We had never been to Vermont and picked this place by random. I wish I was playing the lottery because this was the billion dollar pick! I had the best brisket sandwich amd station style fries. Best sandwitch and fries of my life. My wife who has a gluten allergy got the gluten free BLT and station fries. She could not stop talking about how great it was. Then came the dessert that was also gluten free. The chocolate and peanut butter pie was so rich and delicious. We will always come back when we visit Vermont. Lastly the view will speak for itself! Right on the river! This is a must visit!
Everything. Great server (thanks Steve), excellent beer, and yummy food (fish tacos on point and very good chili, try it with the beer-cheese soup) . We will be back!!
First time in Vermont for me and I was lucky enough to be taken to a great lunch with super family time. The atmosphere was great. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the food and drinks. Could not have been better. Highly recommend!!
My partner and I had never been before but had past many times. The food was excellent we have a server named Willoughby he was amazing kept the food coming kept the drinks full. Great experience we will return.
Great food, great beer, great view, great staff... great place!
Great view, great wine, great food! We can’t wait to come back to sit on the patio!
Great food and beer. Service was friendly and quick. Glad we stopped in while passing through VT . We mix and matched a few things on the Selfie (apps) menu and enjoyed a beer. Four of us and we were in and out in less than an hour.
This so far is one of my favorite brewery’s in Vt. The beer and food are amazing! I haven’t had anything in this place that I didn’t like. I will be back every time I’m in the Brattleboro area!
Great place to eat. Very busy at 2 in the afternoon but rooftop has a bar and served food. Lovely.
Enjoyed dining on the outdoor patio. Beautiful views and the food was great.
Awesome place right on the water! We ordered the station style and buffalo wings and they were both super good. We love wings and both agreed that the buffalo sauce was one of the best we’ve ever had! We LOVED that we could just order and close out our tab from our phone. Everything came out fast, and each time a staff member came to our table they were extremely kind. Definitely recommend this place!
Location, ideal. Scenery, stunning! This quaint little beer company is tucked perfectly on the Vermont, New Hampshire border near the train station. The staff, friendly and welcoming to everyone that walked in regulars and visitors alike. Craft beers are great and a variety to choose from. The menu is as equally delightful. We ordered the chicken sandman with chips (served w stoner sauce) and station fries. Sierra was AWESOME despite missing an order, she and the kitchen staff recovered in a timely fashion and was apologetic. As a chef, the only downside was the manager walking around never stopped to make sure things were good after the missed order.
Stopped over at Whetstone Brewery on the way to Springfield Vermont. The place has seating on two floors, both with both covered and outdoor tables. The view from the rooftop is breathtaking! The panoramic view of the Connecticut River with the boaters sailing by 🚤 It couldn't get any more picturesque than that! The beers were second to none as well. We did not have food there but it looked scrumptious AF! 😋. Can not wait to visit again!
May 9, 2022: Traveling on the bridge over the Connecticut River from New Hampshire to Brattleboro, Vermont, the first restaurant you'll see is Whetstone. The scenery is beautiful and you have the option of indoor or outdoor seating. There are heat lamps outside. We chose to sit inside. The service setup is unusual. You get your own drinks, napkins, and utensils, and you order food from your phone. The food comes out to you very quickly. What I like about the set up is you don't have to wait for a server to come to you to order food or to replenish your drinks. You don't have to wait for a server to bring the check to you as you can pay for your tab at any time. The food was outstanding. My friend had the cheese stuffed pretzel which she said was delicious. I had seared tuna and spicy chicken wings, both of which were very tasty. We also got the cole slaw and fries, which were both good.
Whetstone has your typical bar food available. The quality of the food is pretty good and it arrives in decent time. The service we received was great. There's a good selection of beer, a large TV for when there's sports going on, and it's an overall nice place.
Had lunch on their roof top open air seating. The views were great and the food was delicious! Their home brewed beers were a delight and a wide variety of tastings. Highly recommend if you are in the area!
Visited June 14th, 2022. Weather was partly cloudy and 80°F.
Pros: The views, man. Top 5 view from a brewery. The upstairs biergarten was tight and had a roof. On the edge of it you are technically in New Hampshire which is dope.
Great parking options.
The Rest:
Above average beers but not earth shattering by Vermont standards.
The food was just Ok. I had chicken tenders. No one else was ranting about their meals.
Overall I'd give it 4 stars but that view bumps it up to a 5 star experience. Absolutely worth a visit. The co-op is a short walk away which is nice so you don't have to deal with driving through all those lights.
Great place. Amazing location.
I hadn’t had a chance to make it here while living in VT. But on a quick trip through I made it a point to stop for some beer and lunch.
I was not disappointed. The beer cheese ale soup made me crave more.
The beer was delicious. Nothing too funky standard beer and unique beers. We’re all delicious I left with several 4-packs Togo. The outdoor seating was great open and airy it was very inviting even on a overcast day.
The beer was worth the trip.
