It doesn't get more romantic than a charming, authentic Italian restaurant next to a candy shop, just a few blocks from the Pacific Ocean. Besides the ambience, the food was out of this world. We loved the polpette mixto plate because of the unique variety of meatballs it allows you to try. For our entrees, we had the short rib pasta, and the seafood pasta. We were still talking about both the next day! Make sure you stick around for dessert because they have two kinds of tiramisu that are equally great!

This was AMAZING!! My sister & niece found it and strongly recommended it. I had the lamb shank my husband had the short rib pasta! He said, the last bite was just as good as the first!! The shank was perfect!!! We had the mushroom meatballs & eggplant as appetizers. Finished it off with Taramasu (sp). Like other reviews, staff were GREAT in every way. Can't say enough positives!! Look forward to our return

Staff attento e amichevole. Consigliatissimo!

They were so sweet to my family and my little dog. We ate outside because it was nice out and the scenery was really calm, closed & hidden anyway. There are warmers out for us. The risotto was so good I can’t forget it. The dishes we had were a perfect size and filling. They also took the effort to communicate in Spanish to my dad. We felt really welcomed and were left with a positive experience.

Italian food the way it's made in the countryside: not super refined, really savory and nicely presented. Staff is friendly and some will chat with you in Italian. The octopus appetizer, lamb shank and bombolini (donut) were superb.

This is arguably one of the best if not, the best restaurant I have dined in in the US. The place is quite hidden (which adds to the charm) and to be clear, it is expensive. However, if you are looking for European dining experience and high quality food, this is the place and, hey, you pay the price. The host is very agreeable, the waitress very nice. The restaurant is small, beautifully decorated and cozy. This is NOT an eatery!! This is for you ONLY if you know how to take time to appreciate good cuisine!! Highly recommended!!

This was the best Italian food that I have had outside of Italy. The food was flavourful and the pasta melted in my mouth. The pasta was very well cooked and felt like the chef had kneaded the dough with a lot of love ♥️ The host did a brilliant, enthusiastic oration of walking us through every item on the menu. This isn’t optional and honestly helped us a lot in deciding what to eat. The waitress and service was great. Food arrived on time, hot on a cold windy day. We had the ravioli, the mushroom and pork pasta - which was the speciality of the day, fried zucchini, egg plant side and chocolate cake. They had elaborate options for the wines but I felt like hot tea and ordered the jasmine tea. It was kinda nice with the Italian food. They have outdoor seating with heaters and it was cozy and very romantic. Highly recommend the place.

A hidden gem in an historic building here in Carmel, this Italian restaurant is named after the small pans the owner's mother collected, Il Tegamino.

Cute and cozy outdoor dining that’s not by the street so you won’t hear or smell cars zipping by. We came here for dinner and the service was great, ambiance romantic and felt safe. Tables were spread apart and servers all wore masks. Recommend making a reservation and they only allow you to stay for 90 minutes which is plenty of time. Their pastas are sizable portions so we ended up only getting the octopus appetizer and a pasta each and the tiramisu to share at the end. We left super full and fulfilled. They do traditional pastas and simple, no frills. Come for a casual comfortable meal.

if i could rate this restaurant 495 stars more than the 5 stars i have, the 500 stars would be incredibly accurate. The gnocchi from this place is the most heavenly thing i’ve ever eaten, it’s like dying, going to heaven, then coming back to earth. Don’t leave this earth before trying this delicious meal.

What a gem. Sooooo good. The best meal we had in Carmel during 4 days stay. The service and staff were amazing. Friendly yet professional. Food...we started with Burrata and toasts mash potatoes with Ham. Both delicious. We had bucattini with white sauce, salad, steak and spaghetti for main. We loved every dish. Tasty, special. We sat outside due to corona and it was beautiful. They had warmers. Really great evening. Don't miss it. Its hidden but a must visit.

We have been here as a family a few times now. Seriously delicious Italian food, great service and a feeling that you’re valued as a customer (the owner actually sang a Blipi song with our daughter). An absolute gem of a restaurant.

Fantastic food. The place can be a bit busy, but it is worth the wait. We waited an hour on a Saturday night but there was plenty of things to do to pass the time. The service here was also superb. The staff explained the menu and was overall very courteous. You do have to ask if you want more water. The complimentary bread with sauted zucchini was delicious. I believe it was cooked in an olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette, which gave it a very tangy flavor that worked. It helped open the palate rather than just as something to eat while your order was put in. We ordered the Gnocchi, Paccheri, Pescatora, and the special of the day which was a lobster Ravioli and bay shrimp cooked in an artichoke cream. All the dishes were delicious but my top two favorite was the ravioli and the Paccheri. The meat in the Paccheri was cooked very well. The pork ribs was filled with flavor and very tender. and the sauce was well made. The artichoke cream in the ravioli worked really well. While there wasn't much lobster in it, there were plenty of shrimp. The ravioli wasn't overstuffed with ricotta, but rather enough to give it the perfect texture. This allowed the other flavors of the dish to come forward. The prices were very reasonable for the portion and quality. Highly recommend this place and will return.

Absolutely amazing dinner. Each bite of the Fig Asiago Raviolini was filled with an amazing mix of flavors. The walnut, mushroom and Asiago favors all mixing with the sauce made me stop and savor each bite.

It's not easy to find a quiet little perch for a nice dinner just off super-crowded Ocean Avenue, but Il Tegamino definitely fits the bill. This is a family-run restaurant where Salvatore, the brother of the owner, often holds court as the maitre-d. He's a lot of fun and a great host. The menu is based on a Naples-style, rustic approach to cooking. Lots of meat -- steaks, pork / beef ragu, chicken. The highlight by far is the homemade pasta, and lots of it. We had a fettuccine with porcini mushrooms and lots of garlic, and an amazing bowl of pork and sausage ragu over thick, loopy noodles. Both were outstanding. The zucchini parmigiana starter was thick and cheesy and great with their basket of house bread. Nice wine list, heavy on Italian bottles but with some solid California selections, too. One of the only lists I've found lately with Miner "The Oracle" on it. Service was friendly, nicely paced and very relaxed. Certainly feels like a family-owned and operated business, and the location is a major plus. Worth a try for sure.

Great experience. Loved the fish sauce with the steak. Didn't think the Kansas steak was worth the hype. I probably would have just got the ribeye. I'd rather spend that or more on wagyu it was tough and not quality.
