I have been knowing the Hurst family for 40 yrs... Richard played basketball for me at Fatima HS...this restaurant has been a model of consistency over a long period of time...the recipes have been in the family since inception, making Riverside Po-Boy Inn, the most authentic Cajun and Creole cuisine in Lafayette.

Me and my husband went in for lunch today at Poor Boys and the food and the service was amazing. Today was our first time eating here and we will defiantly be returning very soon and more often . I would rate this place more than a 5 star .

Love Riverside Inn! Their lump crab saute is the absolute bomb and they serve a mean seafood gumbo as well. It's all good!

The people who run Little River Inn are SO kind and accommodating. I got engaged there and it was magical. The food is almost as amazing as the people. Thank you again!

I absolutely love the atmosphere of this place. Last known restaurant to NOT be stingy with crab meat. Just like grandma made it, but with better ingredients!

My family and I eat at Riverside Inn very often and the food and service is excellent! Hunter is our Handsome and Polite Waiter. Mary Jane is our long time friend and Kim is an Awesome, Friendly Hostess and Richard Hurst is so nice and wants his customers to be happy and satisfied with the food! Paul Harrison is a very qualified Chef along with many others. We love the food and it's always delicious and prepared the way we ask for it. Thank You Riverside for feeding us so well!

Lovely restaurant tucked away right off of highway 90. Beautiful well kept grounds , the the service was great ! Extensive menu with lots to choose from, mainly seafood, but there were other options as well. I got the gumbo, it came out hot, taste was okay. It fills up pretty quickly I suggest getting a reservation or be prepared to wait awhile for a table. Great date night spot

We’ve had this place on our radar for some time, so when I asked my wife where she wanted to go for her pre-Mother’s Day dinner, she chose Poor Boy’s Riverside Inn. And our first visit didn’t disappoint. Now you know why I married her lol! Even our daughter got to join us for this fabulous meal. When we first walked in, it gave us the impression of the camps we grew up with on the rivers/swamps of South Louisiana. It felt like we were visiting cousins. We had reservations for 7pm and were seated right away. We highly recommend making reservations, especially on the weekends. Our server Destinee, promptly took our drink and appetizer order. There was so much to choose from, but we settled on the grilled Alligator Tidbits. They were seasoned to perfection and so tender. With every bite we tried to guess what flavors were coming out. We throughly enjoyed this dish! For our entree’s my wife had the Crab Dinner. If you’re a crab lover, as she is, you can’t go wrong with this dish. There were so many crab variations with this dish. My wife absolutely loved it. Our daughter ordered the Grilled Redfish, her favorite seafood dish. She commented on how well seasoned it was. She gave it her two thumbs up rating. Going in I knew I wanted flounder, but was blown away by all the different choices on the menu. I went with the Flounder Extravaganza. There were 2 filets of flounder stuffed with crab meat stuffing then topped with crawfish, lump crab meat and mushrooms sautéed in a sweet cream butter sauce. Wow - what a melting pot of flavors! Even the grilled mix vegetables were seasoned and cooked to perfection. We truly enjoyed our visit to the Riverside Inn. I guess I know where we going for Father’s Day LOL!

As always, superior food and service in very relaxing surroundings. I actually watched a racoon come out of the wooded copse, stroll up the front walk, peruse the specials and then saunter back off from whence he came🥰 Hard to belive this is so close to main thoroughfares and businesses. I heartily recommend frequent visits!😊

We decided to have dinner at Poor Boy's Riverside Inn at the last minute, and are so glad we did! We were in the area celebrating our anniversary, and someone suggested Poor Boy's. Everything about it was great -- the location, staff, and of course the food! Leah was a great server, and her recommendation of the Redfish Extravaganza was spot on! If we get back to this area, Poor Boy's will definitely be on our short list of places to eat!

Institution in Lafayette started 3 generations ago on the banks of the Vermillion River. They do a wonderful job with Crab and the sautéed lump crab here is legendary. They also have a great stuffed flounder. I always order the crabmeat Boulettes and my brother and mother loved the fried catfish. Good house Italian salad dressing.

This is my FAVORITE SPOT to dine when I want some EXCEPTIONAL Cajun and Creole cuisine! The Cpt. style chairs and the windows that surrounds much of the dining area adds to the restaurant's allure.

Have been a highly satisfied patron since I was a kid when it was at the old location on the river in town. Great old family recipes! Delicious food, caring owners, helpful staff many of whom have worked there for decades. Try their amazing sweet potato Beignets and bread pudding with extra sauce!! Wow!!
