This place was highly recommended by all the locals and it did not disappoint. Happy hour was a blast, the staff was great, and the food spectacular! We will be back next year!
We really enjoyed happy hour here.the rooftop was closed because of rain but we sat by a cozy fire. The happy hour menu is extensive. The food did not disappoint. The clams, garlic bread and grilled Artichoke were delicious! Friendly prompt service.

This place is amazing! Sat on the rooftop for cocktails while waiting for a table. It was lovely! The restaurant did not disappoint! We had the ribeye and it was one of the best steaks I've ever had! The whole experience was delightful!
Just returned after 18 days in Italy, and Pèpe and Vesuvio made us feel like we were back.
Great authentic dishes and the service was fantastic. Be willing to drop a bank roll here though because it’s a bit spendy. Still very worth it. Will be back.

What a great place!! Happy hour in the rooftop!! Great food and drinks. The steamed clams were amazing!! 🍸🎼🍔🍤🍻
We were there for happy hour and what a great atmosphere on the roof top bar ! Joel the bartender was excellent! Had the garlic bread which was incredible and the margherita pizza was wonderful also ! A definite stop if you visit Carmel !!
As a long time Carmel resident, it's sometimes easy to take for granted how incredible it is to live in this slice of heaven. Among other things we have an amazing choice of fine restaurants to choose from and we have enjoyed many fine dining experiences over the years....but one place has become our all around "go to" place. When we go to Vesuvio we are always greeted like family by Sergio, Jessica, Fernando, Christian and Fabian...but so are all the locals who frequent the bar area and tourists who are experiencing this fine restaurant for the first time. The food is outstanding and we are amazed at the consistency. When you go there you'll understand why so many locals keep coming back...it's like going home for dinner...if you were fortunate enough to grow up Italian!
Had an outstanding happy hour on the roof top terrace. Great service, fantastic selection and tasty food. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked good. We'll be back.
One of the best steak I had in a long time !!
Nice crowed, lovely service and great environment.
Highly recommended :)))
This is one of our 2 ultimate favorite places in Carmel. The drinks are wonderful, the food is fantastic and the service is great. Love the rooftop bar.
Loved the roof top Happy Hour- great well Margarita and very friendly staff. I would order the Artichoke lollipops- they were deeee-lish!
Outstanding food and service. Hostess got us in after another restaurant run around. We were on vacation and celebrating our sons return from deployment. Definitely coming back next visit to Carmel.
Vesuvio is located in the beautiful city of Carmel by the sea. It is a quaint city located a couple of hours away from San Francisco on CA 1.
The service at this restaurant is outstanding. While taking the order the waiter suggested a couple of house specials. Glad that we accepted his car suggestions as food is delicious.
Food was very good, we had a wide variety at our table and all 6 of us enjoyed our choices. We shared the roasted garlic bulb appetizer, which was awesome. Service was excellent! Portions were large, we wished we had shared plates. My spaghetti and meatballs was a tad spicy, it was very good but the spice level may surprise someone else.
Ok, one of the best Italian restaurants I've eaten at. Definitely in my top two. Jessica, (waitress) was awesome!!! Roasted artichoke was the best I've ever had. Risotto and the "Sinatra" were stupid delicious. Only bad note, $30 for a 45 second corkage fee!!!!!!!!! I'd rather give the money to my amazing waitress!!!! The corkage fee was more expensive than some of the amazing food on there menu!!!! Anyways, it was sooooooo Delicious. We will be back for sure!!!!
This place was so cute! And the happy hour was great! We sat on the patio and it was very comforting, and not huge. They had fire pits if it’s cold too. Will be back when we come to Carmel again. The picture is the Lemondrop Martini
Ventured into Vesuvio in downtown Carmel during happy hour. It was an exceptionally beautiful evening so we chose to sit on the rooftop deck. The upstairs is spacious and includes fire pits. We shared garlic bread, saffron risotto arancini, fried artichoke crocchette, and truffled gnocchi. Everything was delicious and service was kind and responsive. Lovely evening!
Visited Monterey and had dinner here on Saturday night. Made a reservation the day of and had limited openings. Definitely recommend making your reservation early. Found street parking right in front around 730pm. Was seated immediately. Tried the fritto misto and bruschetta for apps. Both tasted very fresh and delicious. For main course I ordered the lamb dish which is cook for 4 hours. Very tender. My girlfriend ordered the lobster ravioli. She liked the flavor, just wished it was a larger portion. I paired my lamb with a melbec blend recommended by our waiter. For dessert I had the tiramisu. It seemed a little watery on the bottom layer. As if it had been frozen and thawed. My girlfriend had the brownie which she thought was ok. Might try different desserts next time. Overall food was great and service was prompt.
I absolutely love this place. I think it’s the only rooftop in Carmel (correct me if I’m wrong) and it’s a heated patio. Friendly servers, good food and delicious Italian deserts! There are special desert cocktails!!!! My mood enhancer after a bad day. Highly recommended!
The video I added was from last winter - but has the same vibe.
This place has amazing food! Super flavorful without having that "extra rich" thing that some places do, making you feel like you can only have a few bites. The only reason I gave service 4 stars is because I think we got a new waiter and he spilled some white wine on me as he was clearing extra glasses from our table. 🤪 We even had a celebrity sighting as we were leaving! Definitely a "must try" if you are visiting Carmel. To sum up: awesome roof top bar, fantastic food and friendly service. Both me and my GF ate almost our entire plates and we rolled out of there. 😉
I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars! We started with their famous grilled artichoke appetizer (the first time I have ever had artichokes) which came with a delicious dipping sauce that I couldn't place but was just the right addition to this unique vegetable. We then had to try the white truffle wood-fired pizza because it sounded so interesting. Pizza is my favorite food and I will say that this was one of the best pizzas I have ever had! The flavors blended so well we could not stop eating, even though we still had ravioli ossobucco and chicken parm, which were also spectacular! I cannot say enough about this experience. We will absolutely return here next time we come back to Carmel.
Had dinner here a couple of weeks back after driving over from Mariposa Grove.
It was a Saturday night and we did a walk-in.
Pretty crowded but only waited 20 minutes for a seating.
Nice atmosphere, good vibes good service and the seafood risotto, white truffle pie pizza and the garlic bread were excellent.
