We came in for lunch. The hostess was super polite despite some older women being unnecessarily rude. The servers jumped in to help get us sat. The bathrooms are super clean as was the entire restaurant. Our server was great at getting the kids food and apps in. We did take our time deciding and the server mixed up some sides putting spinach vs the zucchini, but my mother enjoyed the spinach. The asparagus was cooked perfectly and the service was kind to remind us its an up charge while ordering. My mother really enjoyed scallops. they were beautifully cooked and using lemon juice really enhanced the flavors. The raw oysters were well prepared. They were definitely fresh and came out very quick with a variety of sauces. The kids ordered the grilled cheese which is a buttery sourdough bread even the grownups enjoyed taking a bite. My husband ordered top sirloin with mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. He didn't care for the Mac and cheese it's definitely on the fancier side. The mashed potatoes are seasoned well. The pine avenue drinks thyme is very strong I like to stick with the Beauregard drink.

Great dining area and outdoor patios. Menu is extensive. I had the Chilean Sea Bass and my wife had the Macadamia Crusted Halibut. Both were good. The halibut was more generous then the bass. The baked potatoes were great. The prices are about what you’d expect. The service was good. Bread with dinner was nice.

The three stars is for the restaurant as a whole, as the food was very yummy. So consider going to their other locations.
Well after waiting two hours and all these empty tables.
We had 4 kids with us, and a sibling with an autoimmune disease who needs to eat within a certain amount of time. We were quoted another 40 min. after the two hour wait which then we went to the bar area to be seated on our own. Finally they got us a table since we had kids and didn’t feel safe on the tall stools. We then had to wait another 5 minutes for the table to be cleaned. The servers at the bar were very lovely and helpful. They took notice that we were there for an extended time and were trying to accommodate, while the hostess was extremely unfriendly.
Now for the food.
Bread was stellar, the shrimp pasta was way too spicy (ate one bite and sent it back to a random waitress since ours was never around), shrimp cocktail was fresh, and the Caesar salad was flavorful. Between all 10 of us, there were a handful of entrees that were tried and were enjoyed!
Service was terrible. Our waitress was nice but we saw her 4 times. Once to take our order, 2nd to bring 3 late entrees that didn’t come out with all the other food, 3rd to drop the check, and 4th to have us sign for the check.
Overall if you want good food and have the whole night open with nowhere to be, go for it.
They should just say reservations only instead of misleading us on the wait time.

Nice place for meeting and talking with people. Had a great time while dining here. The food was delicious and our server was very friendly. Just prepare to spend some money.

Great fresh fish we had the salmon, and halibut it was melt in your mouth awesomeness! They also had a decent cheeseburger for those those don't like seafood so no fear for non-fish lovers in the group.

My girlfriend and her husband introduced me to this place. High quality seafood and great service. I had the blackened halibut with organic rainbow carrots and a baked potato. Also, we shared a sampler of a dozen oysters. Everything was delicious.

Fun, family friendly restaurant. Large menu. We were able to make a reservation for a large party & were seated quickly. We had several picky eaters but there was something for everyone & all enjoyed their food. You can choose a free dessert for your birthday. Pictured is the strawberry shortcake and creme brulee, both are big enough to share!

Overall I liked this place. Very, very busy Saturday night on Mother's Day weekend. We're seated in a timely manner as we had a reservation. Loved the atmosphere! Our waitress greeted us right away and got our beverage and appetizer order in. This place is awesome for kids! Their kids menus and kids drink cups are super impressive. Seems silly but I'd go back there just for them. They also have a lot of great choices for kids meals � The menu is extensive and offers so many different yummy things I wanted to try. I ended up ordering the calamari and soft shelled crab southern style. The calamari was good and my crab entree was delicious. My daughter (6) ordered a California roll and ate the whole thing. My Mom got the sand dabs and raved about them. The only disappointment was the wait for our dessert it was 25-30 minutes! After about 15 our waitress told us she had cracked the whip on the kitchen but it was another 10-15 min for our dessert to be served. I thought it was odd that she was standing at the waitress station with about 4 other servers. She looked at us and saw we still didn't have our desserts. Another waitress then went back to the kitchen and brought them out to us. It's almost like our waitress didn't want to bring them out as we had been waiting so long? She did apologize later but it would have been nice to have been compensated some what for the ridiculous wait. Had we known it would be that long we would have just passed. The Creme Brûlée wasn't that good, pretty flavorless and a different consistency than what I'm used to. Other than the dessert thing it was a really great experience and we enjoyed the food. Just as a side note to whoever reviews these comments.....responding to all low scored reviews with "We're sorry we let you down" doesn't seem genuine or that you truly value your customer. That would further irritate me if I already had a bad experience. There is a lot you could do to try to make things right for your customers and try to regain their business �

Wonderful restaurant! It was my Birthday and had lunch with my daughter and grandchildern. Our waiter Carson was terrific! Perfect service! The food was outstanding! My family brought cupcakes which he served us after our meal. In addition Carson brought me a beautiful fresh strawberry short cake as well! We have found our new go to place in Carlsbad! Thanks so much to the whole staff!

The Lobster is fresh & delicious! Service is also great here. King’s Fish House has been a long time favorite spot for our whole family. We usually dine here with the whole family crew. I highly recommend King’s Fish House. Excellent spot for travelers looking for a great meal!😘

Really great restaurant. Was on vacation visiting Legoland from Phoenix. Our first family vacation since we adopted him.l our son. Decided to eat out away from the resort and was happy to try this place. Had a reservation so didn't have to wait. Enjoyed the crab cakes, lobster bisque, and halibut tacos. Only criticism is that the tortillas used for the tacos were not great but the filling was good enough to eat with a fork. The shrimp taquitos were incredible. Friendly staff and an enjoyable meal overall.

Was here last night on vacation, and would not recommend. Two bowls of clam chowder soup, each only 1/2 full, sad was sharing with grandkids. Waiter recommended wild salmon in a sauce for husband and way to much sauce that he couldn’t finish the salmon. Grandkids got the kids fried shrimp and even though they ate it, they had to remove 1/2 the breading because burnt. I had a shrimp in tomato base pasta and wasn’t half bad, but totally did not agree with me later. For the price of $120 was so not worth it.

We live in Vista and never been too Kings before and hear was pricey buy good. So we arrived at 445pm plenty of room and chose bar area. Nice decor and everyone was friendly for sure. That is where we went down hill from there. We asked for margarita's $11 each in cocktail glass with lots ice. ?? Ouch!!!! Then we order medium fillet and get rare blood red still moving meat. No grill so maybe they microwave it...Then I got Wild Halibut for $34 and was dry and mash potatoes they for got to mash....Then we ordered a beer that took 15 minutes to get and three attempts to get it. We had to ask for help too many times and our servers looked all confused and not good experience. My wife made me leave $10 tip..total bill $118 ??????? This what is wrong with america. If you pay good money deliver good food and get good cooks...I am not only one who has seen this crap going on in restaurants. We are over 60 years old and know crap when we see it. Shame!!!!!!!!!

My Halibut was excellent, but my husband's Salmon was really plain. He had it grilled but it did not have any flavor. Our waiter was good but not excellent. He could have been more attentive. All in all I would have given it 3.5 stars, but could not do that.

The Manager was awesome, we had a small bit of confusion, but the Manager stepped in and took care of us. I'm sorry that I didn't catch her name, but Thank you for a great day with my daughters. The food was delicious, and I will definitely come back to this place.

You cannot dine there without sampling their clam chowder, oh so very good.
I had the porterhouse and lobster with mac n' cheese and sweet corn. Never had such a large serving of lobster, which I love.
My wife had the Seafood Sampler which at times, I tried to sample. Tyler was our server and he was beyond outstanding!!!

I usually never post about food unless it was really good but I had to blast Kong’s in Carlsbad or whatever that city was. Potatoes were room temp asparagus was burnt so I sent them back over all, not impressed at all. Clam chowder was ok at best. Big franchise living off of their name and location. The waiter was nice. I told him that he is the last person to see this plate being served don’t let a crappy cook send you out with a plate full of cold burned food.

Eat at KFH at least once a week best service and selections in the neighborhood can’t remember when I’ve ever had a bad experience in a year and a half ! If you think you’ve had the best clam chowder , you won’t believe the flavors, get ready cowboy start with a bowl bet you’ll want another .
