Truly one of Camden, NJ’s best kept secrets! My sons and I stopped there on our way home from an afternoon Phillies game. It was easy to find on Haddon Ave and parking was very convenient. Once inside, we were warmly greeted by other patrons as well as the owner and employees. We sat at the bar and ordered the best cheesesteak we have ever had! The beer selection was decent and it was ice cold! The establishment seems to be mostly original with seating at the bar along with a few tables out front and a back room filled with tables. The place was hopping and the food and drinks were awesome! Definitely a place we will visit again and again! Don’t forget to pick up a cool tee shirt while you’re there. You can’t beat it for 10 bucks!
Great Service, Great Cheese Steak Sandwich. I must say that it does not compare to any other sandwich that I have tasted in the surrounding areas nor can it be compare to any other. It however, stands alone as a great one of a kind! The Bartenders and Servers are probably the friendliest and proudest of staff that I have ever met. Great bar and Beer selections. A great neighborhood bar to drop by for a great meal and a cold one.
I look forward to my next bite.

Great spot to have a cheesesteak. It's not a traditional take since it's on a poppy seed bun but it's so delicious! I loved the spicy pepper mix and loaded up my sandwich with it. The spicy pickle and stuffed cherry pepper were also great additions. Couldn't ask for more!
This place is amazing! It's small, but definitely is busy. We came in around 11:30a and there was a line of people on the inside waiting for their orders. We were able to grab a table tho. The menu is simple, but SO DELICIOUS!!! The amount of onions you get is out of this world and there is an option to add more. The fries have a yummy seasoning and the cheese just enhanced the flavor. There are cool t-shirts to purchase and above all else, everyone is SO friendly including the customer base. We got our food around 12p and by then people were looking for spots to sit and eat at so I do recommended to come in a bit earlier to beat any rushes they might have. Definitely worth the wait!
Great cheesesteak, even in western Canada Donkey’s Place’s reputation is known. It did not disappoint. The sandwiches are huge so come prepared. Best eaten fresh in the restaurant as they will get soggy if they sit in the bag too long. If I lived anywhere close I would certainly come back.
Donkeys place has a New Jersey style cheesesteak. They are huge, and you won’t leave feeling hungry. This is definitely a hole in the wall place, you’d miss it if you didn’t know it was there. The bread is very soft and not tough, unlike a lot of Philly cheesesteaks. Be prepared to come hungry. Our service was good as well.

Actually went for a late breakfast. Got a cheesesteaks with fried onions. Had no idea what to expect.
The taste was amazing and the service was great.
The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was the sliced meat was a bit hard to eat - you really have to bite through and it slides out of the bun. That all said the sandwich was amazing.
Top 3, possibly best, steak of my life. The owner took care of us, very friendly guy, pours a great Guinness, and made us up the special ketchup/oil mix for our fries. Great experience and I left completely stuffed and happy.
Great little place tucked in the city. When you make one thing delicious you build the menu around that. The cheesesteak on a round roll was a game changer for us long roll enthusiast. Very tasty, the carmelized onions made the dish. Wings were amazing but not on the menu daily. We got lucky. Thanks Guy Fieri for airing this place on your show!!
So often you hear so much hype about a place to eat that it’s hard to live up to the reputation. Donkey’s Place did not disappoint. Anthony Bourdain and The Goldbergs got it right! The Best Cheesesteak in the Philly area is in Camden NJ!!!
