One of my favorite places on the planet! The surfer sandwich NEVER disappoints.
Excellent visit. A friendly greeting when I arrived set the pace for the visit. I knew what I wanted, their famous Surfer sandwich, a circular shaped turkey and ham sandwich with Swiss cheese, thin slices of cucumber and their special mayo based Anna Sauce. While this was my first visit to this location I frequented the Orange Ave location for years. The sandwich today was great, just as I remembered.
I liked the place, bright and welcoming and clean. They have a TV where I could watch one of the World Cup FIFA matches between two teams I didn’t know. The staff seemed to enjoy working with each other and serving the trickle of customers that arrived while I enjoyed my lunch. It is a place you would look forward to stopping in for lunch.
The absolute BEST sandwich in town, bar none!! The "Siesta Special" hits it out of the park!!! Soft bread with tough crust and yummy stuff in between. I'm making myself hungry just thinking about it!!!! Don't miss it!
I crave this place. Sad to see that I am the 1st to leave a comment when so many people are missing out on a FANTASTIC place I am hooked love the unique style with the cucumber and special sauce, their is a ton of sandwich competition all around you and your sandwiches are the best over all of them just not with the fancy commercial name. I love the Surfer sandwich perfect sandwich to get a person hooked. Keep doing what you do I will keep coming back. LOVE IT !!!!!!!! I might add your employees do a great job for you we come in often on Sundays. Just saying ...
Best sandwich place around!! I always get the Surfer or the Cubanna and I’ve yet to be disappointed. It’s a cute little shop with great staff and service, they even wrap your leftovers up for you. Every single sandwich I’ve had here has amazed me in taste, idk how something that seems so simple can taste that great but they do it! Must be magicccccc!
Very good sandwiches. The surfer was thinly sliced ham and Turkey. Very tasty. Also did a hot pastrami. Could have been warmer and cheese a little melted. Sides are extra. No pickle slice w sandwich. Very good though but would order differently as this was first time here. Will be back. #stevensleavin

First time visit- Great sandwich !
We ordered The Surfer - Cali style(Roast Beef instead of Ham) on Marbled rye.
Bread was super fresh on a Sunday afternoon even.
Potato salad - Ask for a side of mustard and mix it in. Yum !!!
Sign says they opened in 2012 and if you look at the ceiling you can see it’s definitely vintage 30 years old.
Time to paint the grid, replace the tiles, and replace the lights !

Local, independent restaurants are always the best. Annie’s Deli is fantastic! Old school feel, relaxed vibe, homemade food. Get the Surfer.

Had time to kill and was told about this sandwich shop, thought I would give it a try.
Definitely was not disappointed, service was fast and the sandwich was delicious. Nice to see quality and friendly service.
The best sandwich. Period. I’ve going to Anna’s since I was a kid (the former Siesta Village location) and nothing has changed ... and that’s a good thing! Whenever I am visiting from out of state and if I am going to be even remotely close to Sarasota, I make a point to come get a Surfer on marble with extra Anna’s Sauce (i.e. Magic) and extra cucumber.

A friend reccomended this little Sandwhich shop and we decided to stop on our way out of town for the holiday.
The store was clean, the employees making food wore gloves and the smells were divine, a great sign.
All I can say is Yum. I ordered the Italianna it's a warm sandwhich, and my friend got the Villager.
The Villager has bologna, salami and swiss. I normally don't eat bologna, however, I tried a bite and it was delucious. The meats they use are on display and seem up be high quality.
I asked to have the Italianna with the Italian dressing on the side, I reccomend this to be sure you experience the best flavor profile. The ham, salami, pepperoni and house sauce they use with the melted provolone and fresh lettuce, tomatoes and onions is a taste explosion. I tried the Italian dressing, which is good, I just liked this sandwich better without it.
The only thing I did not care for was the potato salad, it was very bland.
They have won a couple of local awards for good reason, if your in the area give this busy lunch spot a try I'll be back.
The BEST sandwiches in town! Always consistent, great friendly staff and always clean. My favorite sandwiches are the Surfer and the Italian (pictured), if you haven’t tried them I would suggest you give them a shot and you will mot be disappointed!

Been wanting to try this place for a while and so glad I did! Reminded me of NY deli. Roast beef was rare and melted in your mouth. Very fresh bread and ingredients. I only wish I tried it sooner! You won’t be disappointed!

Everything about this place is amazing!! The staff is so sweet and the sandwiches/soups are just delicious! I describe their hot Italiana sandwich like getting a warm hug from a relative you haven’t seen in a while! Definitely a must try if you haven’t!
