Hoping my 5-star rating can at least cancel out the 3-star rating Lauren Rachael gave the restaurant for "great food and service". Penalizing a restaurant for there being bugs outside while choosing to dine outside is like giving an umbrella bad marks because it's always raining when you use it. If you're used to living under a dome, this restaurant's outdoor patio may not be for you. Their food and staff are great by the way. A wonderful local establishment with no divine influence on preventing the presence of bugs, rain, wind, or daft patrons. Cheers!
We went there on a recommendation from a friend. We may have waited 5 minutes for a table. We sat outside. My seat was a little wet from the rain the previous night but she immediately got a towel and wiped it off. We ordered and was surprised how quickly the food came out! It was very good. Service was excellent! Would definitely go back.

The food looked and tasted amazing! The staff was also very attentive and service was great! I can't wait to go again and try some other dishes I saw brought out to other customers, like their breakfast croissant. Looked so delicious!

A must-visit on any trip to see my folks. Breakfast all day, including delicious sticky buns (with or without raisins) and, if you're lucky, the artichoke omelet. Service is always great, and the outdoor seating includes a delightful mural and seaside-themed stained glass. I've only ever been disappointed by their coffee, but to be fair, I'm a northwest coffee snob, and I've never admitted my disappointment before now and presented an opportunity for improvement.
Fabulous food and very decent prices! There is something for everyone off this menu. We ate here multiple times on our trip and completely enjoyed every meal. The service was top notch.
Stopped twice for breakfast here in one weekend. Even on a Sunday morning it wasn’t too busy for us to grab a seat. Actually had the same great waitress both days. Pancakes, French toast (so good!!), eggs/toast were all great. Add a biscuit to your order if you have room!!
The Daily News is an adorable place to eat. You can dine inside or out. The service is amazing and we love their breakfast.
It can get crowded, but don't worry, the wait is not bad at all. We were seated indoors pretty fast and the interior is lovely. Everything is clean and the place is well cared for.

Nice environment to grab breakfast. Outside patio is always nice, watch the people go by while waiting for your order. Good food and reasonable price. Beside it's close to the beach and shopping stores.
I popped into Daily News for a quick to-go lunch. A server greeted me immediately with pleasantry and was very quick and attentive in taking my order. She then hand-delivered my order to me outside in less than 5 minutes!! The whole experience was quicker than a fast food drive-thru but so much better. My French Dip sandwich was hot and fresh, and my pasta salad had the best crisp diced vegetables and wasn't soggy at all. Super fresh, excellent service and speedy! I'll be back! Thank you!
This is a new favorite spot for us in Carlsbad! Going to come here everytime we visit! Try the cinnamon roll! Best I have ever tasted!
