This is an amazing restaurant! We had our wedding reception here on Sunday. The food was amazing. The service was on point! All of our guests really enjoyed themselves. The staff went beyond the call of duty! Thank you so micha for making our day special!!!
I've always had fantastic service; everything I've eaten off the menu is delicious; and the atmosphere is welcoming and accommodating for everyone. I've gone on a Friday night to party with friends and on a Monday afternoon with my family. A downtown favorite for sure!
Amarachi should be seen beyond the facet of its exellent culinary, it's an iconic pride of diaspora rendezvous and a melting point where people mingle in absolute disregard of color, background, and other differences . Thinking of unwinding in executive splendor, go Amarachi.
Great food! The oxtails are delicious! Very reasonably priced menu and substantial portions ! Highly recommended
Came here for my birthday. My hubby and I were seated immediately. The atmosphere was cool and laid back. The DJ was really good. Our waiter Tyrece, who was also the manager, was great and told us the food was made to order (hence the wait). We had the fish tacos and chicken quesadillas which were amazing. Also tried the jerk wings and jollof rice which were nice and spicy. Tyrece graced me with a slice of cake complete with sparkler after my husband told him it was my birthday. We had a great time and are looking forward to going back.
Great nightspot. Awesome party atmosphere & a lot of energy and good vibes. Wings were SLAMMIN'!!! Cool place for a celebratory function. I recommend it highly.
Recently had a birthday party for about 15 folks here at Amarachi. The owner was easy to work with in getting the reservation and menu selected. We arrived and my party was seated instantly. Service was EXCELLENT, and by that I mean timely, attentive and error-free! The DJ was great and keep us all is a party mood the whole night. And the food, ohmygoodness, the FOOD was AMAZING! I'll attach a couple photos below, but you will NOT be disappointed by the variety, the preparation, nor the portion sizes. Five stars for a wonderful time! Thank you Amarachi :)
This place would've gotten 5 stars had our server been more attentive. Unfortunately she wasn't. I had to get the attention of the host 3 times😳 in order to have our waitress come over initially, then to get our drinks, then to get the check. The 4th and 5th times I asked another server to assist. Pretty sad.🙄
We waited for about 50 minutes to get our food which was horrible😡! Aside from that, both hosts were amazing and the food was delish😋. My only complaint regarding the food is it was a bit on the salty side. A little too heavy on the salt. Otherwise, everything was scrumptious.
There was a birthday 🎉 🥳 party happening so the music was booming. The selection was great and the dj was good. The waitress said everything took long because of the party. I say...regardless of a party, youre supposed to have enough manpower to server others in a timely fashion period!
Would I go back? Yes.
Despite the long wait, I like to give restaurants 2 to 3 trys before I write them off. So the answer is... I would Definitely go back!
I'd suggest, don't go on the weekend because you may not get in. Some people were being turned away because there was no more room. That's probably because of the party, but my guess is, wherever the food is amazing, the crowd is overflowing.
❤️
It was worth visiting this Nigerian restaurant. Their food seemed to be really amazing.
People were really welcoming and helpful with the orders. So a 10/10 for service.
We ordered jolaf rice with jerk chicken and tuna with jolaf rice. The rice was something I never tasted. They seasoned it so well and it aas a bit spicy but it was a good kind of spice. You don’t feel it instantly but after a while it hits you. The seasoning for jerk chicken was also kind of unique.
I tried the salmon from my friend but it kind of had a fishy flavor which didn’t go well with my taste bud.
Stopped here yesterday on a whim with my bestfriend yesterday. It was a great day outside and the have a great outdoor space. Our server Barbara was wayyyy beyond amazing, engaging and hilarious. I'll visit again just to see her. But honestly the fooodddd it took a lil bit to come out but it's because EVERYTHING is so fresh! I had the salmon with a parmesan cheese sauce, spinach, jollof and a pitcher of mango mimosa. My best friend had the red snapper, jollof and a side salad that she loved. Can't wait to visit at night! I recommend 10/10! P.S. you get a beautiful view of the Brooklyn Bridge!
Awesome dining experience. My wife's daughter moved here from Los Angeles to accept a marketing position. Her significant other is from Nigeria and this guve him a "touch of home" the food is very good and well prepared.

Tonight my husband and I had a date night and decided to visit Amarachi for the first time.
For an appetizer, we had fried calamari. Honestly the best we've ever had. Next time no sharing! I'll have my own. We then had the oxtail with mac and cheese and the Suya & Jollof rice with salmon. The food was delicious!
Our server was nice and I enjoyed the music and vibes. The cocktails could have been a bit stronger. Still tasty nonetheless.
My only critique would be as soon as someone steps inside to acknowledge their presence right away. It matters!
That all being said I will for sure return. The oxtail and calamari specifically made a lasting impression.
The food is amazing; spicy but so good! I had the Suya & Jollof w/ steak & a side of sweet plantains. My friend had the chicken Alfredo; both were spicy! The drinks were delicious & strong. We both drank the Yardi Punch. The place has a nice vibe with great music and hookah. The servers were so personable and attentive. Parking in the area was easy to find on a Saturday night.
A taste of Africa!!
The ambiance, friendliness, and service were great. The music and drinks were also great. We each got our own pitcher, it was worth it. I am Nigerian, therefore I am picky about eating other peoples jollof rice, egusi etc. But Amarachi's is a place to eat Nigerian food!!! The jollof rice was good. Not hard from the midbottom of the pot. You can taste they used fresh ingredients and oil. You can also switch up your sides. I really wanted to try the fish and it was good. I need sause with my jollof, not that it was dry, but try jollof with extra sauce...delicious. I will be back!!!
A gem of downtown Brooklyn Amarachi has a lot of flavor. The lobster and shrimp linguini pasta was so delicious. A DJ was on sight and playing some amazing tunes on a Saturday night. I was impressed by the intimate atmosphere. My drink was the rum punch and every sip was enjoyable. You will not be dissatisfied. I will be back. Oh and order the Wings.
Excellent food. Excellent service! The Jollof was AWESOME. Smokey and delicious. The fish bites were a delicious starter too. Will definitely come back. So pleased it’s my local!
This spot Right here! Calamari seasoned nice and crispy, jollof rice and salmon was so flavorful! Music you can groove to and drinks were a vibe! Loved spending my birthday here. The staff helped me celebrate with a round of shots! The host did awesome check ins on the table. I’m definitely coming back before the year ends!
This place was great. The food was amazing and the servers were so nice. I will definitely return!
It was my first visit to New York. It was highly recommended from a colleague of my lovely wife. You have to go eat at this place. The food was excellent and the service was too. Hurry up put your shoes on and run as fast you can to this place. Great prices and good drinks
The food is delicious. The staff is nice.
The customer service needs a little bit more tweaking. For the three times I had the pleasure of eating at Amarachi, I am often lifting my hand to signal the waitress for a water refill or side of sauce, etc.
Other than that, it is worth the visit. Cool ambiance, diverse crowd and great food.
I loved the food and the service and I look forward to going back again! I had the egusi and pounded yam with a glass of red wine.
Excellen food, even the non spicy has a slight oomph. Large portion sizes. MJ was our waitress. My first time having Nigerian food. I will go back post pandemic. Social distanced, temperature check, info for contact tracing and the offer of plastic utensils.
Amarachi is one of my favorite restaurants. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The food is delicious and they give generous servings. It is a great place to meet up with friends to eat or if you are planning a birthday party or other special event. Recently I had the Chilean Salmon with mash potatoes and spinach. The dish is usually served with rice. But they let me substitute the rice with what I wanted.😁
