Speechless. Hands down best breakfast I’ve ever had. We sat at the bar and the owners were so kind and you get an awesome view of the kitchen. Super cool atmosphere and definitely our go to breakfast spot from now on😍🍳🥓🥞
While visiting Buffalo, we googled best breakfast in Buffalo....Sophias was at the top of the list. After signing in, we were told of the hour wait......I am so glad we decided to stay

The restaurant was really great. We had one small plate and one large plate. The toast was especially great! Would recommend highly.
I had an appointment in Buffalo today, and so while I was in the area I was heading to a great restaurant that I've eaten at before called Nick's Place. Driving down Military Rd. I passed another restaurant that I'd been wanting to go to ever since I saw it featured on Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives... Sophia's. A quick u-turn and OH MY I was in food heaven. Whenever there is Souvlaki on the menu that's what I get, and until today Nick's was the best I've had. Don't ask me to pick the winner, I really can't, but that's OK because Sophia and Nick are brother and sister. Both are the best I ever had. I just wish I lived closer... Souvlaki twice a week? Absolutely!
BTW, the home-made bread at Sophia's was outstanding. {I must confess, that I never had bread at Nicks, but I'm betting it's probably a family recipe}

The food is delicious! A nice place to go grab a casual brunch and a cocktail. Peak times there will be a wait, but it is well worth it. The servers do a great job.
The food is awesome! Love this place❤️❤️👍🏻 My husband had the eggs Benedict which is one of the best he has ever had and I had the beef sovlacki breakfast it was excellent, beef was extremely tender and delicious. We will be back for sure!
Food is always homestyle delicious. One of Buffalo's best hot spots for breakfast food. Their Bloody Mary's are out of this world spectacular!

Been coming here for over 15 years and every so often get hooked on a new favorite. Right now it's the Breakfast Burrito. It's one of the best things I ever ate! Be sure to have it grilled. That crispiness just adds to the flavor.
I absolutely recommend adding breakfast at Sophias to your schedule when you are in the Buffalo area. Don’t forget to try the Bloody Mary, i gaurentee you will not be disappointed.
Great spot!!!! Always quality food and great service!! Usually packed... and in my opinion that's a good sign. The bar is great.. everyone waiting was able to grab a bloody Mary or cup of coffee while waiting for a table �
The best place in Buffalo to get cheap food. Always busy, parking can be rough, but that's nothing if not a sign that the food is great and people want to eat there. Friendly staff, including Sophia herself who is usually there to pour you a new cup o joe.

Can I give this place a 10 star rating? I love their food!!! Great breakfast place and if you're looking for a wicked bloody mary, this is the place to go. It can get super busy here tho so just be aware of the time you're going
You won't get a better breakfast anywhere in Buffalo. Someday (when you are really hungry - lots of food!) try one of their skillet breakfasts. You will be amazed at how good they are. The staff is super friendly and service is good, considering how busy they always are. We are going there for lunch today. I have only eaten their breakfasts so far but I know lunch will be just as tasty.
The best breakfast in buffalo. Finally made it to Sophias. We had to wait 10-15 minutes for a table not bad and so worth the wait. I had the Greek II omelet...fabulous! Perfect amount of olives, spinach and the best feta cheese. The homefries were done just right and thier homemade bread was great! My friend had perfectly poached eggs and sausage....very good. The mimosa and the bloodymary were quite tasty indeed. Our only dislike was the coffee simply terrible. Our bill was a very reasonable $30! :) We most certainly will next give lunch there a try. Do treat yourself and go to Sophias you will love it.
Best place in town. Had the best experience my first visit 1 month ago.. enjoyed the greek chicken salad. Then have gone back 4 times in last month. Breakfast was amazing... Staff so nice and very comfortable and relaxing. Love this place...

Simply the best!. My god, this stuff is da bomb! What a gem it is to have a place like this in the neighborhood. I am so jealous of you locals. Came in with my girlfriend and boy are we glad we decided to skip breakfast at Starbucks and cross the border early in the morning. The place was busy. We got the best seats in the house--right up at the bar, front row tickets to the Madhouse Breakfast Show in Buffalo! While waiting for our order, we got to see the heart of Sophia's in action. Man, what a well-oiled machine the kitchen is! Sophie! Sam! Lisa! Maria! It was amazing watching everyone in action as the kitchen picked off orders and the wait staff cleared them out in true assembly line fashion. Seeing the skillet brought to the guy sitting next to us made me drool. My chicken skillet with mozzarella arrived and I was in heaven. It was so good, I forgot about my girlfriend. It's ok though, because she was concentrating on her perfect crispy bacon and fluffy pancakes. The place was packed when we got there and it never stopped the whole time we were there. It was packed when we left. With food like that and friendly staff, I'd come back even if it wasn't so damn entertaining watching all the eggs cook on the grill.

This was my first time here on a whim. Best decision of the day! Sammys omelette was amazing and so was my girlfriends chicken souvlaki breakfast. Friendly atmosphere and staff. Definitely coming back soon!
Love love love this place! A very homey atmosphere, awesome friendly staff, and the food is GREAT! The price is right on and you get huge portions!! And everyone has to try the homemade bread... SO GOOD!!
Finally a good chicken souvlaki in Buffalo. I grew up a few blocks from Kostas who, back in the late 80s, undeniably had the best souvlaki in buffalo. I'd given up on greek in buffalo until last week's visit to Sophia's. My friend got the gyro breakfast with a side of pancakes and I got the open chicken souvlaki.
Everything was good but the pancakes amazing and my souvlaki was so good my friend got one to go to have for dinner. We will be back.
All-round great breakfast. It's all you could ask for in a breakfast diner. It may look small and old but it is very clean. The wait staff were friendly, fast and knowledgeable. We were served quickly and the food was great. I had the breakfast skillet and the portions were large- I could barely finish it. A great experience.
Yum Yum!!!. My husband and I enjoyed one of the best Chicken Souvlaki dishes we've had in years. Little did we know that Guy Fieri had been at Sophia's until we seen lots of pictures and things on the wall signed by Guy himself. We were delighted to meet Sophia and told her how we read about her place on urbanspoon. Unfortunately, she didn't even know what urbanspoon was and got a little worried at first. As a matter of fact she told us she doesn't even own a computer. I told her I was going to write a great review and she asked that I pass along a BIG THANK YOU to everyone that has supported her. She said what took her 10 years to accomplish, Guy did in 1 day! I would highly recommend Sophia's for delicious, authenic Greek food! We can't wait to go back again. She's only open 7 am to 3 pm daily.
So good!. We drove for 4 hours from Canada to try this place out (and to shop!), and it did not disappoint. I had the breakfast platter (giambotta) and my husband had huge pancakes, bacon, eggs, and we had drinks, with the whole meal being under $30 for so much food we were literally waddling down the street afterwards.
There was a fair wait for a table (20 minutes or so), but this was at about 1pm. Also, parking was a pain but nothing we couldn't deal with, just found a spot down Ritt.
Sophia herself took our order, and she was friendly and warm, a really lovely woman. I'm sending other family members their way on a recommendation, and when we're in the area again we will definitely go back!

Service with a smile is what makes a difference!. Visited this local place based on Triple-D. We had to wait for a table, but it wasn't too long. Servers were friendly and there really did seem to be a warm, local vibe to Sophia's.
(Sophia herself, I think, was extra attentive to our table - maybe because she thought we were food bloggers. ;) I saw her go from table-to-table, taking orders herself. Seems like a nice, down-to-earth woman.)
Breakfast was cheaper before 11am. Order a standard brekkie with 2 eggs, homefries (slices), & a meat for under $5 + a coffee. Friends ordered pancakes which looked fluffy and were HUGE.
Sophia offered her homemade bread which was good. I'd say that everything was your standard breakfast with the exception of friendly service, local vibe, & homemade ingredients as opposed to turn 'n burn chains and mixes.
I wished that I had tried their Greek food, so that I would get a better idea of their cooking skills. After all, how can you possibly screw up breakfast??
The small parking lot does get full, so just park on the residential street. Based on my 1 experience and reading other reviews, expect a wait - especially for breakfast!
Good food great service.... Very nice interior definitely not what you would expect. But BEWaRe no visa / master card service ..... Be sure to bring cash. Also parking was a sore spot but not a turn away.
I'm always on the hunt for a good breakfast joint. Good breakfast spots don't have to only serve one type of food or cuisine for me. They only need to serve high quality, tasty food that makes me want to return time and time again...and a good value doesn't hurt either. Many friends had suggested that we check out Sophia's Restaurant in Buffalo as it met the aforementioned criteria. We checked out Sophia's over the weekend and had a well-priced, tasty breakfast.
Since we can no longer visit Earl’s Drive-In , Sophia’s was the last restaurant to cross off our “Guy Fieri visited here” list . After watching their episode I wasn’t terribly impressed, sure the food looked alright but I’ve had plenty of good chicken souvlaki in diners around Buffalo and wasn’t so sure what was special about this place. But recently I had a conversation with my friend (and former contributor) Chris and he swore that Sophia’s was not only fantastic but they were serving the best breakfast in WNY. He warned about long waits at peak hours on the weekend and that a line forms at the door. When Alli, my brother Tom and I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon around 1pm we found a small line outside the doors and down the steps. Luckily, we didn’t have to wait too long and were sitting down at a booth within 20 minutes. The inside of the restaurant appears to have received a facelift since their time in the spotlight in 2010, but the dining room is still pretty small and tight.
