Good portions , good prices, tasty, unfortunately no beer. Proper glasses and dishes ( no disposables) were a delight.

Unpretentious local restaurant with good food and service. Very clean and airy, obviously owned by people who take a great pride in what they do and how they treat their customers. All dishes we tried were well prepared, tasty and made with fresh ingredients. Certainly has the authentic touch, especially dishes like popusas. A great alternative to overpriced hipster joints a couple of blocks down in Industry City.

I really enjoy eating at Gran Villa the food is great it reminds me of El Salvador when I was growing up,this place makes delicious pupusas, soups are excellent especially the beef and vegetables soup. My family like to go there for the variety of food. You also get the best customer service, staff is excellent.

Pupusas 5/5
Tamales de pollo with the green sauce 5/5
Tamales de elote 1/5
Customer service= 3/5. Customer service depends on the mood they’re in. Based on my interactions with them, some days is 5/5. Other days 3/5 other days 2/5.
They have the salvi drink cola champagne.
Be open minded that when ordering to pick-up or for delivery some part of your order will be wrong and well, getting it fix or corrected gets complicated.
Overall a good spot to bring the entire fam, enjoy good food without the presence of alcohol.
Next time I eat at this place, I’ll try the other dishes and update.

The food and service is 10/10. Everyone was so welcoming and the decor was very cozy with Salvadorean touches everywhere like the beautiful towel paintings hung up on the exposed brick wall! I had the salmon with rice and vegetables as well as the vegetable soup. The salmon was so tender and fresh. The soup was to die for, the broth was delectable and the vegetables inside were soft and full of flavor. Make sure to try the pupusas as well! The chicken and cheese is my favorite.

EL SALVADOR 🇸🇻
Eat the World NYC review:
Sometimes a human being just needs a quick pupusa fix. Luckily the place closest to me is very good at making them, and quite a bit of other Salvadoran dishes. A recent return visit also found the hearty soups to be worth exploring, full of chayote and warmth perfect any time of year.

The restaurant also has a full line of American breakfasts and sandwiches, which brings in a lot of the surrounding blue collar workers that are not yet ready to make the switch to tasty Salvadoran breakfasts and pupusas like many of the families sitting at the tables.

Oh, and a quick P.S.A.: Don't eat pupusas with a fork and knife you animal!
