The food has always been very good! However, I would believe if the leader would incorporate a chèvre, or something similar with the wraps other than traditional feta it would taste a little better, since chèvre is a goat cheese, and the cheese section in Kroger has just expanded. I love getting food from here whether it be on lunch break, family oriented, or otherwise. I’d like some Kalamari. I’ve never had time issues with in house or delivery. Kismets has always been very satisfying, and I’ll always keep this restaurant in my mind for myself and guests. To all the rest….yuppies and haters!
As, to the photos… there was hardly anything left of the broccoli fritters, extra large gyro, and grilled shrimp gyro because my wife and 2 year old ate most of it!!!:)

Would give zero stars if I could. Have not been in years, went in and received horrible service. Iced tea with no ice, I did not get my basket of fries, messed my order up. I told the cashier, which I believe is owner, the service was poor and she told me the girl was new, I said I understand that and someone needs to help her. She told me she had retired and that this was the way of the world now. I do not recommend at all.

We used to frequent Kismet's when we lived in Rankin Cty over a decade ago, and now, we make sure to visit when we are in this area. Great food and service, all at a great price. Fresh ingredients, and food served piping hot. Super friendly staff!

Apparently, in the fifth century BC some Phoenicians sailed for Alexandria via Greece. But, they ended up in New Orleans. There, they opened a Greek restaurant. Thinking they were in Goshen, they went inland to look for the pyramids and ended up in Brandon. They liked it there so they opened a restaurant selling gyros and poboys to the natives. And it's that way still today.
Regardless of the history, Kismet's is a good place to eat and be satisfied. It's sandwiches of various notable cultures. The gyro, poboy and cheeseburger are well represented. It seems like there were several other things on the menu. I had the gyro and it was good with an abundance of meat. The onion rings are also very good.
This is not a chain. It's patrolled by people who are friendly and look after you very carefully. It was also well staffed (friendly people abounded).
So go. It's a place of generous abundance. The only scarcity is scarcity itself.

Found this place when I saw an event for a live comedic dinner theatre event. Pretty simple interior. The live actors did a fairly good job and it was entertaining. Definately a different experience. The restaurant does have their own menu but for the dinner theatre experience, the menu was pre decided. To be honest, the food was not good. The salad was not good and the Cucumbers in the salad were not fresh. Was not a fan of the entree. Got the fish and rice with some remoulade sauce on it and the broccoli was not flavorful. Also had the gyro with mozarella cheese which was definately not good. I chose the cheesecake option for dessert which was pretty low quality. One thing I have to say though is the service and staff were excellent. I may come back just to try the menu itself but wouldn't do the preordered menu again.

I came here a lot as a kid with my dad who has since passed, so this place is special. I love that not much has changed in all those years.
One thing that has changed a little is the menu, and by that I mean it has expanded. They have so much good stuff to choose from! I can honestly say my salad today was one of the best I’ve had in a long time. The service is FAST, and the staff are so friendly. I’d give them ten stars if I could.

It was okay food we got a gyro which was pretty good but also got a beef dip which had small amount of beef. And the garlic fries were not very good.

LOVE the boho atmosphere, it's beautiful and colorful just how I like It! The servers are AMAZING! I highly recommend the feisty feta dip. It was glorious and I'm a finicky eater. Fried pickles were awesome too! Our server chose his favorite sandwich for my husband since he told him to make it a surprise. When that French dip came out I was in awe. It was the most delicious thing I've had in my mouth in a long time. I had a shrimp poboy and it was great also. Just not as amazing as that French dip. I'm drooling thinking about that thing! It's a super casual place so you just grab a menu and pick your own seat while you enjoy the paintings, crafts and lovely books on display. Everyone who works there is super friendly and accommodating. 15/10 I highly recommend Kismets!!

This place has great gyro and seasoned fries. It is located right beside the Kroger's store in Brandon, Mississippi. If you are in the Brandon area and do not want to drive to Jackson for a gyro? This is the place to go.

Before we made a day trip, I checked on-line for area
restaurants, as we always wind up dining out when out for the day. When I saw
Brandon had a Greek restaurant, I didn’t have to look any further. When I saw
the great reviews, we knew that we had to try it. Unfortunately, the good
reviews weren’t true. Perhaps, the locals have never been out of Brandon, or
Mississippi, certainly not ever in Greece or an authentic Greek restaurant before,
but from our experience, their reviews were way off the mark. We did not have
an enjoyable dining experience. First, Kismet is not a Greek restaurant, though
they advertise as such. It’s all Southern food: po’boys, burgers, and such, and
one Greek item. The menu had one Greek item: gyros with slice beef and lamb in
a wrap. That was disappointing in
itself. The prices are exorbitant for what you get, which isn’t much. No side dishes accompanied the wrap. No fries
or salad. Nothing. Priced at $6.42 for a wrap at lunch was a bit high, but we
were prepared to pay for a good meal. Unfortunately, the hype was just that.
The Gyro was plain and bland. Even the extra sauce they provided didn’t help it
taste any better. We ordered home fries to go with the meal, but they presented
us with curly fries instead and we had to send them back. Since when we arrived
at Kismets at 11:35am, and it was quite empty we couldn’t figure out the mix-up
with the fries. We had to wait, but as
were finishing the wraps, we cancelled the fry order. Of course, while we sat
there waiting for our food, the business began to pick up. The fried green
tomatoes we ordered for appetizers were very good, and were nice and hot.

Naturally, when we went to pay at the entry counter, we
asked for the two unsweetened teas for free, since our fry order was messed up.
You would have thought we had slapped the older woman behind the counter, for
she was quite affronted and sneered, “We cancelled the fries.” “No,” I said
calmly. “I cancelled the fries because they were not the one we ordered, it took
so long, and we had already finished our wraps. We came here special an hour
away because we heard good reviews.” At that, the woman in white hair and glasses
tore up the receipt, growled, and motioned for us to get out. Naturally, we
were stunned, as we were just about to say thank you and we’ll be back, grateful
for good customer service, but at her rude behavior, we changed our minds. You would have thought we had asked for our
entire meal of $20.00 free. I guess the Kismet owners are independently wealthy
in order to be so rude, crude and abusive to customers. Talk about lack of
Southern hospitality. We’ve never been treated so poorly and we’ve lived and
traveled all over the country and overseas. With the exception of this
crotchety old woman checking us out, everyone else seemed very nice and
affable. And we did leave a tip for the waitress, though she messed up our
order, but less than we would have normally left. Heaven help you should you
complain about your order here. We have never heard of such treatment. They
treat you like dirt. Needless to say, we won’t be going back to Kismet. Who
would want to subject themselves to such treatment? The bathrooms need a
thorough cleaning, too. Not to mention,
the entire time we sat there, about a half an hour, I felt as if something was
crawling on my leg.

Overall, if you’re looking for a good Greek meal at a reasonable
price, Kismet Restaurant in Brandon isn’t it. The old lady needs a lesson in
customer service practices and the young, short waitress needs to pay attention
to what she is doing.

Kismet's is a favorite restaurant of ours in Brandon. They have very good Burgers. I like their Ruben as well. Prompt, friendly service. 👍

The food was great. I especially liked the hummus. The staff were friendly and helpful. This atmosphere is little eclectic but not off putting. Will be stopping by again.

Food is great. Service is fast and friendly. In the 15 years I have been eating here, I can honestly say I have never had a bad experience. The worst thing about it is parking is premium since they share the lot with Kroger

It's been years.... Since I've dined here, but was nearby and stopped in for an early dinner. gyro and fries. Everything perfect. Service was good and surrounding were cozy. Looking forward to returning!

Great place.

Fresh and tasty, friendly service. I've been going to Kismet's for about 13 years. I used to enjoy hanging out here as a teen, and now it's a favorite spot for my husband and me. They've got fantastic burgers, downright addictive curly fries with Cajun seasoning, and tasty hummus with warm pita bread. The Greek salad with feta vinagrette is also a good (vegetarian) option. The half size is large enough for a meal.
Gyros and wraps are always a good bet. Service is prompt and friendly.

We especially eat a lot of take out from Kismets. The food is always freshly made and fast. They go the extra mile to make sure our order is right, I really appreciate that! Love the pineapple chicken wrap and their curly fries!

I'm a southern guy who loves his gyros and hummus but sometimes I need my poboy and French fried taters. What's a boy to do? Go to Kismet's of course! Either way your food will be made fresh (very quickly too) and served by some of the friendliest people you've ever met. Also the food is very inexpensive which is a definite plus. If you're from outside the Jackson area you should totally check this place out when your in town. Skip the chains and make the drive to Brandon.

Good place for a quick fun bite. Food is tasty but a bit on the greasy side, but that should be expected at a place of this type. Go here if your not counting calories and want a more American twist on traditional Greek food.

I had lunch at one heck of a Greek restaurant in Brandon this week called Kismets Restaurant & Catering. Kismets is located right next door to the Kroger on Crossgates Boulevard - as in, Kismet's Restaurant & Catering shares a parking lot with the grocery store! This was my first trip to Kismet's, but I was optimistic based on the raves from our raves from our Eat Jackson Twitter followers.
