I loved it here. It was my first time trying a Cuban restaurant and I have no regrets whatsoever.
Service was very fair and the atmosphere was nice too. At first it seemed small but I took a walk around and it’s so may tables. I’ll definitely go again.
This restaurant was incredible; starting with the Cuban sangria which was👌🏾, and my appetizer was the Papa Rellena which was full of flavor *Chefs kiss*!
The entree, Camarones Al Ajillo was incredibly delicious. I loved the decor & ambiance, and the service was attentive and friendly. I’ll definitely be returning!
Cuba De Ayer offers authentic home-style Cuban cuisine with an amazing ambiance, delightful music, prompt service, and a friendly staff. Guillermo, a fantastic team member, was incredibly courteous and provided excellent recommendations for our meal. I enjoyed appetizers and the deliciously seasoned trucha (trout), with generous portions and reasonable prices on the menu. We tried various menu items, including Pan Con Ajo, beef and cheese guava empanadas—especially recommended if you have a sweet tooth—and other dishes like Camarones Al Ajillo, Bistec Saltedo, and churrasco Cubano steak. Highly recommend and will return!
My sis-friend treated me to Cuban food on Saturday as a first-timer and I really enjoyed it! I got Pollo Salteado and chocolate fudge cake, and it was yummy! 😋 Also, the staff is friendly and the ambience is super nice!
Looking for some really good Cuban food! Well this place is so good they’re always consistent and the service is always on point. I recommend getting the empanadas (best in town) the guava margarita is everything! You will not be disappointed, everything is awesome!
I recently dined at Cuba de Ayer, a Cuban restaurant, and had a wonderful experience. Making reservations through OpenTable was a breeze, and I secured a table for 3:00 on a Saturday. To start, I ordered the mango and passion fruit mojito (yes, two. don’t judge), which were a bit on the pricier side but expertly crafted. The flavors were great, and I wouldn't change a thing about them. Moving on to the main course, I opted for the Ropa Vieja, a traditional Cuban dish. It exceeded my expectations with its generous portion of tender beef and perfectly seasoned flavors. It paired exceptionally well with the Yuca con Mojo Criollo (Yuca with Garlic Sauce). The service was excellent, and the food arrived promptly. I left the restaurant thoroughly satisfied and already looking forward to my next visit.
Everything was superb. Guillermo was a wonderful member of the staff. Very courteous and offered some excellent suggestions on what to order. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is the best!
I grew up in Burtonsville but now only visit occasionally. I went to CDA when they first opened probably 15 years ago. This was the first time I have been back and WOW! Not only have they expanded the food is still top notch! The atmosphere is inviting and the staff is very friendly. I sat at the bar and both bartenders were conversational...their recommendations were great! The menu is diverse and there is something for everyone. The Tres Leches cake is still the best I have ever had. It is wonderful to see a restaurant not only stand the test of time but grow and flourish! I will definitely be stopping in every time I come back...unless I can convince them to open one in Delaware 😉
The food was great as always and their staff is friendly. I wish they had a better kids menu or even crayons and an activity book for children. Something to keep them occupied. My husband and I love this place but don't go often because there's not many options for kids. They could change up the menu every now and then too.

The flavor of the Cuban Salteado was incredible, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The rice and black beans were tender and full of flavor, and the tostones were crispy and delicious. The portion size was also very generous, which made for a great value. The atmosphere of Cuba de Ayer was charming and had a nostalgic feel to it. The service provided by the hostess was exceptional; she was courteous and made sure that I had everything that I needed. Overall, I would highly recommend Cuba de Ayer to anyone looking for a great Cuban restaurant in the area. The food, service, and atmosphere make it a true hidden gem that should not be missed!
