Beautiful scenery while eating lunch. Our waitress was very attentive and had a few menu suggestions. I had the coconut shrimp with fries and the shrimp bisque. My husband had the chowder and the grilled shrimp salad. Our lunch was delicious.
We’ve visited Captiva many times and this was our first time going to The Green Flash. I can’t believe it took us so long to stop by! Great service and fantastic food! Our waiter was friendly and efficient, the food was tasty and affordable. The Apple crumb cake was superb! The restaurant itself has the best view on Captiva. Today was the first of many visits to come.
It's a beautiful place. The views are amazing. We had a nice table inside with a great view. The service was good and the staff very attentive. The food was okay. I ordered the stuffed shrimp and unfortunately they are not what I am used to. They were missing the crunchy bread crumbs on top so the stuffing was mushy and falling apart. My husband ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp which were pretty good. I gave it a 4 because the views were amazing.
Had a great lunch here looking out at the water and sunshine. Great food and drinks and service. I Had the tuna sandwich which was amazing and I could not eat it all. My husband had the crunchy grouper sandwich and it was cooked perfectly. Nice and moist on the inside and crisp outside. Everything was amazing and we will definitely be back. Don’t miss this gem. Btw… our price per person looks high but that includes several drinks each that we enjoyed. Bartender is wonderful as well. Prices are reasonable. No complaints!
We came by boat, and it was worth the trip. The docks are well kept, and it was easy to pull in and tie up. We came on a Sunday, and sat inside with an overview of the water. Our server made us feel welcome, and had good suggestions for lunch. I had the Pool Boy mule, and it was light and refreshing. Both of our lunches were delicious, but the highlight was the creme brulee, smooth and creamy with an extra crispy top.
Update since hurricane- haven't been since. Waiting for them to recover.
The sunsets are great here. I love eating both inside and outside. Food is great and so is the service everytime. I like their t-shirts you can buy as well. The cups are great quality. Strong and flimsy. Convenient for the beach. The dock is a nice place to look at the water from but not when no seeums are around. The bar is well attended and they play sports on the tvs.
The Green Flash Restaurant and Bar has a very nice view. Inside and outside seating. The food was good. Servers ok.
They have their own parking lot and seem to get quite busy at sunset.
There was a bit of a wait even though we already had a reservation. Seemed to be telling everyone to go to the bar and wait whether they had a reservation or not.
What a wonderful welcome back to Captiva! The Green Flash did not disappoint!
The atmosphere was wonderful, service was spectacular and the food was delicious.
We have been coming to Captiva for 30+ years and were so excited to be back after Ian. We knew we were coming before everything was back to “normal” and prepared ourselves for bumps in the road and having plenty of patience and grace as we tried to support the local restaurants, shops and vendors rebuilding on the island.
The Green Flash required none of this. In addition to a wonderful evening on the water, delicious food and exceptional service, they made a point of thanking us for coming back to the island to support the local businesses and help them recover. We were more than happy to do so and thankful we came to this restaurant. The Green Flash will be back on our annual visit list and we will be there again before our week here is over! Highly recommend
Nice place along the water for lunch or dinner. Varied menu so there's probably something for everyone. I had the Grouper sandwich, it was good. My wife had the special, also Grouper but prepared differently, she enjoyed her meal as well. Great service. Parking is free next to the restaurant. There's an indoor bar and the restaurant has indoor seating with a water view and outdoor seating with water view.
The Green Flash was excellent! I think it's my favorite restaurant that I've visited on this trip. The food was great and the drinks were spectacular! And the prices are right about average for restaurants on the island. There is lots of outdoor seating and great views of the bay from the dining room. Highly recommend!
Good drinks, served strong. Beautiful view of the water with shade/fans available or seats right on the dock. Boats can pull right up, dock and eat. Super fun to sit and watch the birds/boats. Captiva salad and shrimp bisque were particularly good. Treat yourself to one of their boozy coffees on a chilly morning. Definitely check out the woman’s bathroom. 😉
Overall a very pleasant experience.
Very impressive wine menu, great cocktails and our server was really knowledgeable. Also, the inside is very elegant and serves wonderfully as a spot for a date or anniversary as they have a beautiful view of the bay.
The shrimp bisque was incredible. The BBQ shrimp were cooked well and had a great smokiness to them.
For dinner I had the crab stuffed grouper which was pretty good but a little under seasoned and the Spätzle was unfortunately very dry.
We tried their version of a key lime pie which has a slight frozen consistency which I thought paired very well with the sweet graham cracker crust.
Definitely will be coming back when we make it out to Captiva again.
We enjoyed a great dinning experience because of a wonderful waitress and delicious entrees. The menu is expensive but the entrees are worth their prices. I appreciated the extensive drink menu of wines, liquor, and house drinks.
We decided last minute to stop in for a late lunch/early dinner at about 3pm on a Friday afternoon. They weren’t busy, and our friendly waiter AJ gave us his full attention. He was excellent from start to finish! We tried the oysters Rockefeller and mozzarella sticks as starters - divine! Our meals were even better. The salmon was the highlight, followed closely by the coconut shrimp and their daily special of the rare tuna. The bay view is awesome!

We dined in the outside dining area. It was great watching boats come and go. The wait staff was friendly and efficient. The food was tasty, the prices were in-line with other, similar establishment on the island, and the portions were ample. I had fish tacos and they were delicious. My wife had coconut shrimp which she also liked very much. The facilities were clean and well-maintained. We have no hesitation recommending The Green Flash to others who are looking for a satisfying dining experience. An additional note: The inside dining is elevated and also offers a nice view of the Pine Island Sound.
We have just had lunch after Green Flash’s reopening post Hurricane Ian. We went there by boat. The docks are all repaired. I ordered the seafood pasta special and a cup of Conch soup and they are delicious!! Our waitress is Carley. She is very friendly and knows about all the dishes. It’s nice to have a good conversation with her as well. Highly recommend this place!!
