Duesenberg's is super delicious! They can be a little pricey but you definitely get your money's worth! For example one of my favorite things to get there is the grilled cheese with crab and oh my it is LOADED with lump crab! So worth it!! I also love their fried green beans with wasabi ranch!! One of the most appealing aspects of Duesenberg's is a genuine, local feel with a unique menu that offers a lot of variety. It's a great spot to take friends visiting from out of town. One of the downsides is that they close at 3pm. Be prepared to wait because they do a lot of business but don't let the wait (or the crowd) keep you from experiencing it. They are minor inconveniences for an otherwise delightful experience!
Yummy!. As if a grilled cheese is not enough...but to add lobster...and not to skimpy either...sheesh..It's to die for.
Our "Go To" spot in Catonsville. Any time we have company or guests we take them to Duesenberg's.
It NEVER disappoints!!!
Now with more seating, the usual wait is much less.
Highly recommended.
The Belgian waffle and the New Yorker omelet were delicious.
A Hidden Treasure. Accidentally discovered this restaurant on the internet while I was out; looking for something different for lunch... To our surprise; the food was scrumptuous! Fantastic! Going back to take someone to enjoy the food! Waiter was great and helpful with our selection! Cozy, small place; but the food is worth the wait!!!!!!!!!!!! Today, will try their Baltimore, Chesapeake sandwich which is crabcake and shrimp salad. Can't wait!!!! So much sandwich; you won't be able to eat it all!!!!!!!
Good food bad service. Food you will crave after you are there one time, but then you will think for you buffoon waiter and weigh your options if you want to go back or not, expect a long wait do not go starving not much there happens fast, but sometimes worth the wait sometimes......
Breakfast Made With Love. Gary's breakfasts are made with love! From the crisp light waffles to his rich and decadent eggs Benedict. All the ingredients are fresh and of high quality. You may have to wait a bit to get in as the dining room is cozy, but I assure you it is worth the wait.
Driving past we were alittle scared that we would have to wait to be seated, but we were seated imediatly. The waitress we had was very plesant and would constantly check up on us. I got the Baltimore po boy and WOW! I mean what could be better then a fried jumbo shrimp with crab dip smothered on top with melted cheese! Instead of getting regular fries I got the sweet the potatoe fries and they were also very good! Overall I would recommend this place to anyone who likes both food and atmosphere! ( the placemats were paper but were printed like a newspaper! Very creative.) thanks for such a great experience and food! ( also consider getting the smithisland cake for desert!)
Pleasant find.. We had a great late morning breakfast on Sat.
Food was perfect, atmosphere was very good,
our waitress could not have been better. Five min. wait to be seated. Coffee was fresh but not anything to write home about. We will be back. It was a great find.
Great lunch. Spur of the moment stop-in became a great lunch. Has to be one of the best burgers around. One of us ordered rare with a capital R and the other ordered med-well.
Surprise, that is exactly what we got! And so few places can manage to do that and have them both served piping hot. The individual toppings we requested were good and generous. At the recommendation of our waiter, Chris, we tried the french-fried green beans, delicious and definitely enough to share.
Since we live on the northeast end of town, it says a lot that we can't wait to come back. So many tempting choices on a breakfast and lunch only menu.

Fabulous Breakfast. I've had breakfast here on several occasions and the food, service and price were fabulous! The home fries (with bits of bacon) and the Phoenix Omlet are my favorites. The service was excellent. We arrived at 9:20 a.m. and were walking out of the door at 9:45 a.m. Our server was efficient and friendly. We are always pleasantly surprised by the inexpensive price for the generous portions. A real asset to Catonsville!
Catonsville's Best. I must say, I went to Duesenberg'sfor the first time today and had the most incredible time. I've read the other reviews and I must say, everyone I met today had a smile on their face and the most positive upbeat attitude!
I found the atmosphere to be welcoming, the food was delicious, and the red-head who waited on me has some of the best customer service skills I have ever seen. The shorter girl with the darker hair kept me in stitches all afternoon with her jokes.
This is definitely the place to go. It's quickly becoming Catonsville's newest hot spot!
Put Blame Where It's Due. I'm disgusted by what I'm reading below me. I've visited Duesenberg's MANY times and have had a pleasent experience each and every time, until it's time to pay the bill. I think it's absolutely rediculous to sit here and name each individual server and mark their flaws... Yes, some come across as loud, even rude at times, but look at what these servers have to put up with! The volume this restaurant carries is incredible when you compare it to the size of the building, it's fast paced, always a wait and these girls and guys NEVER get a break! While I have my two personal favorites (Matt and Heather), I think all the servers have their good points. Each one makes an effort to ensure that everyone is taken care of, even when they aren't the one waiting on you.
As I said, the problem isn't the servers, it's the carry out and the kitchen. I'm not sure where the manager is in all of this, but the carry out girl needs to go. She is the rudest person I have ever heard, using racist and profane language, in front of the customers! I've heard her on multiple occassions making fun of cumstomers who are still seated in the building! And she's derogatory to the servers! Putting them down right in fromt of customers! Someone needs to dethrone miss queen B and out her in her place! And the kitchen crew needs to stop their fighting and cursing while there are customers at the carry out!
Toddcori. My wife and I had breakfast on Saturday. It was our first trip and it will not be our last..The service and the food were excellent. I've followed Gary at his first two restaurants andthey were great, but this time he has hit the jackpot. I think I will stop here ..I'm getting hungry and they close at 3 ......
Worth a return trip. My wife and I had lunch here a few days ago, and we'd both go back any time. The place is small, maybe 14 tables, and relatively casual, though the three servers who were on duty that day gave very good service. Our server recommended the green bean fries (they also have regular French fries and sweet potato fries), and the green bean fries were worth the $1.59 (I think). They're dipped in a thin batter and deep fried, and served with a (not very spicy) wasabi ranch sauce. We each had sandwiches which seemed a buck or two more expensive than they should have been, but they were large enough so we had some to take home. Word to the wise: the menu mentions only the usual fountain sodas, but the refrigerated case near the cash register (the place does a lot of carry-out business) has an assortment of hard to find sodas, including Tommy's Naked (a personal favorite), Sprecher's and a couple of others.
Kick the tires on this one!. Open for breakfast and lunch, Gary Teegardin's new bistro is a long overdue and welcome addition to Catonsville's meager restaurant offerings. Start the day with poached eggs, grilled salmon, hollandaise and caviar ($12.95) and return midday for a warm sandwich of Danish fontina and big chunks of Maine lobster served with fried green beans and wasabi ($12.95). Best known for his famous Taneytown Deli, Gary's culinary skills have evolved considerably and earned him my vote as Catonsville's "Top Chef"
This new cafe is great. I went to this place, right off of Frederick Rd. in Catonsville for a quick lunch and it was a great find. Very small and tucked behind Taneytown Sandwiches, Dueseberg's has a warm and friendly atmosphere where the staff is eager to please. Even though the place was filled, we got a table in just a few minutes.
The menu is great. They serve breakfast all day, with a variety of selections. I however, got something off of their extensive sandwich list. The Baltimore Po-boy was fantastic: jumbo fried shrimp covered with crab dip and cheddar on top of a french baguette. Messy, but delicious. My wife's steak sandwhich was also very good.
And good fries, something actually not that easy to find in Catonsville.
A real gem with classic small town feel, I will definitely be going back there again. However it will have to be for breakfast or lunch, since they close at 3pm.

Open as an American Cafe for breakfast and lunch, it offers food that has never failed to impress us. The big challenge is that Duesenberg’s only has about 8 tables inside (another 6 outside on the sidewalk) which can make getting a table challenge at prime lunch time.
