Love the food and the service! Have heard a lot of great things before and so glad I finally tried it out. Def one of the best Japanese restaurants near Chapel Hill.
Wow wow wow wow. I travel a lot and have high expectations for sushi and Akai Hana met them and then some. Even the small stuff was treated with care: their salad comes with the best home made ginger dressing I’ve ever had over mixed greens and their sushi itself is excellent down to the last piece.

I had 6 pieces of tuna sushi. It was very fresh. The rice held together very well. Flavor and texture were outstanding.
I also had a California roll and it was excellent as well.
Akai Hana has very good sushi. Not Michelin star but far better than the types of pan-Asian cuisine places that have 2 rolls for the price of 1 type specials. However, for the price paid, the service is a little impersonal.

Authentic Japanese food. While visiting Japan is not possible, I would recommend to visit here to enjoy fresh sushi and crispy tempura instead!

I’m a vegetarian who doesn’t like seaweed, and I still had a fantastic lunch here. I and one other member of our group had a sushi burrito, they were really tasty! I had the mt. Fuji and it was delicious, I will definitely be coming back. The appetizers and mochi ice cream were also good.

Decided to try it out after reading the reviews. Food was ok, pretty standard sushi.
The service was disappointing though. When I told the server to check on our order since we have been waiting for more than an hour, her answer was, everyone wait about the same time too. No apologies, no reason
