Our experience at Yemen Cafe is exceptional, matched by their warm hospitality. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a warm house soup, oven-baked bread, and a delightful house hot tea infused with a sweet chai flavor readily available at the counter. The house soup had a delightful kick and was incredibly hearty. Our order included the Kibdah (lamb liver), Boba Ghanoush, and Lamb Haneeth. The Kibdah was stir-fried very well and had a rich liver flavor; the Boba Ghanoush was incredibly creamy and paired perfectly with the oven bread; the highlight was the Lamb Haneeth - the tender lamb pieces practically melted off the bone, seasoned to absolute perfection. Each bite was immensely satisfying. Overall, the incredible food and the warm hospitality made the dining experience very enjoyable.

The entire menu is available since they open at 10 am. I tried different dishes, and they were tasty and fresh. I highly recommend going there during non-peak hours, so that you will receive the service you deserve.

Incredible food and dining experience. Every staff was nice and patient and spent effort to confirm dietary restrictions. We loved everything we got and would love to go back. All three of the hot stone bowl dishes were amazing (foul>fish saltah>veggies saltah if I must rank) with the super thin and fresh bread that's better than pita in my view. That fatah with honey was super flavorful and refined sugar free! The lamb soup that was on the house was flavorful too. Definitely coming back to dine again!

Finally tried this place out as it came highly recommended by family. Staff was so kind and the free soup starter was fantastic. Food was incredible and the lamb was so tender it just fell apart so easily. We got one chicken and one lamb haneeth which comfortably fed 5 adults. 10/10 will absolutely visit again

Woah ! Very impressive Yemeni food !! I love lamb .regardless the way they cook. I had their signature lamb hanneth, the meat is perfect in flavor and very soft but still stick to the bone. I also enjoyed a lot the free Yemeni special tea, sweet but very fresh as well !

Excellent and authentic Yemeni food. The roasted lamb (5/5) was fall off the bone tender and packed a huge flavor punch with traditional spices. Everything else that came with the lamb was spectacular as well. Saltah lamb with Haneeth lamb (5/5) - the stew (5/5) is made from okra and tomatoes, and is very traditional in Arab cooking - super flavorful with a cumin kick. The lamb (5/5) was excellent - it was extremely tender, flavorful, and very traditional. It's hard to find authentic Arabic food but I'm really glad to say this is one of them. Bread (5/5) - Chewy, fluffy, and brought piping hot. Also, service was excellent and friendly. Highly recommend!

I have been in the US for a month and started craving food from my region. Yemen Cafe has been recommended by my friends and I am glad that I took their recommendations. It’s the very first Yemeni Restaurant in The United States, since in 1986 I have ordered their most popular dish: Lamb Haneeth: A 6 hour slow-roasted tender piece of seasoned lamb. Served with rice and topped with a vegetable sauce. I loved the lamb. Melts in your mouth. The rice was good enough, I had better but probably this will be the best option in the US. Recommended ✅

Simple spot that serves home style Yemeni food. The lamb Haneeth was great but the Hummus in the Chicken and Hummus was bland. The positive is that the food comes crazy fast, unlimited tea, unlimited bread. Great spot to go to if you are nearby.

Been coming here for years. The best Yemeni restaurant in NYC in my opinion. The food and service is always consistently awesome.
