Birds of a Feather is an awesome Sichuan spot with a modern, well-designed interior that feels airy and spacious. Our dining experience was full of highlights. The Thousand-Year Egg and Tofu Rolls had a unique flavor profile with a delightful spicy kick, pairing egg tofu and century egg topped with chili pepper. The Dan Dan noodles were perfectly seasoned, offering a numbing kick without overwhelming the palate. The Soup Dumplings were comforting, while the string beans was flavorful with pickled vegetables sprinkled in. The Mapo Tofu was a real standout with its rich and complex flavor, delivering a perfect balance of spice and comfort. The food was overall highly satisfying, and the service was accommodating, especially regarding our vegetarian preferences, as they were happy to adjust several dishes by removing or serving the meat separately.

I visited here from my senior recommendation. She said Ma Po Tofu is the must to try and it is. The taste is dense and rich with high quality ingredient. The veggie one that I had is nice as well. Crispy texture yet healthy and yummy. Staff Service is good. He also recommended me to have small size portion so I could complete all the dishes properly.

Spectacular. One of the best Szechuan style food I’ve had. I loved everything our group of 8 order family style. I especially liked the Chinese broccoli, okra, and ma po tofu. I will definitely be returning. Price and service were great as well.

Super busy. So I got take out instead! Reasonably priced and good portions for 2. And it was super quick and very well packed! Although you need to go the other side, the "back" of the restaurant. We got the Dan Dan noodles, mapo tofu, pork belly with mustard greens and purple rice! Super fragrant with the szechuan peppercorns! Not overly spicy. Just about right. Really great meal for two! The red bean dessert was also delicious! Simple but absolutely delicious. Will definitely come back! You don't need to wait. Take out is just as good!

The food was rich of flavors and spices. Some even gave me a num mouth. I really enjoyed the food and reminded me of the flavors you would see in a Cantonese kitchen. For a sensitive stomach I would not recommend this place. Service was average and the ambiance is load and loved the playlist!

So happy to have tried this place. All the food was very flavorful fresh and well balanced. It may have become one of my favorite Szechuan restaurants.

Take out review! Fairly priced items with good Dan Dan noodles and crispy spicy chicken. Most of the dishes are fairly spicy by default so if you don’t do spicy go somewhere else or make sure you ask for little to no spice when ordering. Dim Sum was great as well especially for take out, the buns held their composure and stayed fluffy and chewy. The pork inside the buns is minced and put into a meatball, it’s not going to break when you pull the bun apart. Still delicious.

Busy but not overwhelming as far as feeling like your jammed in a restaurant. Menu had a nice variety of options! Scallion pancakes, chicken dumplings, kung Pao chicken and the frug Rose bottle. Decently priced for NYC as well. Everything was fresh and the dumplings were my favorite! Very enjoyable, would absolutely return! Nice server too, always around us making sure we were taken care of! 5/5

I'm Chinese, and wasn't sure what to expect for an "elevated" Chinese restaurant, but this blew me out of the water. Managing to give classic Chinese ingredients an elevated spin while still maintaining the integrity of the flavor and style is seriously so impressive. Everything from the century egg custard to the softshell crab does Sichuan style, no misses here. And the price was so affordable for how much food we got. Whenever I'm in Brooklyn again I'm definitely going to come back. It's a permanent spot on my recommendation list for others now.

I loved everything here. The menu was varied without being overwhelming. Everything I tried tasted great and fresh with distinct flavors, and I was happy I ordered it. I especially liked the fried pieces of fish. The staff was attentive and present. The eating area was spacious and there was enough empty space that it felt relaxing. The vibe was soft industrial with exposed brick. And after all that, it wasn't even all that expensive.

The crispy fish and mapo tofu were wonderful. Everything else was decent and unique, but nothing mind blowing. They were fully packed into the wee hours of 10PM with lines outside on a Saturday night. The atmosphere is of a local crowd that can get loud. It is difficult to have a conversation without yelling since the tables are very crammed. I kindly requested a four top of a table of 3 as we were expecting to order many dishes, but was given a two top instead… there was a four top open that the hostess claimed to be taken. We watched and the table was unoccupied for 40 minutes…while other tables opened up as well.

Very delicious food in a stylish space! It’s known for spicy dishes so if you’d like an adventure but not sure of your tolerance level, get their soy milk too

This is my top 5 of all restaurants in nyc, the quality is perfect every single time, the staff is quick and Friendly, the spice is just right and it’s a lovely interior! I prefer lunch as it’s less crowded and the same menu, but dinner is just as awesome just bigger portions. 10 stars I love birds if a feather

Best Chinese food in NYC. This food is as close to authentic as I’ve ever had and the spice level is actually 👌🏾. Service is great too. Get the twice cooked pork and the cumin lamb if you can.
