Awesome ribs!!! Killer smoked sausage!!! Amazing grilled asparagus!!! What a cool old building, right on the mighty Mississippi river. And the food was not only delicious, it was plated so attractively. We're just passing through, but I'm so glad we found Port Cape bbq. Highly recommended!

Terrible service. After waiting way to long to be seated on a slow Sunday evening and being stated out by waitresses (unfortunately not the hostess) we were sat and told the waitress we needed a couple minutes when we first sat down. 20 minutes later when we were ready to walk out she finally found the time to ask us what we wanted. The food came out in a timely manner and was very good, but by that time my mood had soured. All in all good food and would recommend as lang as you can get past the service

Great spot on the river front. We go to Cape three or four times a year and my wife and I were really bummed out after we found out our favorite stop at the riverfront had closed its doors. However, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. We had eaten at Port Cape several years ago for a family reunion and then sort of forgot about the place. It looked about the same inside with a great view of the riverfront and a whimsical country feel inside. The staff was prompt and inviting and the food was superb. I had the beef brisket sandwich with pimento cheese spread on it and it was outstanding, my wife ordered a Ruben Sandwich and really enjoyed it as well. The sweet tea was great and their onion rings were awesome. We plan on going back next time we are in town.

Great place to eat. Come to Cape G twice a year. Second time to eat here. Had fun both times.
Wonderful atmosphere and history in the restaurant. Lunch was actually better than supper...supper burger was a bit overcooked and the great Belaires we had at lunch the 1st time were half a day dry this time. Heavily breaded onion rings, but very good.
The wait staff was great...even when my wife spilled a huge glass of ice water in my lap and we laughed so hard we couldn't stand up.
Great window for ice cream in case you just are out walking.
Was kinda eerie sitting 30' from the closed flood wall with water seeping under the sandbags.
Probably our first meal under water! The Mississippi River was several feet above our heads just 30 feet away!
Cool, relaxed, enjoyable place to eat.
The floor slopes towards the river in this old building...so that back before the wall at least the water would flow out.

Great Service. I was visiting from out of town and also had to pleasure of meeting "Lauren". She was honestly the best server I have ever had. She even asked where I was from, and was so knowledgeable about the menu. She talked me into the nacos as well, which were to die for. My drink was never empty. Best experience I could have asked for after 12 hours in the car. Great job. Will be back soon!

Classic. Some friends and I had the chance to enjoy the riverfront last week during some nicer weather. We stopped into conveniently located Port Cape and had lunch .
The atmosphere was cozy . We met "Doc" the owner who sat us , introduced us to Lauren , who served us the most delicious pulled smoked pork sandwiches I've had in the area . I also highly recommend the pig chips!.
nice place

Amazing!. Myself and 4 friends decided to have dinner here a few nights ago and let me tell you it was fantastic! From the atmosphere to the service to the food,it was a great dining experience! The Pork Steak cannot be beaten anywhere in the state! It was absolutely wonderful! Added the Steak Fries and Grilled Asparagus as my sides and it was the perfect meal! Our server,Kevin, was delightful and very knowledgeable about the history of the building and the menu items.I highly recommend you try Port Cape in downtown Cape Girardeau! You won't regret it!

My friend and her 7 year old daughter and I were staying in the Kage House (through VRBO.com) just up the street & decided to have dinner here. It was such a cool place. Great good & atmosphere & great service. My friend had the grilled salmon, fried okra. It was a very generous portion of salmon & she said it might have been the best she had ever had. Her 7 year old daughter had the BBQ buffet (which was free for children under 9). The waitress brought us biscuits & strawberry butter before our meal, also very good. I had a pulled BBQ sandwich & grilled asparagus, it was a very generous portion & the bun was fresh & the meat was delicious. We would recommend this place highly, it was GREAT!!

Looking for real BBQ -- found it!. We walked the streets of Old Cape Girardeau looking for real BBQ and had about given up until we turned off to a side street and discovered the Port Cape Girardeau Restaurant. You can almost feel the old steam paddle wheeler crews hanging out here. Doc's dry rub BBQ was perfect. When our son, a BBQ expert, saw a picture of the "smokering" in the meat he was envious. They have unique side offerings and save room for the cobblers.

With what I experienced with the brisket and pimento cheese sandwich at Port Cape, I'm somewhat intrigued by what else they may have in terms of barbecue. Port Cape was a nice little stop for a late lunch and we were both happy with what we got.
