Found Edwin's while wandering around Carmel looking for lunch. Menu looked inventive and limited enough for a quick choice. Opted for the Island Burger and Asian style fried Chicken after cauliflower-based soup and an egg roll appetizer. I liked my partners soup so requested one for myself. All was good, think we'll return for other items on the menu.
Reviewing for the new owner's of Edwin's. Great service and food! My fiancee's steak meal was brought out on a cutting board which we thought was a neat way to plate it. My pork chops were fried to perfection and served on a bed of butter fried rice, so flavorful! The head chef came out and talked to the patrons he was very nice and you can tell he enjoys cooking the amazing food here! If you like spicy ask for a side of the spicy sauce it really kicks up the flavor!
This place was recommended by a friend. There is live Piano music every evening on a beautiful baby grand piano. The food is delicious, the chicken was just like the way my husbands mother made it. I fell in love with the ceviche. Perfect Sunday date night❤️
I have been travelling through the Pacific Coast towns and have had some wonderful meals, but this, by far, was the freshest. The food had the most flavour, it was very reasonably priced and the service by Al was exceptional. They went out of their way to accommodate our special requests and the entertainment was excellent. I will be back tomorrow even though the drive is a distance from where we are staying....well worth it.
We went for appetizers and wine. Sat at the bar and had great conversation with the guy working there. The piano music was pleasant and made for a nice atmosphere. Make sure you get the crispy rolls! We could've eaten our weight in those as they were delicious!!
The wife and I visited for our anniversary. The service was legendary. We had great conversation with the bartender as we waited for our table. When we were seated our server was excellent. The live piano player/singer added an extra layer to the ambiance. All the food was prepared to perfection. We had a great visit and cannot wait to retur on our next visit to Carmel.
We loved this place and the fact that it uses organic and farm-to-table ingredients. Lovely laid back atmosphere with an excellent live pianist and very reasonable prices. The only problem was the guy behind the bar from Otter Cove winery who was more interested in trying to impress a nearby girl than serving customers and discussing his wine. It's a shame because every other member of staff was super friendly but this guy seemed to have an attitude.
We've been here a couple of times - each time for a late lunch. It has always been a really great dining experience. The food is always fresh, and the menu is modern but still caters to a transient crowd. It could perhaps change up a little more regularly (or perhaps we happened in on days with very similar menus). The service is always impeccable, taking care of every need.
We actually enjoy selecting 4-6 starters and picking over them between the two of us, tapas style.
We look forward to visiting again one day for dinner.
Neat fish tacos I have had in years!! Maybe the best ever. Flash grilled tortillas, perfectly cooked red snapper, absolutely delicious. Very friendly chef and waiter and reasonable prices. I’ll be back!
Cozy location and great food! The menu does change regularly, so plan to wait to scope out the menu live. They often have a pianist which makes for a great environment for small groups. Given the size, just need to time your dinner well as the wait can stack up.
I had an excellent evening at Affina.
The clam chowder was one of the best I have ever had, freshly made, the vegetables were not overcooked but crispy. As a main course I had the pasta carbonara, fresh pasta, good carbonara sauce, great taste.
Wine list not too big, but well chosen, with for example sparklings from Argentina and great local whites and reds.
Prices are reasonable, especially for Carmel.
The service was very attentive, friendly and open. One can really see, that they enjoy what they are doing.
Absolute highlight for me was the live piano music, the awesome musician came by and ask for wishes, although his own repertoire was already excellent chosen.
Definitely five star!
On a Saturday night, all tables were booked so we sat at the wine bar for dinner. Great service with nice live music from pianist and trumpet player. Steamed clams and clam chowder were excellent.
Open late, nice ambiance, and good pasta carbonara. Not the best you'll have, but enough to share over drinks. I like their menu of upgraded American favorites, like fries and chicken tenders. I'd go back for lunch or appetizers.

Awesome little place. Great food and everything is farm to table. The bartender is the son of the owner/ chef and informed us that all the food is freshly purchased every day. They are so dedicated to farm to table that the establishment does not even have freezers!
This place is downright legit. Really, REALLY tasty, simple good with unique and new flavors mixed in. The chef/owner is genuinely nice and excited to be serving you, and helps serve and clean a well as cook and direct. All around a very enjoyable experience. We will definitely return.
Owners or lead host will treat you like royalty when you frequent the establishment. Nice piano player in the evenings. Consistently yummy dishes.
Many people come here after playing Pebble.
