I love Abners tenders fried and grilled they’re good. Don’t get to stop by as much since they moved to Brandon but same great experience. Don’t know when but they also updated dated the menu with tacos, wraps, and sandwiches. This time I tried the BBQ Taco. The 2 pack for 8.50 plus tax was filling but I could have eaten a third. They were awesome. Staff was nice also.

Love this place. The mens bathroom was dirty so I asked the lady up front to clean it. She scrubbed it good. It’s the best place to drop a deuce. Tang chicken greases your pipes. I suggest eating some chicken and just sit there a bit and it’ll all be groovy.

This is my second visit to Abner’s. Jason and his staff were nice and friendly. The food was delicious. The wings and fries were hot. I would definitely recommend this place. I will be back!!!

Do you like chicken strips? Here you can get a 1 strip, 2 strip, or 100 strip meal because management doesn't think anyone wants 3,4, or 5. Slow service and mediocre food. Better off going to Flowood.

Abner's new menu has some Tex-Mex items and they are quite tasty! Service was friendly and timely. Restaurant is clean

They recommended the spicy chicken wrap. I was not impressed. They put all the sauce in one spot so almost the entirety of the wrap was very dry.

Food is good. But it can be a little on the expensive side, which is where the 4 stars comes in. Also, the food is really greasy. But overall, the food isn't terrible and the workers have always been nice.

Chicken tacos and free tea Tuesday were awesome. Top it off with strawberry cheesecake and its a full meal

If you're going to be known for your chicken, and not do much else, although they DO have a few new pasta menu items, then you should be really outstanding. Someone else mentioned Cane's, and there's Zaxby's... all primarily do chicken. This is going to be a hard review, because Abner's is just not outstanding, by my standards. The Ranch chicken wrap was adequate, plenty of chicken, sauce was good... but that's it. It didn't make me excited at all, and thinking about it does make me want to return. Sorry guys. On the other hand the service was good, the restaurant was clean, and the ingredients tasted fresh. But anybody can do that...

Good Food and Good Value. Second EDIT

Well, after going here a TON for a very long time, I have had to stop going. Literally, every time I eat here I get a violently upset stomach. I don't know why - I have no known food sensitivities and the place seems clean. I have tried many, many different items on the menu too trying to single it out, but it is just everything. As soon as I get done with my meal, I can't even leave - I'm in their bathroom with upset stomach. Or, even worse, I am on my way to my next destination and can't even make it without a pit-stop at some random place, even though where I am going is probably within a 10-15 minute drive. It sucks, I do not want to stop coming. The people are friendly, the food tastes great, and the prices are great, but my body just feels like a train wreck after eating here.

I would still recommend it to others, as my husband has NEVER had a problem with it - I am probably just sensitive to something, but no idea what it could possibly be.

EDIT

Been going to Abner's a lot now - it has become a new favorite! I crave it all the time. Their grilled chicken strips are excellent and it makes me feel better about eating the enormous helping of fries they give you :)

_______________________

Recently started coming here and very pleased every time so far - especially with free tea Tuesdays! The chicken strips are flavorful and HUGE! My favorite part is the Abner's sauce though. I find myself craving it. Great value as you get a ton of food for a low price. The people are super friendly too and the restaurant is clean and quiet.

Thought the tenders were better 15 years ago in Oxford. Now that Abners has branched out, I don't think the quality followed. Now I just wonder who ripped off who: Abners or Canes??

Grilled is good; fries are good; chicken salad is good; coleslaw is great. I'd stop by again but I wouldn't get the pasta salad.

Chicken Tenders. Generous portion of chicken tenders. They reheat better than most chicken tenders.
Penn's has better ones if you eat them right away. I usually prefer Abner's though because they give you more for the money and I can have lunch left over for the next day. Penn's chicken doesn't reheat as well for some reason.
