Reviews Swheat Market Deli

I had read alot of wonderful reviews of the Swheat Market in downtown Cartersville, GA, so I was really excited to give it a try. This restaurant has definitely made it's mark on the city as well as the entire state. Their Black Bean Burger has found it's way onto Georgia's 100 Plates Locals Love list, not to mention they won a 2014 Certificate of Excellence from Trip Advisor. We recently stopped in for a Tuesday lunch and I wanted to include a summary of our meal in which I examine five main elements that I feel define a dining experience. These are Ambience, Cleanliness, Service, Food Quality and Value. Here we go:

I enjoy downtown restaurants! They seem to capture the nostalgia of days gone by. The Swheat Market does this well, nestled between storefront antique shops and the train tracks. It's a beautiful building with a very high ceiling. It's decorated with antiques and has some nice murals on the walls. There's a few tables near the front windows where one can sit in the sunlight. I like the lighting and the overall ambience is spot on.

The restaurant was clean, boasting a health score of 99. I didn't have any cleanliness issues, which is always nice.

The Service category is a little difficult to assess here as you basically order at a counter as in a fast food situation. They do bring the food to your table. Drinks are self serve, so not much of a waitress/waiter situation. Still, everyone was friendly.

The Quality of food here is excellent! It appears that a great amount of care and creativity has went into the entrees to give them a signature touch. The quality and freshness of the ingredients are important to the owners as many of the meats, breads and veggies have local origins. On this trip I was able to sample the Corned Beef Reuben, Roast Beef & Provolone, Sweet Potato Fries, Regular Fries and Chicken Tenders. All of it was great! The delicious Reuben was the real thing with all the key ingredients. The Roast was delicious and tender. I liked the natural cut fries, especially the Sweet Taters. I even thought my son's Chicken Tenders were great.....perfect outer crust. The sweet pickle chips were a nice addition also. I look froward to trying more menu items.

The value of the meal was about what I expected. Two sandwiches, one side of sweet fries, a child's chicken tender with fries and three drinks for $30.00, about average.

Overall, it was a great experience. I feel like the five elements listed in order from most impressive to least impressive would be as follows:

Quality of Food
Cleanliness
Ambience
Value
Service
If I lived closer I would try to eat here weekly. Looking forward to returning.

Old fashioned restaurant in the heart of Cartersville Main Street, seating even available in the large front windows. Very nice variety for lunch I went with the marinated portabella mushrooms, spinach, grilled chicken with a poblano sauce & Swiss cheese quesadilla which was very good accompanied with the house cucumbers, point on. Order at the counter & a server will bring to your table, a very pleasant lunch.

Found this place and stopped in after reading the reviews for it on Urban Spoon! Definitely glad we did! We had a party of 8 that included 6 teenagers, most of them pretty picky. There was something for everyone and everyone really enjoyed their meal! We had a little of just about everything and it was all great! Definitely get the fries, they were wonderful!

BEST lunch in Cartersville!. We eat lunch here very often on the weekends, and I have yet to try something I didn't like! All of their sandwiches and soups are great, and the sweet potato fries are fantastic! The service is very friendly and the decor has a rustic, vintage feel to it. I would recommend this place to anyone!

You can taste the freshness!. I love bringing people to Swheat Market for the first time and watching the surprise on their face when they realize just what fresh food without preservatives tastes like! The combinations sometimes sound unusual but always taste delicious! This is the friendliest place in town and someone always comes by to make sure you are happy and love what you've ordered. The soups are fantastic and vary with the seasons.

This is a place where everyone knows your name. Besides the good food, you feel as though you are family. There is no other place like it. If you come as a stranger you will depart having made new friends. Hope to see you at Swheat's soon!

I really love this place and have tried almost everything here! Cant go wrong with any of the soups. All fresh! Side note though, this place should not be on any delivery apps as they find it hard to complete orders. I understand getting busy but after waiting for over an hour for an online order it was canceled. The order was put in at noon on a day where hours claim to be open till 3pm. Dine in or pick up.

One of the BEST restaurants in downtown Cartersville, GA .. from the great farm decor and atmosphere as soon as you walk through the door to the friendly staff taking your order and bringing your food to the fantastic taste and large amount of food .. my vegetarian wife ordered the Spinach Portabella Mushroom Quesadilla with Dill Pickle Fries and Potato Salad Sides, my Vegan daughter ordered the Half Veggie Sandwich & Soup, and I got the Corned Beef Reuben Sandwich w/Fries .. if you live near Cartersville, the experience and food will be worth it not to mention all of the boutique shops within walking distance after your lunch

Great menu with creative selections. The atmosphere was friendly and comfortable. Pricing on par with most lunch type restaurants that aren't fast food places. Would definitely go back!

This was our second visit to Swheat Market. Very busy, long line to order for lunch but progressed pretty quickly and the wait time for our food was not bad! Both visits the food has been fresh and delicious. Looking around all the food looked very appetizing. Very happy with our sandwiches, sweet potato tots and chicken & rice soup! Will definitely go back and recommend to friends.

We had: swheat burger - fresh ingredients, excellent charbroiled flavor Cuban - true to a cuban sandwich down to the last ingredient. Fresh and hot off the grill. Kids Mac and Cheese - needs better presentation, seemed like more cheese than mac, but was OK. Sweet potato tots were fresh and just made, fantastic. Sweet potato fries and regular french were not up to par with the other food, seems they were sitting around a bit. All in all bug thumbs up, def coming back when in Cartersville.
