Really cool atmosphere and amazing food!! This place reminds me of a cozy izakaya, and the food is so good in every aspect: it came very quickly, the presentation was beautiful, and it tasted great! We got the beef and unagi don and each came with a plethora of tiny sides. The sushi rolls we're of g
Food is okay. Servers are nice and very accommodating. It's a small place. Not so great for big groups or families with kids. No room for a stroller.
This place is absolutely fantastic. The quality of their fish, both raw and cooked, is top notch. I've ordered chirashi, beef bowls, regular salmon and eel rolls, and their soy marinated tuna. The raw fish always tasted fresh and their seasonings and sauces were always delicious. Service was great,
Eating the fish here, you can tell that it is fresh. The salmon prsctical melts in your mouth. The portions that the restaurant gives for the price is fair. With the lunch special, the deal is even more worth it with the miso. The restaurant itself is somewhat of a hole in the wall. The place is fa
Fantastic attentive and friendly staff. Sat at the bar and ordered the 5 type sashimi chef choice, miso soup and a carafe of sake. The sake was recommended by the sushi chef and it was spot on to my preferences. The fish was fresh, cut perfectly per the type and never too thick.
An izakaya like no other in the city. The prices are more than affordable for both their sushi and larger meals. It's small and cozy and even has a bar area for those that like to order directly from the chef
Came here for lunch and their chicken katsu and mackeral lunch set. Prices are very good for the neighborhood and the food was very good. The mackeral lunch set reminded me of the style Ootoya has in the city, albeit smaller portion but definitely still was filling. Need to go back and try the sushi
solid sushi lunch special for $10, and the grilled mackerel teishoku was great for dining in for lunch. The scallop sushi was also quite good. The EDM blasting from the speakers kind of ruined the otherwise quintessentially Japanese aesthetic (felt more Japanese than most places I've been in NYC). T
Why didn't anyone tell me about Jun Shokudo and their AMAZING lunch sets?! Who knew about this place and didn't tell me? Great quiet atmosphere. Even better Japanese food. Reasonably priced. Goodbye forever sad overpriced soup and salad spot. I'm leaving you for Jun Shokudo. I think we both know w
This is absolutely a hidden gem in downtown Brooklyn. The place is simply elegant and cozy. The servers are very friendly and helpful in explaining the menu items. Not only do they serve excellent sushi and rolls, they also have plenty of traditional cook Japanese dishes that are not your everyday
Great ramen. The lunch special comes with any ramen or your choice, do premium sides (I chose egg and mushroom), and a side salad for $14. The ramen was sufficiently spicy and had a generous amount of pork. The broth with a nice mixture of pork and chicken broth, they didn’t skimp on the brother ei
Interesting and subtly beautiful flavors. Started off with the crispy Yuzu shrimp which went well with the Echigo beer. Then, we had the Tuna Yamakake roll, chicken kuwayaki, and a serving of their catch of the day: California Uni. Finished off with the Yuzu granite sprinkled with shiso leaf. Can't
Great sushi that's fresh. An excellent sushi bar doesn't smell like fish. This place was great. Limited selection, however the dishes were delicious.
Intimate space with very friendly staff. The sushi was amazing. Chicken wings were a tad on the sweet side. Would eat there again.
I was pleasantly surprised by my meal. Sushi and sashimi were fresh, and not overly 'cold'. Service was quick and great. Will return.
Standard fare sushi, very maki oriented and very little Nigiri. That said, it was great maki. The sashimi lover should avoid!
Pretty solid spot for all of the basics. Everything is tasty and fresh. Awesome waitress on the weekends that has come to learn our order. Glad to have it in the neighborhood.
