This is one awesome restaurant! We were fortunate during the last night of our vacation in Buffalo to be taken by friends to Hutch's. From the minute we walked in and were welcomed to the last bite of a delicious meal everything was perfect. The waitstaff was attentive, the menu expansive with so many great choices plus the nightly specials we had a difficult time choosing. Their escargot were as good as any I have had in the finest of French restauarants and I've had a lot. For my entree although a very unusual choice and something you rarely see on a menu I chose the Calves Liver which was prepared with crisp bacon and sautéed onion in a wonderful brown sauce and was excellent. My wife had a steak that you could cut with a fork, and our friends each had a different seafood dish that were equally good. The presentation of the food was artistic and done with a careful eye. We managed to have a creme brûlée for dessert and a wonderful berry crisp served in a pastry shell that was worth ordering two of them, but we were too full! There is no doubt that if I get back to Buffalo which I hope I do and I only have one night to dine while in town, Hutch's will be my number 1 choice. Make sure you make a reservation, you won't be sorry!
I don’t often make a point of saying things like this, but we eat at a lot of wonderful restaurants in Buffalo, but hands down, Hutches is the best! The food is done to perfection (thank you Danny Moore) the service is spectacular (we love Anthony), you get a full meal, not an al a cart menu, and everything is very well priced. I will come here (and do �) time and time again.

This is by far the best restaurant for red meat. Their tenderloin is the best meal ever. The 5 sipper is the best way to begin your Saturday date night. I'll keep coming back as long as they hold their high standards!

My husband Matt and I enjoyed a wonderful evening at Hutch's. We arrived early and the host offered to take my coat and walk us to the bar where we enjoyed some drinks before our table was ready. We waited about an hour before our table was ready and they apologized for the delay. When we were finally seated the hostess again apologized for the delay and processed to seat us at a quaint corner table out of the way of traffic. That was truly worth the wait. Our waiter was very attentive to our needs the moment we sat down. My husband had the strip steak I had the filet both were prepared to our liking with great flavor. We will tell our friends and definitely be back.
The wait for our food was longer than expected but so worth it! So amazing I didn't have to use ketchup!

It was my first time dining here and it was because I assumed it would be way too expensive. My son who also happens to be a chef there has repeatedly asked me come there for dinner. I was so happy that I finally did! The food was beyond phenomenal as was the service and very reasonabby priced. I look forward to many more meals there!

This is a classic establishment which is much bigger than it looks. We had a table of six and were well catered to. They offer a nice wine list and everything we ordered was flavorful and attractive. Try the seafood risotto!
Hutch's has been, and continues to be, in our top 3 restaurants in Buffalo. It's consistently great and always makes it into my recommendation for people visiting Buffalo.
First, it's important to say, Hutch's is legendary in this city. The location is a bit strange, but is an easy enough walk from the Elmwood Village. The decor is a bit dated, yes. But that doesn't change a couple things - you're always going to have a great time in the bar, and when you're seated, you're going to have a fantastic meal. The service is warm and attentive (but not intrusive). The vibe is lively (but not loud). And the food is constantly great. Personal favourites are the Stuffed Poblano Pepper and Steak Frites. You won't be disappointed.
Excellent Upscale Dining. Hutch's is an overall excellent place, wonderful bar area with tons of character and a very good fine dining restaurant. The food when I went was excellent, every course was what I hoped it would be. The service at both the table and the bar was excellent and matched the level of a true fine dining establishment. The bar area alone is worth stopping in to check it out, they have an excellent selection of spirits and a very unique and charming atmosphere. The bartender was very good and knew how to make good cocktails, as well as make recommendations. The price for most of the dishes is high, but you're getting what you pay for. The quality and preparation of the food justify the menu prices in my opinion, and the service makes you feel like you're getting your money worth when tipping 20% on your bill, not just handing out money because that's the thing to do when you go out to eat.
My only negative comments about Hutch's is the decor in the dining room, which is dated, and not in a good way. A renovation to the dining room would add a great deal to the ambiance.
The other thing is while one of the bartenders was exceptional, the other was very aloof and cold to us. It wasn't busy and he was just coming on his shift, chatting with what seemed to be regulars. With this kind of place I'm sure the staff makes over half their income from a small group of individuals, especially the bar. I get that. BUT, when guests are sitting at the bar and are in need of assistance, treating them like they're inconveniencing you, or aren't as important as the regulars, gives a very very poor impression of the establishment. If it wasn't for the rest of the staff that bartender's behavior could have been enough to turn us off and never go back, and tell everyone that we knew the bad experience we had. My advice is to ensure your staff are treating every customer with appropriate attention. That is the difference between an exceptional restaurant/bar and just a good one.

One of my favorites.... I visited hutchs a few weeks back and had a seafood special and it was great. The service was great we had a nice young man for our waiter he was pleasant. It's about a half hour drive for us but it is worth every minute! Love this place.
What a wonderful dining experience! It came highly recommended by several "locals" in the area. My husband and I are from the food service industry and we wanted fine dining. Hutch's exceeded our expectations! The escargot and oysters to start were amazing! We both ordered the beet salad which was very tasty. Our main course was the halibut, as well as the yellowfin tuna. Everything was fresh and seasoned PERFECTLY! Our server, Lisa, was extremely nice, very knowledgable and gave great recommendations! If we are in the Buffalo area again it will be a "must visit" for sure.

Love it. My husband and I went to hutch's right around the beginning of December and we loved the food. We have been trying to make it to hutchs for over a year and it was worth the wait. The service was great, we had a young lady as a waitress and she very nice. We both had steaks and they were cooked just the way we like them. We will definitely be going back to hutchs

Delicious Start To Finish. One of my favorite restaurants in Buffalo if not my favorite. You always get a quality meal, drink and the service tends to every need. Even the bread and dipping oil they give you is delicious. The bar and restaurant are always packed no matter what time you go in. Everything is worth the price and they are not over the top. If you like seafood they have the best tuna in town along with the beat salad. At least one person gets it every time when we go. Thai high calamari and eggplant napoleon are great appetizers to split amongst the table. The chicken milanase is a filling meal in itself since it is served with an arugula salad on top of the perfectly breaded chicken. Jumbalaya is very spicy but very good. Bistro steak and veal chop are great meat dishes and cooked to perfection every time. Hutch even comes out some nights from the kitchen to ask about your meals. You will not be disappointed here.
Believe the hype. It is that good. We have been meaning to go there for years, and finally dined there last Friday (get a reservation if you plan on going). Sure, it was a little more "cozy" than most Buffalo restaurants, not too bad; but the food (we both had steak) and the service were some of the best we've had in Buffalo. Even the green beans were great. Ceviche appetizer was out of this world. Can't imagine how anybody could have a bad review unless they were there on a really off night.

I adore Hutch's, and don't think my review will shut the doors, BUT! Please servers, stop ''tbowing'' the specials to me, stop smelling like smoke, and a restaurant this good deserves professional, mature staff, trust me, otherwise, you are one of my fav's.
Mmmm. They used to make THE MOST INCREDIBLE chevre cheese cake... its LOUD and the tables are ridiculously close to strangers but the food is out of this world

A good steak for the money. I've eaten at Hutch's about 10 times, and each time I went I ordered the Steak Frite, it is an 18oz Angus Ribeye that is served with hand cut fries. It's a great steak, and is always cooked perfect. The steak is great quality and has the thickness of a good ribeye. A much better deal than that steakhouse on Franklin St. and better quality steak as well. There is no way that I could eat this with a salad or anything else. I like the fact that I can go there at 10pm and get a nice late dinner.
Best Meal EVER. My girlfriends took me to Hutch's for my birthday- there were 9 of us. All I can say is we had the best meal any of us had ever tasted. Our server was great, a nice Italian guy whose name I cannot remember. But he was kind, prompt, knowledgeable, and so friendly. The food was absoluely delicious! I cannot say enough about how good everything tasted. It was expensive- $450 for 9 people, so about $50 a person, plus tip. But the quality of the food was so well worth it. Best dish overall: the lobster bisque! Also amazing were the eggplant appetizer and the ribeye steak. Such a great dining experience!
Service was excellent. Prices were moderate. Food was not the best ever, but decent. First time here so I'll definitely give it another try. Thumbs up on getting good service in one of the last 3 places I've eaten. Sometimes that makes the meal.
Simply the BEST dining in Buffalo, NY!. My wife and I been frequenting Hutch's Restaurant in Buffalo, NY for quite some time now. From our very first glass of wine there, it became clear that this was definitely going to be "our place." The food is simply amazing and the servers are some of the best in the city. Heaven on a plate. I ate at Hutch's the first week it opened. My best friend was visiting from LA (a Buffalo ex-pat) and somehow he had heard of it from across the country before I had from only 15 miles away.
I can remember that meal like it was yesterday, and Hutch's quickly became one of my most frequented places: I eat there probably once a week. In all those years - and countless meals - I have never had a bad meal.
The stuffed poblano pepper is incredible, and in the summer the beet salad is a must. I usually alternate between either the jambalaya pasta in winter and the grilled lobster tail in the summer. Hutch's grilled lobster is the best I've had anywhere.
Desserts are always great, if you have room that is, which I rarely do. The almond lace fruit cup is very light, and the goat cheese cheesecake (when they have it) is fabulous.
Plus, the bar makes the best mojitos in town. Makes me want to go right now!
The atmosphere is pure bistro - eveything from dockers to tuxes are right at home.
This place is fantastic. The outside is not much, but inside the chef is rock n the food! Lamb, steak and chicken were super with sauces that took them over the top. Service was tops and I will be back. Missing this gem of Buffalo would be a mistake.

Very Yummy!. I used to live a block away and so I've eaten here quite a few times- every one of those times it has been delicious! This restaurant is one of the best ways to lure suburbanite friends and family into the city! The atmosphere is great, the food is delicious, and I enjoy the crowd here on a weekend night much more than those at the noisy restaurants along the strip. I'm a vegetarian and the servers have always been more than helpful with locating some scrumptious, meatless entree for me.

Another fabulous meal!. We dined @ Hutch's last evening and had yet another fabulous meal! Hutch and his staff have NEVER let us down. Last evening's selection started with a stuffed Poblano pepper, which happens to be our favorite appetizer @ this establishment. Arugula salad was fresh and flavorful! Lamb chops were to die for!!!!! Of course the meal was not complete without their signature dessert.....'cookie cup' !! Yummy!!!!!!!! Friendly staff! Great atmosphere! We will definitely be back soon!
