My Polish great-grandmother sent my family sweet cheese Babka bread every year. She wouldn’t say where she sent it from and when she passed so did our time with the Babka bread. This year I decided to host for Easter and after lots of searching, I decided to buy Babka bread from Syrena Bakery. It is the closest thing I’ve found to the one from my childhood and I’m so grateful. Everyone working there is so kind and considerate. I’m ecstatic and feel excited to share the sweet treat with friends tomorrow! Thank you, Syrena!

I visit this amazing Polish bakery for all major holidays. I’m glad I live too far to be there more often because I’d be having cakes for breakfast!!! Just got this amazing rum cake (see photos) for Easter but it was so delicious, it didn’t make it to Easter. Lol. I strongly recommend their Polish donuts (pączki) and cheesecakes. They have a great variety of those to chose from. Best part is that their desserts aren’t overly sweet like the typical American desserts. Place is clean and staff friendly. No inside sitting area but there’s a bench outside where you can sit and enjoy your donut/coffee. Place gets very crowded during holidays so expect to wait in long lines, but, trust me, it’s worth it.

Syrena Bakery is one of the cheapest bakeries in Greenpoint, and with a variety of quality dishes, you get more than what you pay for. The girls there speak both Polish and English, and food comes fast, but sometimes orders can get mixed up. Food is delicious, and the bagels are very fluffy. Good selection of desserts.

This is an amazing European Bakery with a Polish influence. The Rye bread is very chewy and delicious. They have an olive roll that is amazing. The place is crowded at times. Really like this place. Parking on Street but easy to find.

LOVE the Plain & Cheese Babka! Used to buy all the time at a polish deli in NJ until we moved to FL 3 years ago. Any chance you could ship a case? I don't get to fly home often, and I can only fit so many in my carry on bag.

The Polish Dounut was superb. The plum jelly wasn't too sweet and the candied citrus rind was a nice garnish. There are lots of Eastern European breads and pasteries available here. The service was efficient and the employees were friendly and lovely.

THE FOOD IS AMAZING! The service takes a while because of all the customers. The place is very clean and looks very festive during holidays.

Awesome Polish bakery. Everything here is so cheap! Coffee is $1.25! Good sandwiches, amazing pastries. Slide through here to pick up your loaf for the week, or just walk by anywhere within a 3 block radius of this place and smell the freshly baked goodness. Great option for people who are gluten free.

Yummy food. The donuts melt in your mouth, not in your hand (lol). But seriously their donuts taste better than Krispy Kreme to me. And they sell loaves of bread. I bought their sponge cake. It was so good. Their fruit cake is good too. Everything is freshly prepared. I would want their cakes for my wedding. I think that I saw they have linzer tart cookies, which are also a fav of mine. They also have bagels. I wanted to buy everything, but I didn’t have the cash on me at the time. Lol. The manager is very kind and sweet as well.

The bagels are great, the paczki is good but not the best I’ve had and no raspberry flavor! The chocolate Boston creme like donuts are good though. If you like polish deserts and pastries you will love this place even if you don’t you will like it. They have unique and interesting looking cream cheese I didn’t try it but I want to in the future.

Such a pleasant surprise! I was on my bike and I started smelling something delicious and I saw this place and I had to stop :) I bought a gelatin cake? (Sorry I don’t know the names) some bread and another cake like cheesecake and is extremely good. The girl was so nice and I left with a smile.

A fine bakery specializing in Polish baked goods, but they have a wide variety of universal options. I always pick up a plain babka as it’s a staple in Polish comfort food.

By far the best bakery in Greenpoint. Not expensive. Great bread, the bapka is amazing. Everything is freshly made. Come here every time I'm in the neighborhood. Also, their sandwiches are delicious. I recommend the polish spiced ham with polish Swiss. 😍😍
