Good food. Good value for money. Could be better. Wanted to give 4.5.
Food is great but not spicy enough. I went twice in different times (we went back because we liked it). First time I asked for medium spice knowing that Thai food can be pretty spicy, no spicy enough. Second time, I asked for spicy, this time was perfect. Panang curry is not the best I tried but I loved the green basil plate.
Small place, nice service and pretty decent Thai food
Better than Before! Since we speak Thai, So we have a little chat whit the chef and management. They just move out from busy Thai town and create their own kitchen here. They are just great. This is one of the few times that we had better Thai food outside Thailand.
Many things to recommend indeed. We had Fried Pork Basil, 2 Som Tam (papaya salad); Tam Thai(vegetarian salad) and Tam Laos (adding Thai Pickled Fish/chef's recommended) and of course Pad Thai (Stir-fried Rice Noodle.
We will be back again for sure!
Finally a good Thai spot for this area. Food was authentic and great quality. Will definitely be visiting again. The Rad Na and curry were delicious, and the Tom Kha Kai fantastic.
Great options for vegetarians, including soy chicken products! Their curry dishes are very large, too, and not too spicy.
A hidden restaurant within the Calabasas hills, Green Basil offers a variety of authentic Thai dishes ranging from noodles to curries. The Pad Thai, Panang Curry, and Red Curry are definite classics and are always a delicious choice here.
One of the better Green Papaya Salads I've had. Not afraid to use the dried shrimp, which is much more authentic and flavorful. At the same time $12 is a lot for a salad with a tablespoon or two of dried shrimp and peanuts and no other protein. Flavor is great but the price was on the higher end for what was essentially half a container of cabbage pieces and half a wad of papaya. With the absence of a lunch menu at this time you're left with the choice of getting a full dinner entree for lunch which is way too much food for most people or this, a low protein salad that is just as expensive as a full dinner entree with beef or chicken. Doesn't add up guys.
