Mel's brings a great nostalgic look of the 60's diner era. This was my first time there, but my escort spoke highly of it from the many times he eaten there in the past. We must have caught them at a bad time. They were very busy. The service was slow and inaccurate, and the staff were not very friendly other than being greeted at the door upon entering and exiting. However, the local patrons were cordial.

Food was very good! Service is very good also. Fyi I'm on a walker and this place was roomy and easy to get in and seated.

I got the eggs Benedict. It wasn’t my favorite breakfast item here but I had to try. It was their special of the day. I got a togo order for a friend and he loved Al of it. I love this diner. Classic American diner and the food and service is always great!

Food was delicious! Coffee was good, not so strong, just right!!! Wendy was our server, she's friendly and nice! The entire staff seems they have good work relationships, they were laughing and enjoying their jobs and each other and i love a relaxed work atmosphere like they have, customers are more relaxed when employees are having fun! Keep it up ya'll!

Traveling along Hwy 90 for an early meeting in Broussard. I wanted a breakfast that felt like a breakfast, not a paper cup and a muffin. Mel’s showed up on my Google Maps, was right along the road and had what looked from online pics like a good vibe. It was quiet at 06:30 but lit up and welcoming. Kristy seated me and the charm of the place came through. She said that Mel’s is a place for regulars and even though I’ve never been here before, she treated me as a regular. Indeed, pairs of gentlemen came in as if they were coming downstairs for their first cup. Exactly the vibe I wanted today. My eggs and meat served as I like them along with a side of grits. Sadly, Mel’s is four hours away from home but I’ll be back this way again and will make sure Mel’s is one of my stops.

Good late night dining. Very friendly and attentive staff. Loved the retro theme that they have too. I got the crawfish fettuccine which comes with bread and a house salad. There were a bunch of gnats flying around while we were dining but I won't fault them for that. Overall was a good experience. Hard pressed to find a better place still serving at 2:30 am

Cool place, with a retro vibe. We stopped in for dessert. My kiddo got a Brownie Sundae, which was huge. I got the Blueberry Cobbler al a mode, which was excellent.

Who doesn't love Mel's Diner, right? However, they have a practice that really annoys the heck out of me that I have to bring up. Table of four, three waters and I'm the soda. The waters come to the table with half ice. My soda comes to the table, at the same time as the waters, with ice overflowing from the glass. This is clearly a directive from the management. So, the drink that is being paid for comes with less to drink than the free drinks. How is that fair to the person paying for a drink? You're not making enough profit off of soft drinks? Now, you've also created an inefficiency because your server most likely has to service my table more often than necessary because I am emptying my drink faster than normal because you've made a policy of bottom-to-top ice in a soft drink. Also, I order a soft drink to enjoy with my meal. However, with so much ice, I'm less likely to do so because of how little soda you have provided me. What upsets me most is you've made this a policy choice as opposed to how the server randomly prepares the drinks. It makes me wonder what other cheapskate methods Mel's uses to cheat its customers. Otherwise, I have no other problems with Mel's, but the overwhelming amount of ice to squeeze a profit on what's already a highly profitable menu item makes me wonder what else you're being cheap with to the detriment of your customers.

Everything delicious looking, I didn't eat but had coffee but 10 of my friends food looked good enough to make me go back and they enjoyed. Place little bit to crowded for my liking that's why I rated a 4 on atmosphere

Mel's is one of the go-to's for some amazing breakfast in my opinion! It's really a good option after a night at the bar with friends to get something in your belly also lol. Lisa was our server and she went above and beyond with everything. Make sure you go when she's there at night and make sure Omar is back there cooking also because those pancakes he cooked were like slicing through butter! There is alot of menu options at Mel's but those pancakes will always be my top pick!

Very cool place! Some of the food we had was very good, some was pretty average. The menu is very big so everything can't be great. It's a 3.5 not quite a 4 but better than a 3.

The old school diner feel and the 50's music created a great atmosphere and the service was incredible! The food was also very good and everything was cooked to perfection! Diners like this are hard to come by and this place is a must if you're in the area! I will stop here again the next time I come through!

I did a pickup order via DoorDash. There were a couple tiny hiccups due to some learning curves, and I must say that the staff and management were accommodating, friendly, and apologetic through and through. Everything was resolved very timely and I was please with the experience.
