Fried rice, String beans and pork, beef stew were all really good for this area. Service was also good.

Great value if you like traditional Chinese food, not the Americanized versions. Some things are changing, cleanup, remodel, newer staff. I hope the food does not change or that they raise prices. Sit down food at fast food service speed.
Update: I returned on Oct. 5, 2018. Place is almost unrecognizable inside (see photos). It is a remodelled in that young millenials, hipster-type style with Asian television programs playing on 2 monitors. So far, food offerings have not changed, thank goodness!! Please don't change your menu, HK BBQ.

I need to use expletives to describe the chicken and the place just smells amazing! Good stuff.

Take out service was bad. The order did not reach kitchen until pick up time. No apology from wait person for mistake.
Dessert tofu fa did not solidify into large pieces but was in small broken pieces, and did not come with syrup.

Tried a few different meats and a huge portion of rice with it the rice was very soft for fried rice though. Soup we had was excellent too.

I honestly don't understand why so many people rave about this place. The food is at most okay. The prices are pretty high compared to other Chinese restaurants in the bay. The food tastes like any take-out Chinese spot/chain and I have a slight mistrust of the cooks.
I ordered a whole chicken and it came back missing a drumstick... How does that happen?
TL;DR: Definitely better and cheaper places elsewhere in East Bay if you're craving Chinese food.
