s. We tend to eat a little bit late and did not arrive to the restaurant until nearly 9 PM., and we were promptly seated. Service was great, food came out almost too quickly if that’s even possible! All tasted great. Beer was a little on the flat side, but everything else was solid so I’ll keep the 5th star for them. 🌮!
The food was great! Chips and salsa were a great start. Unfortunately our server was horrible. Not once did he come to our table after simply dropping off our food. We wanted to ask for hot sauce but he totally ignored us every time he would walk by us. Didn’t ask how everything was to even be able to complement how good the food was. He dropped the check on the table a walked away. I wanted to get fried ice cream but I never had a chance to ask for it. He came to take payment, took the money and walked away. Never asked if we wanted anything or even thanked us for coming. When leaving he was standing at the host area and didn’t acknowledge us in any way, even to look up and say goodbye. If we had a decent server the experience would have been great.
Compliments to the kitchen staff for the great food.
I love this place! The menu has changed since the last time I was there. I just wanted a ground beef burrito with red sauce and cheese, which wasn't on the menu. But they made itt for me, and by adding a margarita, my meal was perfect. Staff (and manager, I think) were very friendly and super nice. I need to make it a point to go there more often!
