Everything is always delicious and the service is exemplary in this lovely intimate restaurant. The sushi is the most fresh and flavorful in the entire area and masterfully prepared. The homemade soy sauce adds a wonderful note to the already incredible fish. Portions are generous for the price and quality. I love this place!

Very expensive for what you get. We did takeout... the portions are tiny and the side salad is laughable. The chicken tasted good but overall the food was just ok for what it was. The amount of noodles and vegetables didn't even cover the bottom of the styrofoam box. There are several other Japanese restaurants in Brandon that have excellent food and much larger portions for less money.

The food is fresh and very delicious. My favorite is the cat eye sushi and also the shrimp fried rice. Lovely and intimate atmosphere and friendly staff. The hubby and I always look forward to going to Yokohamas.

I will give this restaurant a 5, not because their food is out of this world or anything like that but because of their service. The staff was patient and informative when I had several questions about their menu. Their restaurant was beautifully decorated, had nice dim lights, and was relatively quiet. I love places like that. Their Chicken broth soup was pretty good. Their lemonade was kind of bland. They make their own yum yum sauce. It's not like any other version of yum yum sauce I had and I'm speaking in terms of taste and color. Their hibachi was pretty good but for the price you pay I think they should've given a little more starch (rice or noodle) than what they actually give. I will say, my steak was well done but still pretty tender so that makes up for it.
I heard the business has been around for about 14 years. I can see why and I hope their business continues to flourish.

I cannot recommend this place enough. My husband and I absolutely love Japanese food, and sushi is my favorite food of all time. I have been to countless sushi restaurants my whole life and this restaurant BY FAR has the best sushi I've ever had. We have been here twice already and each time we are blown away by the food - it is that outstanding. We have tried the squid ika ring, negimaki, and my husband's favorite, the yakisoba (spicy). Each time we are pleasantly surprised by something new. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The food is very authentic and the sushi is so fresh. Everything about this restaurant is amazing, from the beautiful, traditional Japanese decor (it feels like you've stepped into Japan) to the wonderful, kind, and friendly wait staff. Every time we come in, the waitresses remember us and we feel like family. Everyone working there is so kind and polite. :) We've lived in Brandon for two years and I can't believe we didn't find this place sooner! It is absolutely a hidden treasure within a strip mall that I believe everyone who loves Japanese food should try at least once.

Amazing good...slow service. We didnt do anything too adventurous here. Just a cucumber roll , teriyaki roll, miso soup, yakisoba, and sping rolls.<br/><br/>Best spring rolls ever, and the yakisoba should be the stuff of legends. <br/><br/>The service was very slow be prepared to spend some time if dining on Sunday night. Great experience...we were not in a hurry.

Horrible sushi and rude service. The sushi I received was way overlooked and the rice was tough. When I informed the waitress (who never checked on us and I had to ask another waitress to ask her to come to our table) she basically acted like I was wrong and didn't know what I was talking about. When I told her I was stationed in Japan for several years and It was the worst sushi I had ever had she just scoffed and me. I then said I'm not going to pay for my dinner it became another argument because I had apiece of sushi from each of the three rolls I had ordered. I tried to explain to her that I had to try a piece to know if it was any good. I ended up leaving cash for my drinks and just leaving. We wrote a letter to the better business Bureau and swore never to come again. Ill spare you their reply to our complaint but it was not a true account of what actually happened.

Yokohama is our favorite "hole in the wall, stellar sushi & entrees, great service, always busy but you're always seated right away even at 6:30 on Friday" place. It's somewhere we bring out-of-towners, and we are there regularly. My husband gets the Sukiyaki every time & it's a sizzling plate of beefy magnificence. A++ in my book.

My absolute favorite restaurant!. I have been enjoying Yokohama Japanese Restaurant for over a year! THe sushi is fresh, tasty, and a great value for the cost. I absolutely love this place! The staff is pleasant, they can't do enough to ensure that the experience is memorable. The owners take great pride in their food and are two of the most warm, wonderful people I've ever met. Bottom line: I highly recommend Yokohama...you won't be sorry....it's special.

Awesome Place. As soon as we entered the place we were greeted very friendly! The staff is warm and friedly and helps in finding the right dish too! We had a sushi plate and some handpicked ones, including appetizers like edamame, soup and salad. Everythng was freshly prepared, even the soy sauce is homemade and you can taste that!<br/><br/>When we were finished eating we even thought about another round as the food was soooooo goood! Go for dessert too and finish with a glassof Sake for a very fine and enjoyable dinner. Enjoy this Absolutely best in town place.

I am so mad right now. Horrible horrible customer service and disgusting food!! We ordered 4 rolls that was just bad. We tried a piece from each one but they were all bad. We told the waitress to take the food back because we could not eat it. It was salty snd overcooked. She demanded we pay half price without even offering us something else to eat She told us because we tried the food we are expected to pay for it. We told her we would not because we didn't eat the food. She got so upset and told us we should not come back to their restaurant and take our business ellswhere. She was rude as heck and we have never had such poor service before. The problem is not how bad the food was because you can get bed food anywhere. The problem is with the disrespectful service.

Will give it another try, but.... Waited 1 hour and 10 minutes for a to go order. Fried rice was done in 40, but the let it sit and get cold in a box on the counter while i waited for the rest. For the price, the portions were small, especially the rice. For $14 they made a handful of fried rice with five shrimps. They gave us cold edamame. No offer of comp for poor service or cold food.

Fabulous!. Best Sushi in Brandon...all I have to do is call, give my name and they know what I want....there aren't to many places you can do that these days. Everyone is always so nice and the prices are comparable if not lower in some cases. Love this place!!!

Good food, good service. I loved Yokohama! I ordered the Gyuniku (beef) Tataki and loved it! The ponzu sauce was wonderful and the greens it was served on were very fresh. The service was good and very friendly. It was way more authentic than Joto, Kobe, Tokyo or Ryuu. 4 1/2 / 5 stars!

My husband and I tried Yokohama for the first time last week. WOW! It was so great! The staff was so nice and attentive. And the sushi was amazing! We are going back tomorrow. We ordered the Caterpillar Roll, Key West Roll, and Cat's Eye Roll. We cannot wait to go back and order them again! We have tried a few sushi restaurants in the Brandon area and this one is by far THE BEST!

Mediocre. Was not at all impressed with this restaurant. The service was definitely lacking, had to request several times for the waiter to bring out more water, more this, more that. The miso soup was good, but everything else was not. Ginger salad was not at all what it normally tastes like, the dressing was very acidic. Teriyaki chicken lacking flavor and tasted processed and the side of noodles didn't taste like anything. Overall, did not seem very authentic and I have had much better. Would not go here again.

Great Food. So, this was a special occasion for me and my girlfriend, she recommended the place but I was a bit skeptical at first when there were more prominent places in my mind (joto's and kobe had just opened up). <br/><br/>It was great, so much so that now several months after having eaten there I felt obligated to write this review. I do slightly recall the sushi taking a little long to get out however once it did I could not stop stuffing my face. The super volcano roll is among some of the best sushi I've ever had. In the end I felt bad for my girlfriend cause we decided to go dutch on this date.
