Ice cream is so good, they have more than 20 flavors. They also have berger and go hotdogs,kids love this place! Plenty of parking at the back.

I SCREAM FOR THIS ICE CREAM. Growing up in around castro valley the knudsen ice creamery has always been one of places you need to try when in the neighborhood. this place is all about the ice cream but they do have a great grilled cheese and meatloaf sandwich. i usually like to get in and out so i prefer to get an order to go or just grab a scoop or a pint and hit the road. this place is very kid friendly so they tend to be running around everywhere. unfortunately some parents will let their kids do anything. keep an eye on your kids before they get hurt.

the ice cream flavors are awesome and just melt around in your mouth. i have many favorites but the seasonals are of course some of my favorites but they only come around for short periods during the year. with flavors like carmel apple, egg nog, mango, pumpkin spice and rum raisin you'll wish it was a holiday all year round like me.

today i got out with my mom to take her for 18 holes of miniature golf for old times sake. before we needed to get up our energy so we decided to get lunch at knudsen's. we got there around noon and there was a small crowd and seated right away. our server was very friendly and outgoing and got our order in right away. i noticed the orders pouring in every couple of minutes and the one guy on the grill was handling everything in stride. in a very short time our lunch was ready and everything looked so good.

i went with the specialty of the house- the crab sandwich. it was a basic crab with mayo and celery on grilled toast with lettuce but it was really nothing to write home about. i could taste that is was fresh crab but it's not a sandwich worth $12.95. i'm a fan of mayo as well but it was a little bit messy even for me. i can definitely say i have had better crab sandwiches. it was a decent choice but it just needs more going on in the sandwich for the price. i actually really enjoyed the fries alot. i almost thought they were the better part of the meal, the nice crunch on the outside gave it so much texture and made it a real treat. they gave me alot of fries but i wanted more.

as for my mom i'm glad to say i picked another great spot for her. she really loved her sandwich alot and she told everyone she did. she ordered the ham and apple grilled cheese for $8.25 with a house salad. her plate was huge with 4 open faced slices stocked full of smoked gouda, provolone and parmesan cheese, smoked honey ham, sliced granny smith apples, roasted red peppers on thick grilled sourdough bread. i wanted a somewhat light lunch but her lunch looked so good i was able to snag one of them. i agree she picked a winner it was so good. i would definitely order this each and every time for now on. they give you so much grilled cheese you'll feel like a huge fat pig. good thing the apples are healthy.

overall i still really love this place and i'll be sure to save room for the ice cream and chocolates next time. the people are so very friendly and thanked me and even gave us coupons and recommend their favorites for me to try in the future. this is a fun place for family and friends of all ages.

Best place for Ice Cream. They also have a great menu of wonderful food.

Cute store front, healthy sized scoops! Above average cafe food but the staff make it worth while!

Delicious creamy old fashioned ice cream! The Affogato is the best, the coffee they use is so good! A perfect match with Vanilla ice cream!

The ice cream is delicious. This place is good for big groups.
